I didn't expect to like this so much!
The drawing stile was so good and the storyline went really smooth and a breath of fresh air

Shout Loud, My Heart was a story that I enjoyed very much both for its story and its drawing. It's good to see more and more BL stories and even better with a musical theme.
Thanks to NetGalley and publisher for this advanced reader's copy.

Shout Loud, My Heart is a music-themed BL manga centering around two university students who are members of rivaling bands.
The thrilling atmosphere of rock shows is the main backdrop for a slow, simmering romance between main characters Gen (the guitarist for Eve) and Mike (the vocalist for Adam).
As the two spend more time together, their feelings deepen. And what might have begun as mutual admiration for musical abilities soon reveals itself to be an undeniable physical and romantic attraction.
Even without much insight into their lives or backgrounds, I thought both Gen and Mike were enjoyable characters. Their magnetic pull towards one another was so fun to read, especially the softer, cute moments. Plus I liked the ambience of being behind-the-scenes of band performances!
The art was definitely the standout aspect of this oneshot for me. All the characters were beautifully drawn, and so many of the panels were creatively and uniquely done.
There’s one explicit scene in this story, and I thought it was executed with care and realism!
I’m also such a big fan of bonus stories and extra content at the end of mangas, and this one did not disappoint.
All in all, by the time I finished reading, I found I had no complaints about Shout Loud, My Heart. The art, pacing, humor, characters, and chemistry were all to my liking.
I’d recommend it to any yaoi lover! ♫
Thank you to Netgalley and Kodansha for the arc!

Thank you Kodansha Comics and NetGalley for providing me with this ARC. I love this book. It was ahh ohh and smiley thru the reading. I recommend anyone to read this. I gave this book a 5 stars and for the spicy star will be 3.

A Visually Appealing BL One-Shot That Falls Short on Depth
Shout Loud, My Heart presents a captivating premise: Gen, the reserved guitarist of the band Eve, finds himself drawn to Mike, the charismatic vocalist of rival band Adam. Their interactions spark a budding romance set against the backdrop of college life and musical rivalry.
The manga excels in its artwork, with expressive character designs and dynamic stage scenes that bring the musical elements to life. The contrast between Gen's introversion and Mike's outgoing nature adds an engaging dynamic to their relationship.
However, the story's brevity—being a single-volume work—limits its ability to delve deeply into character development and relationship progression. The romance feels rushed, with limited exploration of the characters' backgrounds and motivations. As one reviewer noted, "I struggled to really care about the characters, perhaps because we learnt so little about them outside of their respective bands" .

Additionally, while the manga includes an explicit scene towards the end, the overall narrative could have benefited from a more gradual build-up to enhance emotional resonance.
In summary, Shout Loud, My Heart offers visually appealing artwork and an interesting premise but falls short in delivering a fully fleshed-out story. It's a quick read that may appeal to fans of BL and music-themed manga but might leave others wanting more depth and development.

This was so cute! Good artwork, interesting characters with a believable built to their relationship, and a nice payoff in the story.

This is a cute one shot about two members from rival bands. Gen, who plays for Eve, meets Mika during one of his concerts. After finding out they attend the same university and even have some classes together, they become close and eventually fall in love.
I like how they admire each other’s music skill, and their band members are such a supportive group of cool people.
Definitely check this one out, if you like low angst manga.
Disclaimer: I received a free e-arc through Netgalley. Thank you to Kodansha manga for providing me with an e-arc. All opinions are my own.

Thank You NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC!
I absolutely loved the characters and their relationships, and not just Gen and Mike. All the characters p[lay a role in the story and naturally feel involved. The romance is just right in pacing and never once felt rushed. I wish we could have more because the cute moments they shared were just adorable! Overall a great read, and highly recommend it!

A cute story about two people from separate bands who fall in love, with a good dynamic "seemingly warm but actually kind of aloof guy x seemingly cold but actually caring guy." Also got to give a shout-out to any BL that shows boy using protection... including on the fingers for prep? That's some attention to realistic detail.

