I've been loving this series and was super excited to read the next book, and it didn't disappoint! I really like Astrid, and I think Blake is my favourite love interest so far! It was a super fun read, and I can't wait to continue this series. Perfect for fans of Ice hockey romance or those wanting to try one for the first time

Looking for a hockey themed romance with a streak of revenge running through? Then look no further!

The Puck Stops Here is the third book in the Karma Club series - a series of books that can each be read together or as stand alone books.

Enter Astrid, journalist and heartbroken, who meets her 3 new besties after a chance encounter when stranded snowed in at the airport. Trading stories of heartbreak to pass the time, the new friends make a pact to exact revenge on each others ex’s and break their hearts, giving them a good dose of karma.

Astrid’s karma target is non other that famous NHL superstar and seemingly perfect gentleman Aiden Carter. Her journalistic prowess gives her the perfect way in to achieve her goal, but what she never expected was handsome twin brother, team bad boy Blake.

Will Blake distract her from her karma mission, or will Astrid be able to break Aiden’s heart and bring balance to her friend?

Whilst the hockey theme is integral to the story, this book doesn’t lean heavily on it with more emphasis on the friendships and romances than the sports aspect. Stewart uses this to her advantage creating a great slow burn romance, with characters that are so well written that you can’t help but wish them all to get a happy ending. I felt that I really got to know the main characters throughout the book and felt their emotions along with them.

This was a really easy read that I could happily have read in one sitting. I can recommend for anyone who wants a romance read with a bit of spice, plenty of emotional feels, and a sports backdrop.

Thank you to @RachaelStewart3 @boldwoodeverafter @netgalley for this book in return for an honest review

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital ARC!

This book is part of a series, and I seem to have been reading them backwards, as I read the last book first by accident. Unfortunately, I ended up DNF'ing that book, and I did the same here.

I maintain my thoughts from that book: the ex pact was silly and completely unrealistic. It didn't make sense to me, as given what I ended up knowing from the next book, everything just felt too rushed! I love ice hockey romance, and I will still love it, but this one wasn't for me.

I love the premise of this book! When Astrid meets Sienna, they discover they both have old issues with their exes and decide that revenge will help them feel better. Astrid goes after Adrian, who chose hockey over Sienna. Unfortunately for the success of revenge plot, she falls far Adrian’s twin brother.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley, I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Blake and Astrid feel inevitable!!

This is the 3rd book in the series and I haven't read the first 2 but the beginning of this book explains enough to be able to enjoy the book.

Friends swapping ex's for karma what could go wrong?

I would have enjoyed it more if we spent a bit longer wrapping everything up because something bad happened and then everything was fine but it was still a easy fun read. I feel Invested in the other characters to read about what they were up too.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy✨

The ending of this was so cute. I loved how everything got worked out for the two main characters. Loved the casual queer rep. So many sports romances don’t have any which utterly mad. Queer people play professional sports too. The formatting on the texting is so good. Too many books don’t bother with anything different for a conversation via text, but this book did THE MOST.

It was very different to differentiate who was who in the first few chapters. The friendship group were all very underdeveloped characters. All we knew about them was their name, hair colour, what their ex did and where they were from but only specifically for the Americans. The British characters where just described as “Brits” - my literary pet peeve. I know the rest of the friendship group have their own books, but it still would’ve been nice to learn more of them (this is the only book in this series that I’ve read).

I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Aiden and Sienna’s book was set up so well. I can’t wait to read their resolution.

This book has a little bit of everything. It has revenge plots, slow burn romance, a love triangle and just a really good plot.

It's a really good light read romance that would be perfect for a summer beach read or just chilling in this beautiful sunny weather.

There's humour and I loved the revenge plot and how the story unwinds (no spoilers) . The love triangle helps build the story but it isn't at all creepy or cringy.

A really nice summer easy read.

The Puck Stops Here is a well paced and emotionally wild, steamy ice hockey romance book.

I really enjoyed the dual POV that this story was written in and the seamless transition between the different characters viewpoints allowing for easier connections to the characters thoughts and feelings. I enjoyed the humour of the story and had a few laugh out loud moments.

I read this as a standalone and it made perfect sense but I will definitely be reading the others in the series.

Perfect for fans of found family, forced proximity, love triangles and grumpy hockey players.

This was a fun, steamy read with plenty of heart. I loved the unique premise—four women teaming up to give karma to each other’s exes—and Astrid’s story added just the right amount of emotional depth. Her chemistry with Blake, one half of the hockey-playing Titan twins, was instant and electric. While the "revenge mission" didn't have as much laugh-out-loud mischief as other books in the series, it made up for it with genuine growth, heartfelt moments, and strong family bonds.

Blake and Aiden’s relationship as brothers was a sweet surprise, and I enjoyed seeing how Astrid and Blake supported one another. The British-isms in the dialogue did throw me off a bit considering the U.S. setting, but it didn’t ruin the experience. If you're in the mood for a spicy, swoony, and emotionally satisfying sports romance, this one’s worth checking out.

This one was a fun surprise! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the chemistry hit fast and kept the story moving. The hockey setting added just enough edge without taking over, and the emotional moments actually landed. It had a good mix of heat, heart, and just enough drama to stay interesting. Not overdone, just a solid, steamy read that delivered what I came for. Definitely worth checking out if you're into sports romance with a little depth.

✨ ARC Review: The Puck Stops Here by Rachel Stewart ✨
I am obsessed with this book. It had me in a complete chokehold from the first chapter to the very last page. My heart was racing, my chest was tight, and the emotional rollercoaster I went through? UNREAL.

