Thank you so much for letting me read this manga. I very much enjoyed about a couple that don't need big Drama to Fall in love.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for the opportunity to read and review this manga. Think Given but less dramatic and most definitely explicit (think no ghost pene). However, I honestly do not have much else to say otherwise. Because of these points, I have to give this a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Interesting plot and decent chemistry. Art style was nice, wasn’t sure about it from the cover. Would like to see more.

I loved this so much. The art was amazing, the story was fun, and the chemistry between them is undeniable. I really loved it and seeing these two get together while in the public eye and seeing also their love for music

Two college students in opposing bands fall in love through their art. I liked the setting — them being surrounded by music, performing concerts, and practicing in a studio, etc. I also enjoyed seeing their interactions with their band members.
The development of their feelings was deeply connected to their admiration for each other’s musical talents, which was fine, but I would have liked to see them fall in love with each other’s personalities more. That said, in such a short story, that’s a very difficult thing to achieve.
I thank NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the arc!

Shout Loud, My Heart is an incredible debut by this author, and I LOVED it.
This entire story had all the best vibes of GIVEN with a great new one-shot feel. I really loved the concept of a guitarist obsessed with another band's singer, and the singer obsessed with another band's guitarist. It had great potential for enemies-to-lovers, but they were never enemies and I loved that more than anything. I loved that they appreciated each other's abilities and talents, regardless of being on opposites sides of a Battle of the Bands competition.
The artwork was lovely and did a great job of showcasing the emotions of both the main characters: Mika and Gen. The addition of bonus shorts at the end were really fun.
I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

Thanks to Net Galley and Kodansha for the ARC.
This is a cute one shot about two boys in two different bands finding each other. Gen plays guitar for a band, while Mike, or Mike, sings in another. Mike is a fan of Gen, and Gen falls pretty hard for Mike once he hears him sing. They meet and realize they go to the same college, so they start spending time together and things blossom from there.
I think this would have been great as a 2-3 volume series to really flesh out the characters and relationship, but it works well enough here. It's a fairly surface level story since it is just one volume, but the characters are likable and the relationship is sweet.

a BL music band manga with a little bit of spice? My good soup.
Gen is a college student and guitarist who belongs to a fairly famous indie band. In contrast, we have "Mike," the singer of another band whose voice enchants anyone who hears it. And that's exactly what happens to Gen—once he hears Mike's voice, he can't stop thinking about him.
It’s a standalone volume with a really beautiful story where: 1. There’s no rivalry between bands, and 2. Friendship turns into something more as quickly as a chord change. Since it's a standalone volume, don't expect a slow-burn romance—but if you're looking for a sweet story that keeps you smiling the whole time, this manga is for you. Personally, I would have loved for it to be a longer series, because Mika and Gen were absolutely adorable.

I just finished Shout Loud, My Heart and y’all—this was such a fun read. It’s a one-shot manga, so you’re getting a complete story in one volume, and honestly, I ate it up. If you're into M/M romance, band dynamics, and just a little bit of spice, this one’s for you.
We follow Gen, the guitarist for the band Eve, and Mika (nicknamed Mike), the vocalist for rival band Adam. The setup alone had me hooked—Eve and Adam, seriously? Iconic. Their chemistry was instant, and while the story leans into a few classic manga tropes like misunderstandings and tension, you could really feel how much these two were drawn to each other.
Now let’s talk about the spice. This manga is marketed as spicy, but keep in mind: it’s mostly a slow burn. There’s just one uncensored scene toward the end. It’s brief but solid—but if you’re going in expecting something super steamy throughout, just adjust your expectations. Personally? I wouldn’t have minded a little more after the relationship kicked off. Let us linger in the together part for once, right?
That said, it was still really enjoyable. I love slice-of-life manga, and I’m used to how one-shots work—you get a vibe, a story, a spark, and then the curtain closes. Could it have gone deeper? Sure. Did I still enjoy every page? Absolutely.
✨ M/M romance
✨ Music + band vibes
✨ Soft angst + longing
✨ Slight spice, mostly sweet
✨ One-shot goodness
Thanks to NetGalley and Kodansha for the ARC. It’s officially out now, so if you’re into queer manga and quick romantic reads, Shout Loud, My Heart is a great pick to dive into next.

The story was cute and worked for the most part. But that ending was perfect. I loved every minute of it. Definitely the spiciest BL manga I have read so far.

A fun one shot BL manga. Could have possibly been better as a 2-3 shot in order to better flesh out side characters and make certain moments feel less rushed, but nonetheless it was a book I enjoyed reading and I would recommend it to a friend.

