Thank you Harlequin Romance and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange this is my honest review.
Yours for the Season by Kate Cochrane is a sweet, cozy, small town, sapphic romance that left me swooning and wanting more.
JT Cox won gold for Team USA at the Winter Olympics in women’s hockey, yet still can’t seem to make her family proud as she isn’t an artist. Visiting home for the holidays she meets up with her best friend and his sister, Ali Porter, newly divorced, bi, hot, and her childhood crush. Their first night seeing each other? Ends in a kiss. With a town competition, a meddling mother who refuses to believe the divorce is final, and uninterested parents that don’t seem to care their daughter won gold, what could possibly go wrong? Or very, very right?
Okay, I like hockey romances, but honestly I didn’t know I needed this book in my life. JT is so relatable, funny, and witty while Ali is kind, sweet and just a lovely cinnamon roll. Their romance is hot, their spice is fantastic and every chapter left me wanting for more. I love that the romance is what pulled JT and Ali’s story. I love that their chemistry is fire and their banter delightful. I love how they both learn to stand up for themselves and ask for what they want. Toby (the dog) was a joy and I wouldn’t have minded a whole chapter about her. I also loved how even though you can love your family they can disappoint you and that asking for more shouldn’t be something you’re sorry for. This was a wonderfully written cozy winter romance that I enjoyed immensely.
Overall 5/5 stars and I wouldn’t mind more of their story (like a second epilogue, I don’t want a sequel that means their happy ending might take a twist). Cochrane did an excellent job of creating a heartfelt cozy holiday sapphic romance that I cannot recommend enough. Buy or pre-order Yours for the Season October 28, 2025.

This was SO good!
It’s a simple read, but I am a simple girl. So I loved it. What else can I say?
This is perfect if you love:
- Sapphic romance
- Sports romance
- Christmassy/cozy reads
JT is an Olympic gold medal-winning hockey player, who has recently returned to her hometown to visit her estranged family for Christmas.
Ali is a recent divorcee, the sister of JT’s best friend, and JT’s childhood crush, who is on a mission to become her true self now that she is newly single.
The two women reconnect and find themselves attracted to one another immediately. In a sudden effort to get back at Ali’s ex-husband, they unexpectedly join a town competition, where they compete against other duos in a series of Christmas inspired challenges.
During their time together, they fall harder and harder for each other.
Unfortunately, JT doesn’t have a habit of sticking around her hometown for very long- so nobody knows what will actually become of their relationship.
I actually loved this so much more than I was expecting!
This was sweet, romantic, flirty and steamy.
JT and Ali are PERFECTION together.
How can a fictional couple give me so many emotions?
Their relationship had me smiling and giggling throughout the whole book, and I really did not want it to end. I’m sad that it is over.
Can we talk about how gentle and supportive JT was throughout this entire story? Because I want to talk about it.
The absolute CARE that she put into making sure Ali was comfortable, happy and satisfied at literally every point during their time together?
Stop. It’s too good.
I absolutely loved reading about Ali’s goal of discovering herself post-divorce.
She mentions that she did not want to be forced to be the same woman she was at 18 forever, and I thought that was pretty powerful and relatable.
A wonderful message about perusing growth and development- even when the people around you seem to want you to stay the same forever.
Everything about this book was quite lovely.
I would absolutely recommend it!

I started reading sapphic fiction after I started reading romance in the first place, liking some light reading to counter some of the heavier reading I did, but also finding I generally didn’t enjoy the male main characters in most of the books I read.
I didn’t know what I was coming into with this book, but it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. That’s mostly a good thing. I expected the attraction to be a slow build, but then it was almost immediately acknowledged. Then I expected them to almost immediately fall into bed…and they didn’t.
JT and Ali are both interesting and believable characters, different and yet also going through some o fht esame issues. JT doesn’t want to be back in her hometown, as she doesn’t feel her parents love and respect her; Ali is coming off a divorce from a very unlikable man and trying to feel comfortable with her bisexuality, while her mother tries to push her back in a relationship with her ex-husband.
The book shines brightly when it’s just JT and Ali, and there are some secondary characters that stand out (including two from the first book in this series that I’ll probably go out of my way to read). The parents of both main characters lack a lot of depth (particularly Ali’s mom), and I don’t fully empathize for the reasons they do what they do. And Ali’s ex is pretty much a walking stereotype that I’m almost tempted to doubt Ali for ever having married him, but this was a fast, fun read with two engaging main characters.

