this was so cute!!! i love mangas about bands and music beacuse they always convey the character's love for it so beautifully. even without hearing the music, you can feel it through their emotions. and the way it ties down with the character's feelings to each other is even mroe beautiful.
the story is really fluffy, without unnecessary drama, and having a slikce-of-life feel to it. it follows a bass guitarist and a vocalist from two different bands (one is called Eve and another one is Adama hehe). i love how first they become friends, become natural with each other and then it developes into something bigger.
visually, the manga is pretty as well. all the characters' designs are really fun and unique. it's like a manifestation of their personality, making the story even more enjoyable.

shout loud my heart is a charming contemporary band romance with a grumpy sunshine relationship.
the art style is accessible and it’s an easy, sweet read for people who like bl stories.
in my opinion it could’ve benefited from a slowed down pacing, and there were parts where things were phrased in confusing ways.
also just in case that’s a win or lose for someone: there’s one sex scene. do with that information what you will.
i imagine over all it delivers on what’s expected.

Two band members from rival bands start talking and getting to know each other. They attend the same college and quickly realize they admire each other’s musical talent—both the way they play and sing. This is a slow-burn love story filled with music, collaboration, and a few heartfelt misunderstandings along the way. It's a sweet and emotional journey of connection through shared passion.

Shout Loud, My Heart by Youga Rayri is a passionate and sweet BL one-shot that hits the spot. Gen, a quiet college student and guitarist, isn't looking for anything serious until he meets Mike, a soft-spoken, confident guy whose voice alone is enough to make Gen's heart skip a beat. Their connection is instant, and as they keep running into each other, what begins as a casual attraction slowly turns into something deeper and harder to ignore.
The story may be short, but it packs a punch. The chemistry between Gen and Mike is electric, and the art enhances every glance, every touch, in a way that feels intimate and real. It's sexy, yes, but there's an underlying tenderness that makes it even more satisfying. If you like BL with the perfect blend of passion and heart, this one is definitely worth a read.

I was desperately on the hunt for a swoony and rocking BL one-shot and Shout Loud, My Heart is exactly what I was looking for! This manga follows the love story between Gen, the guitarist of popular college band Eve, and Mike, the dreamy and favored lead singer of Adam. With beautiful art, a great black cat/golden retriever relationship, and such a great depiction of what it means to fall in love with someone as they play their music, I highly recommend this manga!

Thanks to Net Galley and Kodansha for the ARC.
This is a cute one shot about two boys in two different bands finding each other. Gen plays guitar for a band, while Mika, or Mike, sings in another. Mike is a fan of Gen, and Gen falls pretty hard for Mike once he hears him sing. They meet and realize they go to the same college, so they start spending time together and things blossom from there.
I think this would have been great as a 2-3 volume series to really flesh out the characters and relationship, but it works well enough here. It's a fairly surface level story since it is just one volume, but the characters are likable and the relationship is sweet.

This was a perfectly adequate BL manga; that's the only way I know how to put it, honestly. It was entertaining, but it didn't offer anything new to the genre.

Shout loud, my heart was such a sweet little BL. I love the character so much. And the drawing was phenomenal. I especially like when they do the facial expressions and you see all their emotions. And I love the fact when they stare at each other, you can just tell that they light up each other‘s world. Gen and Mika both gravity towards each other. They are opposites because they are grumpy sunshine. And I like the fact that Gen is open and honest about what he wants to the people that he’s close to. Also, how he tells his emotions through music. And I like Mika because he’s such a sweet generous person. And I like the way that he fell for Gen. Because you can tell just how much these to care about each other. When they’re with each other, especially when they’re on stage singing music. Overall, I really did enjoy the story very much and I love the little bonus chapters at the end.

-music, BL
- couple pages toward the end with spicy scenes
For a music related manga, I actually liked it. When music is involved sometimes it's hard to potray in draws/words alone but for me this was a better one.
Knowing it was a Oneshot, I knew the story would move along quickly. Although I do wish there was a bit more development for Gen & Mika and it not coming off as the sole reason why they like each other is because of how they sing/play. But as it progresses you can see that what starts as that starts to move toward more of a romantic feeling of wanting to be with each other -although there is that awkward moment in-between of them focusing on the battle before they let the music speak for how they feel toward the other.
The art really draws you in with the characters at times

This was a cute one-shot for what it was. I liked the dynamic between Mika and Gen and was overall invested in their relationship for the entire time. I liked the side characters/the other band members. Their conversations and banter felt very real and normal, which made them easy to relate to and enjoy. Overall, this was a quick and easy read that works well to pass the time while still keeping me invested and entertained.