Thanks to the NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC copy of "Shout Loud, My Heart". This has not affected my review at all, which are my own thoughts.
Two college students, Gen and "Mike", play for rival bands, Eve and Adam, respectively. Gen's fingers fly by his guitar's strings, while "Mike" has a voice of which angels are jealous. They meet by chance at a late night gig, where Gen soon finds himself captivated by Mike's voice. And, the next day, when he finds out that they go to the same university, is on. They spend more time together, on stage, out of it, wherever and whenever they can, building a relationship that will change it all for them and for their music.
So, as I always say, romance stories are a hit or miss with me, no in between. So I'm always weary to read romance manga with just one volume because they might not get as enough pages to develop as other stories (not saying longer format is better, 'cause that can backfire too, of course), and so they have to encompassed much in little. Fortunately, it wasn't the case, for Shout Loud, My Heart develops a very cute romance between Gen and Mike, even touching in some profound themes of identity and musical aspects.
As I said, I found the romance cute, compelling and developing at a great pace, even within the limited space of one volume. Gen and Mike complement each other, spend a lot of time together, which makes the relationship and romance seem far more realistic for me and even grow together as people. The supporting cast of friends and band members was also amazing and felt quite real as they had their own motivations and little goals and even interactions of their own that showed that rivalry flourishing in a healthy way and even almost taking the protagonist part instead of the romance.
I laughed with the characters, sometimes even got frustrated by their actions but, by the end and most importantly, I enjoyed their story and rooted for them to get together. I probably shouldn't have favorites in a romance, because both Gen and mike have their betters and their worses, but I'm gonna pick Gen, because I related to him more than Mike.
Overall, a wholesome relationship, well developed characters and an interesting background that added to the mix. I must say, I'm starting to like romances with a musical background far more than I expected: this one, Pink Heart Jam, The Guy She was interested in wasn't a Guy at all... Yeah, I'm seeing a pattern here😂 Not complaining though
Definitely recommending this manga to romance lovers and music lovers as well; fast paced, sweet romance, three dimensional characters and great art

this was absolutely precious. we follow gen, the lead guitarist of eve, and mika, the lead singer of adam. their paths crossed and from there something so beautiful emerged. there is just something about a connection made through music that makes my heart feel full! it reminded me of twilight out of focus, but make it band version. for being a stand-alone, i felt like the pacing was good and you could feel the romance build between mika and gen. i loved seeing the dynamics between the two bands filled with banter. the extras were the fluffiest moments ever. the art was just comforting to look at if that makes sense, i just felt at peace while reading this one. and to top it all off, the height difference was *mwah* beautiful.
✶ thank you netgalley and kodansha for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review ✶

Gen and Mike are two college musicians playing in different bands, drawn to each other by their talent. After Gen realizes they attend the same school, the two begin to grow closer—and what starts as mutual admiration gradually deepens into something more.
For a relatively short one-shot with pretty straightforward premise, ‘Shout Loud, My Heart’ packs a surprising punch. Through their interactions, we really get to know Gen and Mike as individuals. They’re opposites in many ways, but the chemistry between them is electric—I was giggling and kicking my feet the whole time. I especially love how both characters express themselves through music, be it intentionally or subconsciously. It adds another layer of realness and emotional depth to the story.
Even with the short length, the pacing is incredibly well-done. The relationship development doesn’t feel rushed or forced at all. It unfolds naturally, with a softness and intimacy that gave me butterflies. I’ve already gone back and reread certain scenes more than once.
The thing about a really good one-shot is that it leaves you wanting more. We do get a few sweet extras after they become a couple, but I’m still desperate for more. I want to see how they are together in a domestic setting, or how their relationship might influence their music. Even the side characters—mostly their bandmates—are so fun and full of potential! There’s so much room for a sequel here.
But as it stands, ‘Shout Loud, My Heart’ is about as close to perfect as a one-shot can get in my heart.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for this ARC.
I adored this manga. The two main characters, Gen and Mika were adorable. Their relationship progressed in a normal way, to me. It did not feel too rushed when it came to their story. I love the aspects of them being in two different bands and admiring the other instead of immediately hating the other. Their relationship was really cute. I enjoyed them being friends first and then building off of that as Gen discovers his feelings for Mika. Their entire timeline felt more organic than some other works I read and I was giddy for them to get together! Overall, a great manga!

This was cute but I wish it was a bit longer. I wanted more time with Gen and Mika. I do like how we got to know them as sort of rivals to friends to lovers. Honestly I could've done without the spicy scenes because it didn't seem to fit into this story. The musical aspects was fun and kind of reminded me of Given even though the MCs are in opposite bands. The artwork was also beautiful.