Astrid is a journalist out for revenge — her friend Sienna was left broken after being ghosted 10 years ago by her ex, who’s now a hotshot NHL player. Astrid wants answers, wants payback… until she meets his twin brother, Blake.

And Blake? He’s everything she shouldn’t want — but absolutely can’t resist. 🔥

The tension between them? Off the charts. The emotional chaos? Devastating in the best way. Every character is morally grey, layered, and nothing is what it seems. It’s messy, it’s intense, it’s full of feelings and I LIVED for every second of it.

This is a standalone in a four-book series written by different authors and trust me — I’m reading them all after this. If you love hockey romance with spice, secrets, and heartbreak… you need this book in your life.

⭐ 3.5
🌶️ 1.5
🥵 Spicy chapters: 21, 23, 24, 27
📚 Tropes/Themes: hockey, slow burn, love triangle-ish? Revenge, pmdd rep
👀 Dual POV 1st person
💔 Triggers: mentions of: parental abandonment, alcoholism, DV and CA

💬 I feel pretty neutral about this book. It was okay but the story didn't really grab me. I did get a little bit more interested in the end when the drama kicked up, but for the most part I didn't really feel very strongly either way about it.

I think my biggest issue is I couldn't decide initially if the karma/revenge thing was cute or childish. It might be a weird double standard or something, but I think it wouldn't have bothered me as much, if I were watching this as a movie. In a movie you don't really have as much time to sit and chew over what's happening so I would have found the revenge plot enjoyable. But since I'm reading it and I can sit there and process things, I can't get past the idea that it's just childish.

Along with that, I guess it makes me a bad woman but I kind of feel like the PMDD thing is weird. I know it's a real thing- I even know people who struggle with it but I guess I just didn't expect that of all things to be included as part of the tension. I stand by the need for normalizing and the destigmatization of menstrual cycles but I guess for so long it's been used to excuse away and devalue a woman's valid feelings/concerns, that it was kind of jarring to see it mentioned.

I love the idea of the Karma Club and had to rush out to read the other books. I enjoyed how strong Astrid is as a protagonist - there's something empowering about a woman seeking to right wrongs. Blake is definitely a detour but you could tell from the beginning that they were going to get together.

Wow, what an exciting read! 'The Puck Stops Here' by Rachel Stewart is a thrilling page-turner that kept me on the edge of my seat. The writing is engaging, and the characters are well-developed and relatable. I loved the hockey theme and the way the author wove it into the story. The plot twists and turns, keeping you guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves sports romance or mystery. Can't wait to read more from this author!

When I picked up this book through an arc, I didn't realize it was the third instalment in a series. The author gives the perfect amount of background in the prologue that I didn't notice it was the third book until I went to see when the next one came out ( I just started the first book, but it seems like they are all taking place concurrently).

This is a John Tucker Must Die-esque story, that starts when four strangers meet in an airport and vow to get revenge on their respective exes who scorned them. Astrid is paired up with Sienna's ex, Aiden, a professional hockey player and is committed to getting revenge for her new-found best friend, that is, until she falls fast for his twin brother. Astrid is a reporter, and reaches out to do a PR piece on the "Twin Titans" to help rehab Blake's (MMC) aggressive bad boy image.

The author conveyed the emotions behind Astrid's choice of commitment to her new friends vs falling in love with the other brother so well. It was a funny, easy read and I immediately jumped into the rest of the series.

A hilarious and spicy hockey romance full of revenge, red-hot tension, and unexpected sparks. Journalist Astrid Sinclair and her fierce crew of ex-targeting besties are on a mission to get back at the men who broke their hearts, but when Astrid sets her sights on NHL star Aiden Carter, things get complicated fast. With killer heels, a sharp wit, and an all-access pass, she’s ready to expose the truth, until Aiden’s brooding twin Blake shows up and throws her carefully planned game off balance. It’s a messy, addictive play where breaking hearts might mean saving her own.

2.5 Stars ~ The premise of this book sounded really interesting--secret revenge, hockey, and hot twins? Say no more! However, the execution fell flat for me; the pacing felt very rushed which saddened me. Perhaps my downfall was not realizing this is the third book in an interconnected series. A huge part of this book is the set up of Astrid meeting random girls on a plane and making a pact to get revenge on their exes, but their actual meeting didn't feel impactful and felt like it was skimmed over. Blake and Aiden were spilling their secrets to a reporter they've only met a few times? Inviting her over to meet their mom after meeting a few times as well? Hard to believe and I almost DNF-ed this book. However, the tension between Blake and Astrid kept me intrigued enough to finish the book, and it did get a bit better in the last third of the book. I am very intrigued about how Aiden and Sienna's story will progress though!

This is such a fun read. I am loving the Karma Club as these four friend get revenge on the men who hurt them. This time is Astrid turn and her story did not disappoint. I loved her chemistry with Blake. This is a slow burn romance with the perfect amount of spice. There's humor, emotions and a few twists here and there. This is a great addition to a really fun series and I can't wait for the next one.

This latest installment in The Karma Club series follows Astrid, a sharp and determined journalist who meets three other women during a snowed-in airport delay. After venting about their exes, the women form a pact: each will help get revenge on someone else’s ex. This time, it’s Astrid’s turn to take down Sienna’s heartbreaker.

Armed with her media credentials, Astrid infiltrates the world of professional hockey under the guise of writing a PR article—only to find herself caught between twin brothers Aiden and Blake. While Aiden is the original target, it’s Blake who catches her eye (and heart), throwing a wrench into her carefully laid revenge plans.

What should have been a mission of retribution quickly turns into a tangled mess of emotions, secrets, and undeniable chemistry. Astrid is torn between loyalty to her new friend and the growing pull she feels toward Blake. Can she have justice and love, or will one cost her the other?
