I was really excited to dive into this one, it had all the cozy fall vibes I was looking for. The beginning pulled me right into the story with the fun banter and some promising side characters. It felt like we were headed toward a great enemies to lovers setup.
But things shifted pretty quickly. The romance went from 0 to 100 almost instantly, and after that it was just the two main characters constantly talking about how amazing the other was and how they could not believe the other one was real. It started to feel so repetitive, like I was reading the same scene over and over.
As for the side characters, they started off strong but did not really develop, they just mostly went along with whatever the main characters were doing. I would've loved to learn more about Blaire and Julia they could've been full fleshed.
This book had so much potential, but it just did not fully land for me. That said, it still had sweet moments and I think some readers will enjoy the fast burn romance and fall setting.

Autumn works as a coffee shop in the small town of Cozy Creek. Zane is a billionaire who wants to escape the public eye and an ex who is spreading lies about him. Is it fate that brings them together? Can you truly be “meant to be”?

I may be in the unpopular opinion for this one, but I loved it. The magical aspect was so nicely done. Definitely an insta love, but I their chemistry was off the charts for me. The whole town had such a fun vibe. I loved the cuteness, but there is also a touch of grief, they are both going through the remains of previous relationships. The no boundaries with you concept was an immediate green flag and made me love Zane. He was always up front and truthful, plus he's a smoking hot billionaire so like, yum. I hope to return to Cozy Hollow soon.

"Fall I Want," you had me at “small-town, billionaire, fake dating” and “extra spice,” but damn, you also had me reaching for a fire extinguisher halfway through. This one’s like a PSL that starts sweet and cozy but then goes full ghost pepper without much warning. Buckle up.
Let’s get real, Cozy Creek sounds like the kind of place where every leaf crunch signals another pumpkin spice miracle. Autumn, our local coffee-shop queen and literal dreamer (she’s been dreaming of Zane, Mr. Dreamy, for years because why not?), is living the small-town comfort life with her besties Blair and Julie. Then in strolls Zane Alexander, billionaire and emotional hot mess, escaping his public breakup and his haunted family mansion. The setup screams charming fall rom-com, bonus points for the haunted house vibes because who doesn’t want a little ghostly flirtation with their latte?
But here’s the catch: the moment these two meet, everything speeds up like a rollercoaster that forgot its brakes. The “fake dating” trope? More like “fake for five minutes before it turns into full-on passion, banter, and desperate clinginess.” Zane insults Autumn’s coffee (yes, "shit" was actually the word) and immediately we’re supposed to believe in this instant soul bond that melts their clothes faster than you can say “pumpkin spice.” If insta-love was a crime, these two would be serving life sentences.
The emotional depth is there in the early chapters. I actually cared about their broken hearts, especially Zane’s haunted backstory and Autumn’s ex who creeps back like a zombie on a bad day. But the story bails on all that potential. Conflict? Tension? Nope. Instead, it’s an endless loop of “I love you” declarations and steamy scenes that feel less like passion and more like a marathon. The smut scenes definitely brought the heat, but after a while it felt like binge-watching a show where every episode is just one long makeout session.
There’s this weird vibe where the fall magic and Cozy Creek charm take a backseat to their nonstop lovey-dovey madness. I wanted pumpkin patches and apple picking. Instead, it felt like the volume on their affection was stuck at 11 the entire time. And the way things escalate to big commitment? Girl. It’s like they hit fast-forward on “how to build a believable relationship.”
On the upside, the minor characters are delightful little gems. Blair and Julie’s friendship with Autumn gave me all the cozy warm feels. Zane’s sister Harper’s psychic shenanigans added a sprinkle of the supernatural (whether you buy it or not). And shoutout to the supporting cast for bringing life to a plot that sometimes felt like it was on autopilot.
Writing-wise, Parish’s prose is simple and straightforward, maybe too straightforward for this dramatic mess. I craved more figurative language, more emotional layers, more anything beyond surface-level mush. But hey, sometimes you just want to switch your brain off and sip on something spicy without thinking too hard, and this fits that bill.
So yeah, "Fall I Want" is basically a pumpkin spice latte that unexpectedly decided to add three shots of espresso and a jalapeño. It’s sweet, it’s hot, it’s cozy, but also a little rushed, a little messy, and a lot “oh god, not another love confession.” If you want a seasonal romance to snuggle under a blanket with, knowing you’ll get plenty of sexy times and zero third-act meltdowns, this might just be your vibe.
3.5 stars because I loved the cozy fall setting and the characters, but the insta-love plus smut overload combo was a bit too much. Still, I’ll pick up the next Cozy Creek drop because, damn it, I’m a sucker for this cozy town and smutty chaos.
Big thanks to Avon, Harper Voyager, and NetGalley for the ARC! Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate that special paperback edition with the stenciled edges? Honestly, if books could flirt, this one just winked and walked away with my p̶a̶n̶t̶i̶e̶s̶ heart.

this just wasn’t hooking me. i think it was a me problem mostly but I felt like we were jumping around a lot for such a short time and I wasn’t able to connect with either of the main characters.

