All I can say is Wow! I loved this book from beginning to end. I did not know what to expect at all and was blown away. I love books that have that Holy Moly moment, and this book had more than one. I usually can figure out what will happen, but not with this story. I loved Walter Nash and the loyalty that remained a recurring theme throughout the book. I have read many David Baldacci books and I would rank this up there as one of his best!!

Baldacci does it again! This thriller follows Nash, a high-powered executive whose comfortable life is upended when the FBI forces him to go undercover. While the premise is gripping and the tension sharpens as Nash faces a ruthless criminal mastermind, the story’s real strength lies in its exploration of how far an ordinary man will go when pushed beyond his limits.

This was such a good book. It started out slow and steady and it just all of a sudden got so intense. I loved it and I can’t wait for more of this character. I hope it isn’t a standalone. David Baldacci never disappoints. Thanks for letting me preview this book.

Greed, spectacular amounts of greed , and Walter Nash went from
happily married with a lovely wife and teen daughter, to about as
low as one can go and still be alive to attempt to salvage what is
left of his family, himself and the people around him who he’s
either been fighting for or fighting with.
From the beginning, the cast of characters and amount of
wealth are more than most people ever see-but connections
have Nash in an enviable position. As one would guess, a
cold call from the FBI is NEVER a good thing, and when
they’re done with Nash, so much has changed forever..
Will he survive? Will any of them survive?
Mr Baldacci is in a class by himself here. The deep roots
in the story become more and less obvious, and as the
characters emerge, the story becomes believable in
in these scenarios and the terror is real !
My thanks to Grand Central Publishing for the copy

Nash Falls is another riveting thriller from the master of thrillers - David Baldacci. Walter Nash is a smart but reliable and law-abiding family man whose only concern was burying his estranged father when his life is thrown into chaos. Forced to reinvent himself, he returns with a vengeance the author executes very well. This was such a thrilling and engrossing read and I can't wait for more.
I got the ARC from Grand Central Publishing via Netgalley. This is my honest review.

I am unsure if this is a new series, but it could be, based on the ending. Walter Nash has a wonderful life, with a great job, loving wife and daughter, lots of money, and stature in the community. All is perfect until the FBI asks for his help with a case involving his company. Things go downhill from there, causing Walter lots of problems. The ending could cause some readers a bit of stress. Thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for providing an ARC.

Thank you, Grand Central Publishing, for providing the copy of Nash Falls by David Baldacci. I loved how well-drawn the characters were. Most of them were deeply unlikable, though! I wasn’t expecting the clever turns this book took, and I liked not knowing what to expect next. I was disappointed that the end was a cliffhanger, and would have preferred a complete story instead. I’m invested now, so I want to know how everything ends, but who knows how much I will care by the time book two comes out? It would have been a five-star book if there had been a real conclusion. 4 stars.

A big thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book.

I have read other books by David Baldacci but it's been a long time. One of these days I will go back and read some of his earlier works. So many books, so little time....

Other reviewers have provided detailed synopses, and I will not repeat their efforts here. Suffice it to say I stayed up way past my bedtime reading....

I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5 because I HATE CLIFF-HANGERS. Unless the book that tells the rest of the story comes out in the next month or two, my review will remain at 4 stars.

Nash Falls” centers on Walter Nash, a mild-mannered and successful businessman with a loving family and a quiet, structured life. Everything changes when the FBI approaches him with an extraordinary request: they want him to go undercover as their inside man to help expose a global crime network laundering money through his company, Sybaritic Investments.

The story explores themes of familial loyalty, the weight of the past, the search for justice, and the personal cost of stepping outside one’s comfort zone. Baldacci often weaves in the theme of personal redemption and the moral ambiguities involved in taking extraordinary action for the greater good.

Nash Falls” is a strong start to a new series, offering everything Baldacci fans crave: suspense, high drama, and a hero you can root for. It’s a page-turner with enough heart and moral ambiguity to invite deeper reflection, making it a worthwhile pick for both thriller aficionados and newcomers to Baldacci’s work.

“Nash Falls” by David Baldacci is a razor sharp, intelligent, and suspenseful thriller which sets us up for an exiting new series. The main character is someone you will want to root for instantly. He is a loyal, thoughtful and a brilliant family man until the FBI recruits him to become a whistleblower in the company he works for. He is forced to expose a powerful money laundering operation, and then framed for murder. He must transform his body & soul into someone who can fight for revenge and their own survival. This story is action packed, tension filled with an ending I never saw coming and the opening for book two. I loved this book and can’t wait for the sequel.

