After the last battle, the blades had to regroup before they finish what they started. Meanwhile, Tiyung is trying to find where they're at to join them again. With the three relics they now possess, can the blades finally free the kingdom from tyrants? Or will their secrets catch up to them causing them to fail?
I feel like this was a very very slow start the first 60-ish percent consists of them running around and chasing each other. However, once the action actually starts, it was great! The ending was fantastic! I just felt like it took so long to get there. What a great end to the trilogy!❤️
Thank you Netgalley and Entangled publishing for a copy of this ARC.🫶🏻

Three Shattered Souls
It's more like four shattered souls because mine hurts.
After the events in Four Ruined Realms, the book picks right up after that cliffhanger. (Mai Corland wrote a synopsis of what happened, so you are caught up, which is awesome bless every author who does that).
We do get a new set of characters that stay relevant throughout Three Shattered Souls. Following this found family that truly trauma bonded over so much unspeakable horror, they do love one another. Going from one battlefield to another and questioning themslevs. This book did tie up a lot of loose ends. Lots of funny moments, too. Aeri and Mikail had me rolling quite a bit. Dark humor is an acquired taste, murderers and all can still have funny moments.
This whole journey started with a shared goal that started awful and ended so beautifully.
The character growth that flows through page to page was well written, and I didn't feel rushed. Of course, betrayal was happening left and right. It wouldn't be the best liars in all the realms if everyone was honest. Kept you on your toes.
Lots of big feelings that did get worked out and the ending has me crying while writing this review, I enjoyed reading about this group of misfits, and now that it's over, I want to know more! I can't rest without knowing how they are doing after everything that has happened!
Mai Corland broke my heart, and I can't wait for the rest of the book community to be upset with me.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for the book in exchange for an honest review.

5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Three shattered souls was a fitting ending to a fantastic series. This is the only book this year that I have stayed up until 2am to finish.
What I loved in particular:
- The court politics, this whole series does intrigue so well but in this book I was always guessing. Expect hidden identities and so many betrayals!
- I thought Mikail’s grief was really well handled. Mai Corland hinted at how easily the combination of grief and power could have turned him into a tyrant.
- Mikail and Sora are my favourite characters. Their friendship always feels like a silver lining.
Like the rest of the series this was an absolutely fantastic read and one that I will re-read over and over. I can’t wait to see what Mai Corland does next.
Thank you so much to Entangled Publishing, LLC for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Finally a conclusion. However my feelings are the same. There needed to one narrative not multiple. I feel the story could have been stronger and better played out from one point of view.

"Even the strongest blades can break."
If you listen very closely you can hear the sound of my heart shattering as well after reading that epilogue.
I really have no words about how much I love these books, I grew so attached to them in the half year since I started reading the first one. They have everything you’d want from a good fantasy: adventure, schemy schemes, heartbreak, political intrigue, even more heartbreak (have mercy!). Did I mention the heartbreak?
It’s impossible not to get attached to this found family of weird and wonderful characters, and if you were already rooting for them since the first book, then this epic finale will crush your soul in the best way possible.

I would like to thank NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for allowing me to read an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
After reading the "Preview/Teaser" of this book, which was the first 3 chapters, I just knew I HAD to read the rest ASAP! Entangled Publishing granted my wish, I could not have been more excited! The only thing I can say is, I was NOT PREPARED!! This book is the 3rd and final book in the series and I HIGHLY recommend reading the first 2 first for background, character relationships, and plot development.
I knew going in someone was probably going to die. We went from 5 in Five Broken Blades" to 4 in "Four Ruined Realms"; the title alone of "Three Shattered Souls" was definitely foreshadowing. Three Shattered Souls picks up right where book 2 left off, shortly after the events in Quu Harbor. The remaining Blades and their relics are on their way to take back the throne from the new King. But Joon's fate is unknown and he has 2 relics himself. War is imminent
This book develops our characters a lot more, and really delves into Aeri and Royo's relationship. Mikail and Sora both lose (and gain?) people they love. Loyalties are questioned and broken and re-questioned and no one knowns who is truly working for/with who.
I was not prepared for Chapter 68.
Chapters 73 to to the end are basically the events of the war and are absolutely devastating. Shattered Souls, indeed.
We finally see all the relics united and meet the THE DRAGON LORD. I was not ready!! // I'm not crying, you're crying //
And at the very end, a new (surprise) royal is coronated in Yusan, and Gaya becomes free again. The Epilogue is well done, and holds the potential for a spin-off series...fingers crossed??
I love, Love, LOVE this series and thes book in particular was AMAZING! Also heartbreaking and tragic, took me on an emotional roller coaster, and gave me all the feels. I will definitely be recommending this book and this series to everyone! Five Stars!

A satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, while leaving the door open for more stories. A great story of bringing complete strangers together to work toward the same goal, with them overcoming lies, loss, and huge obstacles to become a family while making the realms a better place for everyone.

This series is by far the best fantasy series I’ve read in a while. The characters, the twists, the action and the romance. This series has it all. Only complaint - I want more!
We jump right back into the story from book 2 with our assassins reeling from the devastation of Eyun’s death and Mikhal’s discovery. They still can’t trust anyone - even each other. They continue to be on the run and targeted but they are exhausted and emotionally drained. We finally see how these characters actually process all that they’ve been through and it’s hard. There’s still a lot of action and some shocking moments that will make you want to cry. This wrapped up wonderfully but also with a hit of hope….loved every second

First, Mai Corland is now an auto-buy author for me. She wields a mighty pen!
Second, my thanks to Entangled Publishing for the amazing opportunity to review this arc.
Now! On to my review.
Anyone who follows me on IG (@dbooknook) knows I have been raving about The Broken Blades series from book 1, Five Broken Blades. And I have to say, I was worried about how this would end, because in book 2, Four Ruined Realms, things went decidedly all the way wrong. It was hard to imagine a way forward.
But this is why Mai Corland is an auto-buy author for me now.
She takes us through from the end of book 2 (with a very helpful recap at the start) straight to a conclusion that, even though it broke my heart, it also made sense. This book explored the very depths of friendship, understanding, and how human beings struggle to hold on to their morals and values when faced with immense turmoil. What decisions are best? Who do you choose to trust? All questions our beloved characters had to face. I have to say; the action is a lot more of the stealth variety in this book, but still heart pounding, as we find out exactly what relics can do, and even scarier, what they cost.
My favorite aspects of this book involved the mix of adventure, with love, and companionship. Along the way, everyone had to go out on a limb, and as readers, we never knew if it would be an excellent decision or a bad one. Talk about keeping you tense as you read! I loved it though. The changing perspectives only added to this. You kept getting viewpoints from different parts of the kingdom that obviously all the characters did not have, and it made my brain tingle in anticipation of what would happen when they met up! I was not disappointed!
The writing and rhythm of the entire book flowed effortlessly. This was a well-woven tale of relationships, and ALSO a story of power! In between the love and betrayal is a deep lesson about power and how it corrupts in the wrong hands. We also dive into what leadership should look like versus what it too many times ends up being. This made this story, this series an enthralling fantasy with fascinating dives into human nature, filled with lessons that will stay with me.
I really loved this book. It was everything I hoped for and more in a series end.
I am sad.
I am happy.
I am yearning for more.
I am also hopeful of a new beginning, Mai Corland!
This is a series to start if you haven’t, and one to look forward to enjoying even as it ends when Three Shattered Souls releases on July 15th.

Wow. This book did shatter my soul. What an epic conclusion to the Broken Blades trilogy. While there is a short summery in the beginning of the book, you do need to read books 1 & 2 before this one.
The ending of this series may have been filled with heartbreak, it was also filled with hope. I love this series so much and going on this journey with these characters is one of my favorites. The whole story is filled with secrets, betrayal, love, friendship, action, and emotion. I love that you get multiple povs and that you really get to see what each character is feeling and going through. There are so many twists and you never know who is on whose side and that made it an excellent story to be apart of. It kept me on my toes and makes you not trust anyone!
It’s hard to say who my favorite character is as they all have pros and cons. But it might just be Royo. He goes through so much and with his ending, maybe we will get a spinoff?! 👀
Thank you to Red Tower for a copy of an e-arc. And thank you to Mai Corland for creating this world for us to escape to ♥️

Thank you so so much Netgalley & Entangled Publishing! When I read the first few chapters I was completely obsessed so when I got an email back giving me the amazing opportunity to read the whole book I was completely blown away!
This book RUINED me in thee the ways. It was such a beautiful journey this trilogy put me on. I’m so sad that it has came to an end. This book series as a whole put me on such a wild ride, with all the devastation & awful heartbreaking losses.
This story was completely addictive throughout the whole book, I loved how we got everyone’s pov still throughout the series. Mai you have done an incredible job making such a beautiful world for us. I absolutely cannot wait to see what comes next. You have made it fast to my auto buy authors! I absolutely cannot wait for this book to be released on July 15th! Please go make sure to preorder it!

THIS WAS AMAZING! ⭐️
What an amazing conclusion to such a fun and exciting trilogy. I loved the characters, their relationships together and how they worked together.
I need to sit with my thoughts for a few days in order to write a longer review for my feedback form and Goodreads soon.