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon and Harper for this ARC.
Look, I’ll get this right out there - this is cheesy in a Hallmark movie kind of way. I didn’t realize when I signed up for this that magic was gonna play such a hand in the book. That’s not really my thing. There was a lot of suspending my reality (like, you’re telling me this random barista in a tiny town in Colorado has dated a NFL player, an MLB player, a professional snowboarder and is now with a billionaire? …okay) but I did enjoy the story for the most part.
The cover drew me in - it’s absolutely beautiful, I’ll give it that. But while I don’t mind a little bit of cheese, this wasn’t exactly my cup of tea.

Confession: I 100% requested this one for the fabulous cover. 🍂 And with temps in the 90s here, I was desperate to manifest fall — so a cozy, small-town, pumpkin-patch romance felt like the perfect place to start.
Fall I Want by Lyra Parish was also the exactly palate cleanser I needed after a stack of thrillers — light, cute, and extremely spicy. (Fair warning: if foul language or explicit scenes aren’t your thing, this might not be for you!)
Autumn runs a coffee shop in the charming Colorado mountain town of Cozy Creek. She’s content with her predictable life… until a drop-dead gorgeous stranger, Alex, walks in and their eyes lock. He’s the man from her dreams — literally — but instead of banter and butterflies, he grumps about his drink and storms out. Turns out, Alex is fresh off a very public breakup and is trying to guard his heart.
Of course, the chemistry is impossible to ignore, and when Autumn’s ex shows up wanting her back, she grabs Alex’s hand and claims he’s her boyfriend. And let’s just say… fake dating never stayed fake for long.
Originally released in 2024, this steamy fall romance is set to rerelease August 19, 2025 — and as of today, all six books in the series are free for Kindle Unlimited.
Big thanks to NetGalley, Lyra Parish, and the publishers for letting me escape into this delectably steamy, pumpkin-spiced love story. 🍁

This spicy fall romance sweeps you away to an idealistic small mountain that celebrates everything fall. There you have the FMC working at the local coffee shop with her best friends, not doing what she thought she would be, but happy enough. One day the man from her dreams stops in and she assumes he’s visiting her town for the festivities and is thankful, because he is a surly, pompous man. Little did she know the MMC owns the house on the hill that is reportedly haunted and he’s there to hide away and heal.
Two broken people come together in a clash of fall magic that will sweep you off your feet and transport you back to why you read romances. With no third act break up this truly is a romance that keeps on giving. The minor characters are so amazing in this story. Loving and so supportive of one another, except for one crazy woman, who it’s ok to dislike. Everyone else is so great you want to see a book for them.
I received an eARC of #FallIWant from NetGalley in lieu of my honest opinion and review of the book.

This book had me grinning like an idiot and kicking my feet in the air. It’s flirty, fun, and brimming with chemistry, but it also has that emotional undercurrent that makes the romance feel genuine. Lyra Parish just knows how to craft banter that feels effortless and moments that make your heart ache in the best way.

Fall I Want is like wrapping up in a warm blanket with a pumpkin spice latte on a crisp October day. When billionaire Zane Alexander comes to Cozy Creek, the last thing our FMC expects is to become his fake girlfriend or to start falling for him. Between flirty banter, exes who won’t stay gone, and a plan to fake date through the holidays, sparks turn into something real. With small town charm, swoony romance, and just the right dash of spice, this autumn inspired love story will leave you smiling long after the last page

I read a lot of romance books. This was one of the most cringeworthy romance books I have ever read. This reads like bad fan fiction. This was not for me. I thought I was going to like this. Don't like the pretty book fool you.

Sweet, Spicy, and Perfectly Fall-Flavored!
This book brought the heat and the heart! A broody, broken billionaire who falls first? Yes, please. Add in fake dating, small-town charm, and off-the-charts chemistry, and I was hooked. Zane and Autumn’s slow burn quickly turns into a fiery connection that had me flipping pages fast. The banter is flirty, the spice is chef’s kiss, and the emotional moments hit just right.
Perfect for when you want something sexy but feel-good, with a delicious dose of fall vibes. Cozy Creek, you have my heart (and probably my next book boyfriend too).
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book definitely felt like a Hallmark Christmas movie, but set in the fall. There's some fake dating and I want to say fated mates tropes in this book, the main male character is her dream man... literally. Like she's had dreams with him in them for years. The main male character's sister predicted he would meet his forever love. Lots of heavy leaning on magic brought them together, feels like fate. They both fall fast and hard, it almost feels a little rushed. In the beginning I thought there was going to be an enemies to lovers arc, but that fizzled out so quickly because the magic between them was so strong. I do like that there was no third act break-up, but at the same time it felt like the story was missing something. I think I wanted more buildup to the romance, it all felt a little too fast and too serious right away. The spicy scenes were pretty good, can't complain about that.
Honestly this was a fun light read, I'd recommend it if want to read something lighthearted and sweet.