Be with the person who helps your expand and grow.
This book was so lovely. It's going to be a wonderful holiday read. I loved how it touched on different parent pains and insecurities. Both main characters were loveable and adorable together. The spicy increased like a slowburn asian spicy dish. I loved how they both knew what they wanted. Ali was avle to become more of herself and be okay with what she loved. JT grew from the acceptance she always wanted in a new version of her old home town. I didn't care for Ali's mom at all, but I did adore JT's family by the end.
A lovely, heartwarming book.

Great book! Was easy to read. First book I’ve read from Kate Cochrane and would read more of her books for sure

Yours for the season is book two in the Puck Struck series, and while I enjoyed pop ups from characters from the first book Wake up Nat and Darcy you can also read this as a standalone! I would have liked to see more of JT Cox actually playing hockey, but this was still a cute sapphic romance at a small town and very holiday themed.

This book was so cozy and cute! I loved how both JT and Ali were going through some tough things emotionally, but found each other and a sense of healing, all against the backdrop of a cozy and fun New England small town holiday contest!

Yours for the Season by Kate Cochrane grabbed me by that cover and didn’t let go…until I read it. This had such an adorable concept but fell flat for me. First of all lesbians, yes. One is fully out of the closet and being a baddie, JT. The other, Ali, is fresh from a divorce with her high school sweetheart and hasn’t fully realized she’s bisexual until meeting up with JT again, her younger brother’s best friend. Their relationship was quick, and I’m a girl for a falls hard and fast ship but this lacked that oomph I know readers kinda crave to read. Kudos to them for saying I love you within that first week of actually hooking up and hanging out cause no, just no. You two just don’t deserve that crap just yet, let’s give it a couple weeks.
The parental relationships were frustrating. On one hand you have JT’s parents who you just can’t vibe right with or get a complete read on but come to find out they do love her it’s just they don’t want to listen to the slurs she gets while in public? Like come on, she’s a baddie who played on an Olympic hockey team and medaled. Frig the slurs, like…great parents don’t give two shits, they clap back. Her parents decided to step up after talking about it with her at the end of the book, but this is not all on them. I blame JT for poor communication as well. It takes effort from both parties. Poor Ali’s mother is just scared as heck to she’s projecting. She herself was burned and didn’t want that for Ali. Did she go about it wrong? Yes. But we do get some resolution at the end that helped ease the poor relationship throughout the book.
It was just too rushed for me. I know we had a set time restraint but if so, maybe there needed to be more detail or just more of them together? I’m a sucker for a Christmas competition though and this was an adorable idea, it helped JT and Ali solidify their growing friendship and romance but it also helped other relationships. I didn’t get to read the first book in this series and I look forward to comparing both to see which I like most.
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin-Romance.
2.5 stars!

A sapph>ic hockey themed romance! A fun small town romance between characters that are endearing. The author painted a perfect setting with gorgeous characters and a romance to be heavily invested in. BRAVO.

I love a good sapphic holiday romance! Family drama, spicy flirting, and Christmas cheer made this a fun read. I don't think the patron at my library would be grabbing for it, but I think it was great.

What a lovely story with well developed characters who had amazing chemistry and communicated well. This was a joy to read. I look forward to more from this author. I recommend
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley .

I’ve always loved Christmas and hallmark movies. This one fits right into the holiday mood.
The main characters work well off each other and the battle they have with themselves and their families is worth it to take the time to read it.
It’s everything you need when you want to be in a festive mood.
Thanks to NetGallery and the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC of Yours for the Season.
What drew me to this book was the beautiful cover and the synopsis, but the book itself didn’t maintain my attention.
Both FMCs, Ali and JT, have issues with their parents. This is fine, but the conversations and internal dialogue surrounding those issues were extremely repetitive. It was like reading the same conversation or thoughts over and over again without having the resolution needed to move past these conflicts earlier on in the storyline.
I also thought JT’s issues with her parents could have and should have been discussed when she was a teenager rather than waiting until now. It just didn’t make a lot of sense that she wouldn’t have gotten angry at some point when she was a teenager and confronted her parents then.
Honestly, if the parental conflict for both characters would not have been a thing, this would have been a stronger book.
The chemistry between JT and Ali was lacking. Sure, JT had a crush on Ali when she was younger, but I didn’t feel that chemistry or attraction building in any significant way now that they’re older. It fell more into the JT still has a crush on Ali, and now Ali thinks JT is hot without any real development. Just boom they’re kissing. But they want to just be friends. But they also don’t want to just be friends. And boom they’re more than friends. But they’re still just friends. But they’re not just friends. It gave me a bit of whiplash to be honest, and I wanted to see Ali and JT truly getting to know each other and those feelings starting to build between them.
The love story seemed underdeveloped throughout, and while I knew Ali and JT would figure everything out and get their HEA, I wasn’t rooting for them all that much.

Thank you to the publisher and thank you to NetGalley for the chance to review this e-ARC. Full review will be available soon

Kate Cochrane has done it again. I didn’t know I needed sapphic stories centered around hockey until I read her books, but now I’m all in. JT and Ali’s story is full of heart, charm, and that perfect balance of emotional depth and cozy holiday magic. Both characters are trying to grow beyond how others have always seen them, and I loved watching them slowly build something real despite small-town pressure, complicated pasts, and uncertain futures. Their chemistry is sweet and believable, and the holiday backdrop makes everything feel just a little more hopeful.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for the ARC!
I didn't realize this was part of a series but I think this works well as a standalone. I would put this book in my "Sapphic Lifetime Movie Vibes" list. It's a great cozy read that I'll be reading again during the holidays.
4.5 ⭐️

First time I read a book by this author. I absolutely loved it. Christmas books are my favorite and this book was amazing. I love everything about this book

This was such a cute holiday read, although it's not focused on Christmas it is set during that time. I loved the growth and the amount of healing both JT and Ali went through in this book. They were both suffering, JT from the lack of family support and feeling inferior to them because of how different she is. Ali was coming out of a divorce and having to deal with her mom trying to push her to get back together with her ex. I had so much fun reading of them participating in the small town winter competition and the romance was beautiful!
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for the ARC!

Olympic gold medalist, JT Cox (Coxie), has returned to her hometown of Hart's Landing, New Hampshire. She has never quite fit in with her family full of artists with JT being an athlete. She returns to her hometown occasionally for special holidays but usually spends limited time in Hart's Landing. On this trip she learns that her best friend's sister, Ali Porter, is now divorced after about ten years of marriage. Ali was JT's crush growing up when she spent time with her best friend, Tommy.
Out of a Hallmark Movie, JT and Ali, become partners for the town's multi day holiday competition. As they plan for these events and as JT helps Ali sort out her new home, they begin to grow closer.
This was an interesting holiday read with both JT and Ali planning for the next phases of their lives. The added family dynamic kept the action moving and provided some conflicts for both Ali (especially with her mother) and JT (with her artist parents). The holiday events were fun and hopefully taught Alis ex, Kyle, a few lessons. The trip that Ali and JT took to an IKEA a few hours away was hilarious. Overall, a good book that I'd recommend to other potential readers.
I received an ARC from Carina Adores and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Yours for the Season by Kate Cochran is a delightful holiday romance that sparkles with charm, humor, and just the right touch of emotional resonance. Centered around hockey star JT Cox and newly divorced Ali Porter, the story brings the festive cheer of a small town alive through cocoa tastings, gingerbread decorating, and a slow-burn romance that sizzles beneath the snow. Cochran’s writing is lighthearted and fun, offering the cozy warmth of a Hallmark movie with a refreshing queer twist. JT and Ali’s chemistry is both playful and tender, making their journey from friends to lovers feel genuine and satisfying.
What sets this story apart is the surprising emotional depth tucked beneath its festive exterior. JT’s complicated relationship with her hometown and Ali’s struggle to redefine herself after years of conformity add weight to the sweetness. Themes of self-acceptance, new beginnings, and the tension between personal dreams and romantic connection are explored with nuance. Yours for the Season is a feel-good holiday romance that’s as heartfelt as it is entertaining.