Thank you NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Net Galley, Grand Central Publishing and David Baldacci for allowing me to read this book early. David has always been a favorite author of mine and this book did not disappoint!
Walter Nash is an every day guy, works in the financial sector for Sybaritic in the mergers and acquisitions department. Making great money, married with one daughter. Living and working the American Dream. Good at his job and he enjoys it. This book definitely shows how quickly your life can turn around. Nash's Vietnam veteran father passes away and on the evening after his funeral, the FBI approaches Nash and turns his life upside down. They tell Nash, that he is working for a corrupt corporation and he can either be their guy on the inside or he can be on their list of those that will be prosecuted. The person, the owner of Nash's company is working with to launder money, is a deadly criminal mastermind the FBI has been trying to bring down for years.
After some time, Nash does not feel like he has a choice but to accept the FBI's demands. That choice will come back to haunt him over and over again. Things go so awry Nash finds himself, turning into a completely different person whose only goal is revenge! Along the way, Nash learns the truth about his strained relationship with his father, how important family truly is and how sometimes you just have to take a risk.
This book kept me enthralled and reading to the point where I did not even notice I was almost done with this book. It is an amazing book and will most certainly leave you wanting more of the story.

Wow, what an introduction to a new character and series! Walter Nash is an executive in an investment firm and is recruited by the FBI to turn informant. What follows that is a trail of twists, turns, heartache, and reinvention that continues to build during the storyline. The ending is the perfect cliffhanger to set up the next book, which I certainly hope comes out quickly after publication of this one.

With this book, we get a new central character, Walter Nash, who is a seemingly mild-mannered executive at Sybaritic Investments. Professionally respected, with a loving wife and devoted daughter, this man seems to be living the dream. Following several twists and turns, Nash is ultimately recruited by the FBI to act as an insider and bring down a money-laundering crime ring perpetrated by his associates, led by a chilling criminal mastermind, that infiltrates every corner of his business.

What begins as a covert mission quickly spirals out of control when he’s targeted as a fall guy, smeared and discredited in the most extreme way. He and his family are made to pay a terrible price. To survive and exact revenge, Nash allies with an unlikely resource and begins a transformation into a machine; the antithesis of everything he’s ever been before. This high-stakes thriller turns everything these characters think they know about loyalty, family and life absolutely upside down and forces unimaginable choices.

Like all of Baldacci’s books, this was an enjoyable and engrossing read. I look forward to more of this character. Thanks to Netgalley and Hachette for the ARC in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

Review: The first half of this novel is like wandering the story line forest while stumbling across the varied tropes and liberal perspectives. The setup for the entire novel plays out within the first few chapters as well. SHOCK, a huge black Vietnam vet with a heart of gold under that tough love is ever present. Gee I wonder if our hero will need his help while his hot wife is being banged by his psychopathic boss?

The second half of this novel is pretty dam good. Just suspend your disbelief when our hero goes to boot camp in the middle of nowhere, and Shock turns him into a dangerous accountant commando. Kind of a spin on the Taxi Driver meme. Going to a range and shooting a pistol, does not a shooter make. Static target practice is usesless. A big note to the author: THERE ARE NO POISON FROGS IN VIETNAM. Do your research.

What happens when your comfortable corporate life explodes overnight? This is Walter Nash's nightmare scenario—one minute he's climbing the ladder at an investment firm, the next he's being strong-armed by the FBI into becoming their inside-man spy to bring down a criminal enterprise at his place of work.

But here's where things got messy—and not always in a good way. The story morphs from corporate espionage thriller into a personal vendetta tale, and while I enjoyed the ride, it felt like two different books fighting for control. The mysterious Victoria Steers, supposedly this criminal mastermind, barely shows up on the page. For someone driving Nash's entire motivation, she's frustratingly ghostlike.

The revenge angle worked for me emotionally, even if some of Nash's transformations stretched credibility. Watching a buttoned-up executive embrace his darker instincts? That's compelling stuff, even when it goes a bit over the top.

My biggest frustration? That cliffhanger ending. After investing hours in Nash's journey, being left hanging for a sequel felt like a cheap move from an author who usually delivers complete stories with satisfying endings. Still, sometimes a book doesn't need to be perfect to be a fine read.

A big thank you to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for providing an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