Perhaps by virtue of it being a fairly short one shot, this manga felt very weirdly placed. Mika is a fun love interest, but the random brief switch to his POV felt out of place. This is the first explicit manga I’ve read, so perhaps this is par for the course for the genre, but the sex scene felt somewhat independent of the rest of the story. I enjoyed it as a quick read, but it didn’t grip me.

Shout Loud, My Heart is a gentle, music-filled love story that explores the blossoming relationship between two young men whose paths cross through the world of college rock bands. At its core, it’s a manga about connection – not just emotional or romantic, but also artistic, creative, and deeply personal.
The story centers on Gen, a somewhat reserved college student and guitarist in a band called Eve. After a performance one night, he meets Mike – open, charismatic, and blessed with a voice that immediately draws Gen in. There’s something about the way Mike speaks and carries himself that leaves a lasting impression. As chance would have it, they meet again the very next day and realize they both attend the same college. Slowly but surely, their paths begin to align.
What starts with admiration soon develops into something deeper. Gen finds himself drawn not only to Mike’s voice, but to his presence, his energy, and the ease with which he navigates the world. And as their friendship grows into something more, the story unfolds with a steady, quiet warmth. There are no major twists or dramatic obstacles – just two people gradually discovering each other through shared moments and the mutual language of music.
This simplicity is both the manga’s strength and, for me personally, its slight weakness. It’s undeniably a sweet and wholesome romance, but it lacked that extra spark or tension that might have made the emotional beats hit harder. I kept hoping for a moment that would surprise me or pull me in more deeply, but it never quite arrived. Still, it’s a story that treats its characters and their emotions with great tenderness.
One of the most refreshing elements was the reason behind their attraction. So often in stories like this, characters fall in love at first sight, with little explanation beyond physical looks. Here, however, Gen falls for Mike’s voice – not just the sound of it, but what it represents: confidence, vulnerability, and passion. Mike, in turn, admires Gen’s musical talent. Their connection grows out of artistic respect and emotional resonance rather than surface-level attraction, and that adds a thoughtful layer to their relationship.
Although the manga is rated PG-16 and does include a romantic and physical relationship, it’s never explicit or gratuitous. Everything is handled with care, focusing more on the emotional intimacy than anything else. Any moments of physical closeness are quiet and meaningful, grounded in genuine affection rather than pure desire.
By the end, Shout Loud, My Heart leaves you with the feeling of having witnessed a soft, genuine romance unfold between two kind souls. It may not be groundbreaking or heart-racing, but it’s honest and comforting in its own way – like the last few notes of a mellow song that lingers in your chest. Perfect for readers who enjoy music-themed stories, slow-burn connections, and the quiet courage it takes to say how you truly feel.

Thank you so much to the author, Kodansha, and Netgalley for the digital ARC!
Whether it's through the act of listening or playing itself, music is a hobby that can universally bring people together. So what happens when two college students are brought together by their active involvement in rock bands and fall in love because of it?
Shout Loud, My Heart is a one-shot manga volume that centers around Gen, the guitarist for the band Eve, and Mika (aka Mike), the lead singer for the band Adam. The two meet at a live house where their bands play on the same night and an unexpected connection forms when Gen and Mika make eye contact during Gen's performance. What follows is a heartwarming story of two individuals, opposite in personalities, who grow closer and learn to open up to each other despite their social reputations at school and in music.
I enjoy a love story with a classic "opposites attract" romance trope. Gen and Mika's banters came off as naturally realistic, and for a single-volume story, their relationship still managed to feel like a slow-burn romance. I also liked seeing the different ways that Gen and Mika interacted with their friends and bandmates, including an additional layer of showing just how different they approach life.
I did sort of wish there were more pages dedicated to developing Gen and Mika's romance and highlighting various supporting characters. With the number of side characters that were featured, I think this manga could've benefitted from being a short series so there was just a little more character and relationship depth given to all the characters.
Nonetheless, I still recommend this manga if you're a fan of rock music and BL couples that resemble a grumpy x sunshine dynamic. Here's to hoping for a potential sequel volume!

Shout Loud, My Heart is a cute and inoffensive book. It hits all the right notes but not much more. I believe that it being a one-shot is not to its benefit. The characters are sweet and sort of interesting, enough for me to finish, but a little one-note. The conflict is pretty standard but not super dramatic, which I liked. The drawings are one of the highlights of the book for me, you can tell Youga Rayri is talented. I would maybe like to read other things from this author, they have potential.
