While this is a cute book, it felt rushed and disjointed in parts on top of various plot points and dialogue feeling forced. I felt like the author just needed to relax a little more while writing.

Unfortunately I didn’t love this one as much as I was hoping. The plot was cute and it was a very fast read. The first half of this book was so promising and I found myself flying through the pages. Unfortunately the second half lost me and I felt like I was reading a completely different story. I adored the fall vibes and the meet cute between these two had me on my toes.

This book is super cute and a quick easy read. I really enjoyed how everything panned out for the characters and cannot wait to read the next book in the series

Fall I Want by Lyra Parish is a fun, fall-themed rom-com that checks all the boxes for a cozy, low-stakes escape: small town charm, fake dating, and a brooding billionaire with a soft side. It’s got plenty of pumpkin spice vibes and just the right amount of heat to keep things interesting. Zane and the narrator have decent chemistry, and the fake-dating setup, while familiar, is executed with some sweet, playful moments. The story leans into tropes, which will appeal to fans of the genre looking for something comforting and predictable.
That said, the emotional stakes don’t always land. The characters feel a little underdeveloped, and the romance moves so fast it’s hard to really feel the weight of their connection. The return of the exes adds drama, but not much depth. This is a quick, cozy read for rom-com lovers who enjoy lighthearted love stories with seasonal flair. It may not leave a lasting impression, but it’s a decent way to spend a chilly evening with a blanket and a latte.

Thank you NetGalley and Avon for this E- ARC copy.

Fall I Want had me reading nonstop! This extra spicy story kept my attention the whole time and had me wanting to find out where Autumn and Zanes story will end. Small town romance stories are one of my favorites and in the front of the book the author Lyra Parrish gives a playlist to go with it, I love good music to read to. Tropes are billionaire romance, fake dating, he falls first.

I loved the dynamic that they had. Autumn and Zane are absolutely so cute. It’s fun, swoony, romantic and pure softness. I love a small town romance throw in a billionaire and I’m in my happy place! The book also has lots of fun side characters and a happy ending that you’ll definitely love! Loved the cozy and romantic feels so very much!

Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager for providing an advanced copy to review.

Fall I Want started as a cozy, slice of life story that seemed to maybe have in some small paranormal elements. It quickly evolves into a quite spicy, insta-love, billionaire romance that felt kind of disjointed and rushed. It simultaneously was trying to do too much and failed at giving the characters enough depth to justify their arcs.

2.5 stars.

"Fall I Want" by Lyra Parish starts fine enough. I enjoyed the fall puns, the early September/October Halloween happenings, the small town gatherings for the pumpkin patch/fall festival, the coffee shop closeness and friendships, the ghostly allusions, the love spells/talk of dreams, etc. It's as if it's a Hallmark (Fallmark???? See what I did there???) movie, but make it a book. The bones of a good book are there, but it feels like a bit of wasted potential in the end. I enjoyed Autumn as the main female character. Though Zane is portrayed as a "good billionaire," I still can't help but think he never fully recognizes his privilege. I liked how Autumn was going to write a book for Zane, but that plot point gets dropped by the wayside just as soon as it is introduced. That's the biggest issue I have here. Several plot points are started but never come to fruition, or are simply given one sentence at the end of the book, so it doesn't look like they were forgotten. I absolutely hated the haikus she wrote and cringed every single time I read one, so maybe she shouldn't quit her day job??? Blessing in disguise??? I enjoyed Zane and Autumn's banter, but their story goes from 0-100 (MARRIAGE!) really, really quickly! The first 50% of this book is solid, but it goes downhill from there. The book moves quickly, though it could have been at least 100 pages shorter. I feel like the firs portion is so well thought out, while the back portion is rushed and long at the same time??? There are several false endings here that made me annoyed. A lot of it felt forced (especially with the premonition/dream storyline) and unnecessary. All in all, this may be someone's cup of tea, but I couldn't wait for it to be over.

Thank you to NetGalley, Lyra Parish, Avon, and Harper Voyager for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

This book was... okay. It has so much potential, but while the first half of the book was so good with a meet-cute and wonderfully cozy fall vibes, the second half was... not it. What feels like every interaction between the mcs was a love declaration with pretty much no plot to speak of. This book was waaaaay too long for how the story played out.

