This book was so refreshing! It didn’t remind me of any other book I have read this year. The characters were sweet and relatable. The plot was fun, silly, and heartfelt. The spice was tasteful and fun. Great read!

I absolutely loved this book! From the first page, I was hooked by the quirky, clever premise and the undeniable chemistry between Kirsty and Jasper. Kirsty’s ghost talking gig might be fake, but the sparks between her and Jasper? 100% real and sizzling. The blend of humor, mystery, and paranormal chaos (hello, ghost-possessed physics book obsessed with Judge Judy!) made for such a unique and entertaining read.
The characters were vibrant and layered, and I especially enjoyed how the story balanced emotional depth with laugh out loud moments. The supernatural twists kept me guessing, and the romance felt both fun and meaningful. If you’re a fan of witty banter, slow-burn attraction, and a touch of ghostly mischief, this one is an absolute must-read. I didn’t want it to end

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into Ghost of a Chance, but it was pleasantly a cozy mystery just like the ones that our FMC Kirsty writes! Our story follows Kirsty a faux medium and Jasper who has been carrying around a haunted book since his roommate died five years ago. He corners Kirsty when she is interviewing with his boss about her newest book and the two of them are pulled into a mini series about his haunting and his hope that Kirsty can exorcise his life. These two were very angsty, Jasper is our resident lost boy and Kirsty a goth icon. I liked the story and the premise but I wasn’t the biggest fan of Jasper, he was younger than Kirsty and he drove me pretty bananas with how he wouldn’t tell her all the details of something. That being said I was relieved when they finally got together because I did find them well suited and the spice was a good time! If you are looking for something spooky and fall themed, I’d recommend adding this one to the tbr!

Sometimes, love knocks on your door. Other times, it barges in with a haunted physics textbook and a ghost who won’t shut up about Judge Judy. Ghost of a Chance is delightfully strange in all the best ways—an offbeat blend of paranormal chaos, laugh-out-loud dialogue, and reluctant romantic entanglement that had me grinning through entire chapters.

The premise alone promises fun: Jasper is being haunted by the sarcastic spirit of his late college roommate, who’s decided that unfinished business includes meddling in Jasper’s love life and quoting courtroom TV. When Jasper seeks out Kirsty, a fake psychic who’s suddenly faced with a very real haunting, the story kicks off into a fast-paced, banter-filled escapade that’s as hilarious as it is heartfelt.

Kirsty is easily one of my favorite characters in a paranormal romance this year. Cynical, sharp-tongued, and deeply human, she’s just trying to coast by on staged séances and half-hearted tarot reads until the universe hands her a ghost she can’t ignore—and a man she really shouldn’t fall for. The banter between Kirsty and Jasper is full of sharp comebacks and simmering tension that feels earned and slow-burning. They start off wary of each other, but slowly fall into a rhythm that’s both chaotic and weirdly tender.

The book balances its humor with emotional depth surprisingly well. Jasper’s backstory—grief, guilt, and a need to make peace with the past—is layered into the comedy in a way that never feels forced. And Kirsty’s own emotional guardrails begin to crack as she’s drawn into a mystery bigger than either of them expected.

That said, there were a few moments where Jasper’s enthusiasm veered into a bit much. His flirtation occasionally edged on overly persistent, and while it didn’t cross any major lines, it was enough to make me pause. Still, Kirsty is no damsel, she handles him with confidence and wit, never letting their dynamic tip too far out of balance.

The ghostly roommate was a comedic gem, and the mystery of why he was stuck added a nice layer of intrigue. The narrative never tries to be spooky for the sake of it, instead leaning into the weirdness with charm. And as someone who loves a romantic comedy with just a splash of magic, this was right up my alley.

This was a super cute paranormal romance. It had great spooky season vibes, but it was definitely more focused on the romance.

I really loved the two main characters, they were so lovable from the very beginning. The side characters were also great and added to the story.

The book was also very funny and fun, I had a great time reading this.

In this story we meet Kirsty- An author, who is also known for her psychic abilities. We also meet Jasper, a news station segment producer, who is being haunted by his college roommate.
Kirsty gets roped into letting the station film her relieving Jasper of his ghost problem. The issue? She had never actually communicated with the dead. She is a total fraud- or so she thinks.
Desperate to not ruin her image and her career, she and Jasper work together to stop the haunting.
Secrets come to light, their romance comes to life and at the end they discover something they never expected.

This was a quick and easy read.
I thought it was quite cute, and I liked the spooky mysterious feel.

My favorite part of the story was reading about Kirsty, and her author alter-ego.
She dresses and behaves differently when she is doing interviews/book related things- and she feels like that is the “real her”. Despite being too afraid to be that person in her daily life.

The romance aspect of his novel was nice as well. I thought her and Jasper were nice together. However, I felt like Jasper was somewhat.. pushy, in a few scenes.
He was very physically interested in Kirsty, and that seemed to overtake his thoughts and actions at certain points.
It was not to an extreme and wasn’t really a huge deal. It was just something I noticed and felt I should point out.

Lastly, I am a sucker for a good plot twist- and this provided!
I thought the ending was great.

Overall, it was enjoyable.
I think it would be a nice read for the fall season, especially if you like magic/paranormal themes.