3.5 stars rounded down
This was a nice, cozy Fall read! There were a lot of elements of this book that I did like and I thought the first half was particularly strong. Something just seemed to be missing for me. Maybe I've been reading too many romances lately, but nothing about this book really stood out to make it unique.
What little plot there was got lost and it turned into a $ex fest at the end. I love some good smut, but it just felt overdone at the end. There's only so many back to back scenes that you can read before it all runs together. And Zane and Autumn couldn't keep their hands off each other for an hour while at his father's wedding? It gets kind of disrespectful at some points.
Maybe I liked the first half of the book because it did focus more on Autumn and Zane's feelings of depression and being lost. I genuinely felt for them and loved seeing Autumn's friendship with Blair and Julie and Zane's relationship with his sister, Harper. I didn't particularly care for the back and forth of Zane and Autumn wanting to be together and then stepping back, saying it was just an arrangement. I was getting whiplash. Everything just turned to sugar and $ex after that and it left me feeling unfulfilled.
I would recommend this book if you want a fluffier, seasonal romance, but be warned it may leave a sense of disappointment.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a chance to read this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Traditions, rituals and generations of family celebrate Fall in this pleasant town. Autumn works at the “Cozy Coffee” and in walks Zane with that look in his eyes. Autumn is speechless, her Mr. Dreamy, from her very own dreams has walked through the door. It’s a lust of firsts and sheer sweetness! A few secrets and surprises as they play 21 questions to get to know one another.
It’s a whirlwind of temptation, desire and destiny. 3.5/5
If you like a small town romance, all the feels of Fall and quite a bit of spice, this one’s for you! Fall is waiting, grab this August 19!
Thanks to @Avonbooks, @HarperVoyagerUS, @LyraParish and @netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I liked it a lot. But it wasn’t my all time favorite Lyra Parish book. It started off super strong and really held my interest and then it kind of just turned into your typical Hallmark movie ending. Like with a pumpkin ball and stuff. Also, I could totally be wrong on this but in the other books that Zane’s sister is in…I don’t remember her being kind of “psychic”. Not a big deal but it was focused on a lot in this story.
I really loved Zane and Autumn. I loved them getting to know each other and just finding happiness together. I loved seeing characters from other books in the Lyra Parish universe. It was really a fun read!

Zane the sexy billionaire who owns the “haunted house” and whose family owns the local ski resort comes to town to get away from the gossip his ex is spreading about him. He needs some quiet, alone time.
He doesn’t expect to fall in love with the Autumn the local coffee barista.
Meet Autumn, just coming out of horrible relationship. Zane walks into the coffee shop one day and Autumn realizes he is the man from her dreams.
When they decide to fake date to make Autumn ex jealous and gives Zane a date to his dad’s wedding soon the fake dating becomes real.
If you love spice, magic, fake dating, cozy town, billionaires, he falls first and Autumn vibes then you need to read this.

♡ Instant spark, insta-love
♡ Billionaire hero
♡ Cozy small-town romance
♡ Sweet happily ever after
♡ Touch of witchy magic

Welcome to Cozy Creek!!! I could’ve had picked a better book to kick off all things fall.. I loved this book so much!! It gave all the cozy hallmark vibes, with just the right amount of spice. This is also my third book from this author and she has truly become one of my favorite author discoveries this year.
Autumn has loved in Cozy Creek most of her life and for the last decade she’s been having dreams about the same man, but she always seem to wake up when she asked him if he’s real. So imagine her surprise when a man walks into the coffee shop and looks exactly like her McDreamy…
Alex aka Zane is a billionaire in town to get a break from her chaotic life and visit the home his family had in town mom had for the first time in 20 years.. while also thinking about the prophecy that his sister had that he would fall in love in Cozy Creek. So when he visited the coffee shop, he was instantly attracted to Autumn and couldn’t understand the pull she had on him.
I started reading this book and could not put it it down! I honestly loved everything about this story.. it was almost instalove but it was done perfectly!!! Zane and Autumn were just perfection! I loved how they barely gave the fake relationship a chance for they both were all in.. and them sharing their inner thoughts and her dreams was truly magical!
Their instant connection, mixed in with the banter plus all the magical elements, and the fun and non sense from Harper, Julie and Blaire just made it even better.. oh and I loved the pop in from the Calloway brothers and Carlee..I also like how Autumn helped Zane work on some of his important relationships in his life..
I highly recommend, and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series, because I really want to know how Nicolas and Jules know each other.