The cover of this book is stunning, and I was super excited to read it!
This definitely gave me Hallmark vibes! The plot is wonderful, and it has such good promise to it, but I feel like it just needed a bit more improvement on the pacing for both the plot and the relationships. It felt like we were jumping from feeling to feeling and place to place within one page of each other, so it was honestly kind of confusing. The beginning of the book was wonderful with a strong and promising hook that I really enjoyed, but towards the middle, it started to get confusing, and unexpected things started to pop up that just felt out of place. I feel like the whole Protect me from my ex part was about 2 percent of the whole book.
I did love the banter, and the characters were pretty fun! Overall, I will probably read more from this author!

1.5 rounded up….

This has a beautiful cover and intriguing blurb but sadly, it just didn’t deliver the magic I hoped for. The second half felt rushed and kind of lost the charm that hooked me in the beginning. The marriage plot came out of nowhere, and the “protect me from my ex” angle fizzled fast. It had such strong Hallmark energy and swoony promise, but the pacing and lack of emotional depth left me wanting more. Still, if you’re looking for cozy vibes and don’t mind a little chaos, it might be your thing it just wasn’t mine! 🤷🏽‍♀️

This is the third Lyra Parish book I’ve read. Honestly, it feels like a completely different author. The pacing was chaotic. The two main characters were on a date when they decided to “fake date”. There were so many unnecessary parts to a cozy fall story (going to New York and getting a makeover, the pizza in Las Vegas).
The only saving grace was getting snippets of Easton, Weston and Billie from The Wite Situation and The Friend Situation.
The falling in love part was more telling than showing. Whenever there was a conflict, Zane bought his way out of it.
No third act breakup. No real story of growth and love.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book!

The whole time I was thinking there is no reason the male main character isn’t a warewolf or a vampire or something paranormal. I think it would have fixed a lot about the book like why he is so stilted or why the pace of the relationship is extreme. Def a missed opportunity.

I don't always dislike insta-love stories but this one just wasn't it for me. I felt like there was absolutely no build up, not even a third act conflict that broke up the monotony of love. I am giving it a 3 for all the cozy fall vibes alone.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the E-ARC.

A gorgeous cover! This fun and flirty story had me lost in the pages. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. It was a great escape and made me crave PSLs and leaves changing. This will be great for fans of small towns, fall festivals, and cute banter between characters.

Agh - I wanted this to be good the whole way through but…. It just felt like all the vibes and energy where there at the start and somehow it died off? I received an eARC and honesty devoured the first half. I wasn’t a huge fan of one of the MC but hey, the vibe and setting were sooo fall and so good that I just pushed through.
However, due to the second half of the book, had I known it’d go that way idk if I would’ve put up from the 20% mark onwards 😅
If there’s any more after this, I’d love to see something happen towards the end rather than it falling off

This book exceeded my expectations. I do wish I read it in the fall instead of the beginning of the summer. Zane and autumns love story is adorable. It moves fast, but when you know you know. We all hope, wish, and dream that we can be whisked away by a man who’s handsome, can fuck, and has endless pockets. It def gave me hallmark movie vibes. I also enjoyed the witchy things in it, with the love spells and prophecies, and how Zane was truly manifested from her dreams

My only complaint would be certain areas I had to reread conversations because I didn’t know who was talking

Get your pumpkin spice lattes and cozy blankets out because Fall I want by Lyra parish is pure cozy autumnal romance!

Autumn and Zane are absolutely so cute. It's like hallmark but make it spicy. She's fake dating the billionaire because of course, she would but its fun, swoony, romantic and pure softness. I loved the dynamic that they had and the low angst that the book had. You go into this knowing what you'll get with a small town romance, lots of fun side characters, a happy ending and a quaint town and it was so good! It's cozy, romantic and fun and you will have that warm fuzzy feeling after reading!

The beginning had me thinking I was about to be fully obsessed. It starts strong, the vibes are autumnal, and the setup is classic small-town fake dating goodness. I was ready to fall in love with Zane and all of Cozy Creek.

But somewhere along the way, things stopped matching the blurb. The ex-boyfriend that was supposed to stir up drama? Barely there. That whole “he’s protecting me from my ex” thing? Not really a thing. It felt like the story promised something it never actually delivered on.

Zane was cute, the banter was fun, and the setting gave Hallmark movie energy, but the plot didn’t quite stick the landing. Still a sweet read, just not the one I thought I was getting.