Shout Loud My Heart is a super sweet, fast-paced BL one-shot that completely won me over. The chemistry between the two leads is undeniable, and their dynamic feels both natural and heartwarming. The story moves quickly—almost too quickly!—but still manages to hit all the right emotional notes. The art style is clean and expressive, making the whole read a real pleasure. A short but satisfying manga I definitely recommend to fans of the genre.

A fast moving cute one-volume love story. I really enjoyed both the story and the art. Especially the art style was great and helped move the story along. It had a simple concept but it told it well.

This book was a great quick read! The writing pulled me in and I really loved the art style, this was a good book and I would recommend it! Thank you to NetGalley and Youga Rayri for providing me with this ARC.

Arc review.
My favorite BL manga of the year so far.
I read this twice. The story is very passionate and I feel like the character were very real and feel like real young boys . Their love story it’s so pure . And I also love al the things related to musics and bands.
And amazing drawing style
Very healthy relationship.

This is an excellent BL one-shot with stunning artwork and really unique panel layouts! I do wish we would've seen a bit more steam and romance, as well as some more yearning/character development but that only goes to show that I truly wanted to keep reading this - it didn't detract from what was already there! I loved the campus setting and the grumpy/sunshine dynamic. I wish we got to see more from these two bands and this world.

First, I want to thank Kodansha Comics and Netgalley for providing me with this ARC copy of the English translation of Shout Loud My Heart to read in exchange for an honest review.
Let me first just say that I feel like I might be a little bit biased about this review. I personally am a big fan of Kodansha Comics and also another publisher Yen Press. When I found out that Kodansha comics puts their comics up on Netgalley sometimes I got very excited. First, I want to say that the translation and typography were well placed and well done. There are three things I always look for in an English translation of a comic and this is that all the little side remarks are translated, the SFX are translated in a way that keeps the original feeling and also makes sense in English, and that the art is not disturbed by the translation process.
I know that in some parts of manga where the speech bubbles are see-through it can be difficult to accomplish the last task, but this comic did a phenomenal job at all 3. One of my favorite parts of reading manga is the side notes and remarks that characters make to each other and background characters make. It makes the stories so fun and real and when translators leave out those parts I feel like I’m missing part of the story. This translation did well at keeping all of those in the story and making sense. The art was also amazing. The mangaka did such an amazing job and their story was also amazing.
The story was so cute and I loved that, despite it being a shorter 5 episode stand-alone with a couple short 2–3-page side stories, it still was written in such a way that I left not only loving their relationship, but understanding them as characters. I fell in love with both Mika and Gen but also with all their friends and fellow band mates as well. The spice level was also a level 5.
Overall, I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. Super cute. Shorter than I would like because it was so well written that now I want more – maybe some standalone books about their bandmates. Very good!

Perfect for fans of Pink Heart Jam, Shout Loud, My Heart is a really cute romance oneshot that will make everyone smile until their cheeks hurt!
College student Gen plays guitar in a rock band called Eve. At a gig one night, he meets a man named Mike. Mike’s the kind of person who has no trouble saying what’s on his mind, and Gen soon finds himself captivated by this smooth, handsome voice. The next day, the two meet again when they realize they go to the same college. Be it on stage or in casual conversation, Gen finds himself more and more captivated by Mike’s voice. The more time the two spend together, the more Gen realizes it’s more than just Mike’s voice he’s attracted to…
Gen and Mike were such cute characters, and their interactions made me so happy!! They clearly cared deeply for each other, and even though this is a pretty short manga, you can see the way their relationship develops and how they slowly become more and more captivated by the other!
In the end, I really liked this manga and I'll definitely be reread it in the future!
Thank you NetGalley and Kondasha comics for an arc of this one!