Shout Loud, My Heart was a wonderful one-shot that was both cozy and full of plenty of spice. It was nice to read something that was all incapsulated, the perfect amount of story and while I would enjoy more it was perfect the way it was. I've been on a big music related manga kick since the green yuri manga came out, so it was nice to see a BL as that's what I normally read.

Thank you Kodansha USA, and Netgalley for an E-Arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this story about to musicians falling in love firstly with each other talents and then with each other. I love that can clearly see in the illustrations that they both are enamored with each others talent. I also loved that the characters where in there 20s and in university. It showed them chasing their dream while also living a normal life in university and at their day jobs. The illustrations were so good. I definitely recommend this to any mature BL lovers.

A lovely story, full of dreams, music, and romance. Some somewhat risqué scenes weren't necessary for the plot, but hey... that's what's common these days, right?
I really liked the characters, the way they bonded, and how their friendship and romance grew.
I'd read more about Youga Rayri!
Thank you so much, Kodansha Comics, for the ARC I read on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

A romance between a guitarist and a vocalist from different bands. It's a wholesome and fast paced book without much depth, which is expected for a story contained in a single volume. I always find these instant love stories to be too fast paced for me, but it can't be helped with the page restriction. Still, it's sweet how they both admired eachother's music before falling in love. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants something that isn't too long

This was a short, quick read. The story had a lot of promise, but it could have been much better. The relationship honestly was a bit unimaginative, and throughout the story, the taller male lead takes most of the initiative. The smaller guy is portrayed as slightly meek and passive. The story and the chemistry feel built upon heteronormative notions. To add to the issue, there is an explicit sex scene where the taller and shorter characters take on the stereotypical sexual roles associated with their height. It feels lazy and is a little frustrating to see, they could have left that to the imagination of readers. I don't really like the reinforcement of stereotypes. That said, if you overlook those issues, it was actually an easy, wholesome read, and the artwork was good. I'm giving it 3 stars here, but it is more of a 2.5 than a 3.

An incredible story, sweet, with the kind of hard hitting romance that makes the heart ache for more. A truly beautiful read, and I can’t wait for more!

Gen plays guitar in a rock band called Eve, juggling his time between casual gigs and classes. Life is pretty routine. Until one day, he hears a voice unlike anything he’s ever heard. And It shakes him to the core.
His only regret? Not getting the singer’s name.
Overall thoughts:
First off, the art is absolutely gorgeous. The character designs are polished, and I really enjoyed the chemistry between the leads. Mike is especially sweet and easy to root for, and the concert scenes are dynamic and beautifully drawn. And the chibis? Adorbs.
That said, Shout Loud My Heart’s setup had a lot of promise, and the pacing felt like it accomplished everything it set out to do—but very quickly. Buuuut that comes with the territory of being a one-shot. So your mileage may vary when it comes to substance, development, etc.
There’s a spicy scene that seemed to come out of nowhere, since there’s not a lot of buildup to suggest the characters are already that into each other? I personally would’ve preferred more leading into it, or leaving it implied, but those are just my nitpicks.
Still, I loved the musical backdrop, this is one of my favorite tropes in manga. And I also enjoyed the energy of the band scenes, I feel like that was my favorite part of the manga overall! Not to mention, the general softness between Gen and Mike was adorable to see. They’re so cute together!
Overall, I think this one is for readers who are looking for a quick and soft, slice-of-life approach with gorgeous art! Just keep in mind that the emotional side of things is pretty subtle.
Who is Shout Loud My Heart for?
I think… if you liked Given, you’ll probably also like Shout Loud My Heart! The vibes were kinda similar, in hindsight.
If you’re into band romances, soft leads, and clean, gorgeous art, maybe you’ll like this oneshot. This is for readers who: like simpler stories with a bit of spice and strong visuals.
See you in the next one!

Thank you to Kodasha for the e-ARC of Shout Loud, My Heart.
This was a cute quick read. I really enjoyed the art style and the pacing of this manga! It wrapped up nicely in one volume, and if you're a fan of Given I would recommend giving Shout Loud, My Heart a try as it is also music based.

Shout Loud, My Heart is a lovely and sexy one-shot BL manga with a memorable cast of characters and a charming love story. I enjoyed the setting of ‘rival’ bands as it were and Mika and Gen were really good characters. It’s definitely a fun and sexy one shot that BL fans are sure to enjoy.
As always thank you to Kodansha Comics for the advanced copy to review, my reviews are always honest and freely given.

I enjoyed it, I just wish it would’ve focused on the romance more. It felt like the only reason they were together is because they liked how each other sounded/played, so there wasn’t a ton of building other than them being SHOOK when they were on stage. Like cute but one moment like that would’ve worked, instead of multiple.