I loved the first two books in this trilogy but this one fell flat for me. The characters and relationships were still wonderful, but I thought the plot was kind of boring and also rushed like they literally ran allll over the map in the first part of the book but it didn’t really feel like it. Also all of the double crossing got a little out of hand when literally every side character was a double crosser but oops they’re actually still on their side!
Overall I still loved the writing, characters, and the world, but the plot was a let down compared to the other two books :/

This series is an absolute masterclass in storytelling, character development, and its characters make up one of the best found families in fantasy fiction.
I loved the various POVs, each with its unique voice, each character so well crafted that it made for more and more tension as we hurtled toward the inevitable ending. There is pain, there is sorrow, but most importantly, there is love here, in various forms, and I loved every bit of the journey.

An absolutely amazing end to this series. I cannot begin to express how much I loved the entire thing, and this ending is so fitting for everything that happened, and everything our characters stood for in both life, and death.
As Aeri and Royo figure out what's is between them, Mikail mours his losses and plans for the future. Sora and Tiyung are separated from the group for a time, and Euyn's absence has stricken them all. Will they be able to attain the relics and rid the realm of Joon and Seok, or will they lose their lives fighting for what is right?
This was emotional and heartbreaking, but healing in that their choices have brought them to where they are now.

The final book of 'The Broken Blades' series leaves room for more in the universe and a bit of unfinished business.
Overall, the story had a nice ending, with the political aspect of the plot having the best possible outcome, even though tough decisions from the characters (and the author) had to be made.
The start of the book was also pretty hectic, as the characters moved from one place to another, before the story finally settled into where everything was leading to.
In addition, the final chapters were quite intense when it came to the action aspects, but everything just happened too fast, and the last chapters were rushedly concluded, almost like citing bullet points of all of the loose ends that needed to be wrapped up.
The characters, moreover, were all interesting as always, and I loved how the author handled their relationship, even though the romantic ones for some were a bit hurriedly progressed.
Big Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the advanced copy ! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
This review is also posted on Goodreads and Storygraph

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
What an ending and what a wild journey! This series has only become more interesting and heartbreaking with every book. I’m really sad that it’s over and I’m devastated over the losses that took place in the book. I really enjoyed reading about Korean mythology but that also took place in a kind of socially liberal climate. I loved the multiple point of views as well and I felt that they all remained very consistent throughout the books.
Overall, this was a great conclusion to a trilogy about a group of scheming liars who you should absolutely not trust but who you end up loving and rooting for anyways. But especially for Euyn.

This is a 6 ⭐️ read! This whole series was amazing, and "Three Shattered Souls" was a fantastic ending to The Broken Blades trilogy. I cried multiple times throughout this book - the emotional impact was incredible. I can't believe it's over now!
Corland did an amazing job at making this action packed and impossible to put down. The pacing was perfect, and the emotional stakes kept me completely invested in every scene. It will take me a while to get over the emotional damage this book put me through!
This finale delivered everything I wanted and more. The character arcs, the action sequences, and the emotional payoff were all perfectly executed. I can't wait for any novellas or other books that come from this series!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (6/5 stars)
Perfect for fans of:
• Action-packed fantasy
• Emotional character arcs
• Found family dynamics
• Complex world-building
😭💙⚔️

In the thrilling finale of the Broken Blades trilogy amidst a maze of alliances and betrayals the Blades return to Yusan to dethrone the usurper who seized the Serpent Throne.
Mai Corland excels at multi-perspective storytelling. I loved that I got inside the mind of each character to hear their inner dialogue and learn what experiences drove their choices. Knowing their thought process and the importance of their commitment to each other helped me understand and accept some unpleasant decisions.
Impressively layered world building, magical warfare and political games kept the plot moving at a satisfying pace and made for a strong story that was hard to put down. If you like a sweeping fantasy drama that delivers gut punches, heartbreak and character driven stories with heart this series is for you!

This book was a ride, in the most beautiful, necessary way.
Three Shattered Souls is the kind of finale that grabs your heart, squeezes it through every twist, betrayal, and sacrifice, and somehow leaves you whole by the end.
After the heartbreaking death in the previous book, I honestly wasn’t sure how I’d feel moving forward. I was hesitant, and worried it wouldn’t feel the same. But I ended up loving the new characters introduced in this one. it felt like I was living every chapter alongside them.
I’m so sad this trilogy is over, but it ended exactly the way it needed to. Emotional, intense, and unforgettable. I still feel bittersweet that the trilogy is over, I might do re-read!!
