"Orchestrating Connection" is a thoughtful deep dive into what it takes to build a connected community and the anatomy of trust and relationships.
If you work in any capacity to bring people together (whether as an event planner, an educator, an activist, or a community organizer), this is definitely worth a read.
The authors present a simple framework, drawn from their experiences running numerous community building events. They spell out the tenets of what it takes to bring people together in meaningful ways, from how you frame the invitation, setting norms and expectations for the gathering, and building a culture of generosity and gratitude.
I really enjoyed this book and found many practical applications to my work. As someone who works in facilitation and organizing gatherings for adults in workplace settings, I found their ideas smart, accessible, and coming from a deeply human place.