Single volume/ one-shot mangas are currently my obsession, and this book only fueled the fire! I absolutely devoured this book, it was so cute and fluffy (and a little spicy towards the end too) with a great range of characters and a simple yet addictive story filled with music and love. The romance between Eve's guitarist Gen and lead vocalist of rival band Adam's Mike was so great, though it didn't quite have enough depth for me personally, it had some super cute moments, and I loved how both boys fell so hard for each other, and admired each other's musical talent. The artwork was beautiful (Gen is so handsome!) and overall the atmosphere and feelings of sharing messages through music was amazing, the way it was portrayed was excellent.
Overall, I'd definitely suggest you read this for a sweet, slightly steamy story about two souls finding each other in one song.
4/5 🌟

Sometimes I read a story so good, I imagine ripping out the pages of the book and eating them one by one. That sounds insane, right? But there's no other way to describe how it makes me feel. I want to absorb every word, sketch, line, and screentone. I want it to live forever in the corners of my brain and the depths of my heart. For me, the latest story to do this to me was Shout Loud, My Heart.
When Kodansha announced it acquired the license to Youga Rayri's one-shot BL manga about boys in a band, the internet went wild. The art just looked SO good, and with popular music BL's like Given and Pink Heart Jam, we could always use more band stories. I went into the story as blind as possible and walked away with a new favorite BL.
Shout Loud, My Heart follows Gen, a guitarist for a band named Eve, who meets Mika (known as Mike), the lead singer of a band named Adam. The two orbit each other as they go to the same university, and they perform at a lot of the same band events. They're both interested in each other and captivated by each other's talent.
The story progresses quickly, and the chapters shift through both characters' POVs. You get a real feel for how they are processing each other in real time. Gen, who is a little cold and aloof, finds himself melting around Mika. While Mika wants to do whatever he can to get close to Gen. Their mutual interest ends up integrating into their music.
I always want every one-shot to be 300 chapters long, but I appreciated how the story flows in these few chapters. The story moves fast and feels like there are gaps in between the chapters, where we don't see every interaction between Gen and Mika as they grow closer. This pacing is not for everyone, but I love it. The fast pace feels like you're with them, falling in love in real time. It's something that happens over time between all the meaningful moments.
While I love both the leads, Gen has my full heart. Initially, it seems that he will fall into a tsundere trope, but he doesn't. He willfully surrenders to love, open to whatever road Mika will take him on. He's also surprisingly blunt and unshamed in his feelings. It's so refreshing to see a story with minimal drama and misunderstandings (don't get me wrong, I love those, too).
All of these factors combined have left me obsessed with this story. I've already reread it about 4 times and continue to revisit certain scenes. It's perfect start to finish and just manages to encapture the way you can just find your person and get together! I'm never the one to want a manga to be adapted into an anime, but Shout Loud, My Heart is one I can definitely envision animated. College boys in rock bands? We need more!
Thank you, Kodansha and NetGalley, for an advanced reviewer copy.

I love stories based around bands and music, and this one is perfect for me.
Our main characters are members of rival bands, and when they finally meet, the sparks fly. I enjoyed how, even if the characters were quite typical for such manga, their behaviour wasn't. There was no one character chasing after the other or forcing them to spend time together.
The story fits nicely in one volume.
The art style is excellent, easy to read and very pretty. The characters look very different from each other, so there's no issue with understanding the story.
It's a really lovely quick story. There's one sex scene, but it's short, so if you don't like them you easily skip it.

I was excited to get into this, I love a good BL romance. The art style is so cute!!! The switch-ups from cute to the normal style are what stood out to me most, along with the whole premise of the story, very Given meets Battle of the Bands. It did feel a little surface-level in terms of character depth and backstory. I think what could have made the characters more relatable and deep was if it were a bit longer; the chemistry and build-up between characters was a bit slower, and the interactions were a little deeper. Overall, the spicy scenes, plot and characters themselves were super fun to read about and see interact. I think this would benefit from having a bit more length, as it could make room for more character fluff or smut interactions, but what we've been provided with is a very cute window into the lives of these two lovers.
