Thank you Watkins Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
Bridget McNulty has shared a gift available to each and every one of us.
In her book Daily Glimmers, Bridget explains that “Glimmers” are a concept first conceived by Deb Dana in her PolyVagal work.
Glimmers are minute pieces of joy scattered in every single person’s life. In spite of hardship and pain being experienced, a person can find tiny pockets of joy within life. Glimmers are not external things we get like buying a new piece of clothing or having a holiday, they are the small daily joys that are often overlooked in the daily chaos of modern living.
However, once we are aware of glimmers we can begin to seek them out and in turn our brain begins to change and through the neuroplasticity process we can train our brains to seek more and more glimmers on a daily basis.
The majority of the book provides examples of glimmers, grouped into different sections with accompanying examples of further glimmers.
Initially I thought the book was overly long and would have been better condensed and made as a coffee table style book with bright accompanying photographs. This book is not that, I had missed the point. By reading through each of the pages I was positively happy to discover that by reading and processing all the incredible ways glimmers show up that I had, almost by osmosis, begun to also start seeking glimmers daily,
This book is a fabulous book that quite literally grows on you.
This is an ARC given to me my NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Glimmers I can share that are NetGalley related are:
- Finding a book that creeps up on you and seeps into your body in the most enriching way
- Opening your email to see you have been granted a much wished for book to review
- Reading two amazing fiction NetGalley books in a row, knowing you will have a book hangover when they end
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I highly recommend it.

Thank you, Watkins Publishing and Net Galley, for an advanced copy of this ebook, Daily Glimmers by Bridget McNulty. This review is my own honest opinion.
I totally loved this pocket self help book. What a great concept to consider the smallest, loveliest moments in every day. I can think of numerous people I would buy this book for. A book to dip into whenever those grey, awful moments arrive, to remind you that despite everything, if you look around you there are still hundreds of things you may have overlooked, to appreciate, adore and admire. I would like to see this, the best seller since the Bible.
My only concern as a publisher would be that there are so many books with the word ‘Glimmer’ in it. I hope you make this one stand out from the crowd.

THIS BOOK is a Glimmer. Every time I opened it, I was smiling within five seconds. Not only am I buying myself a copy to reread all the time, but I think all of my friends and family need one too.
.
I am usually so against self-help or self-improvement or really any advice books whatsoever. The positive thinking and gratitude stuff leaves me especially cynical- and I’m a rather sunny person! I just can’t stand toxic positivity or people who don’t acknowledge the real, physical effects of mental health.
.
But this book immediately addresses ALL of that and right away reminds the reader that this book isn’t going to change your life. Glimmers are just meant to be a little magic moment in your day where you can say “hey, that was nice. I’m glad I experienced that” and move on.
.
I thought I was good at “stopping to smell the flowers,” but this book made the experience so much richer and provided so many more experience beyond metaphorical flowers. It might be a silly example, but one day after starting this book I was driving home and annoyed I was stuck behind someone slow. Then a plane flew low overhead and it felt so cool and dramatic as I was caught in its shadow. I thought, “that’s cool glimmer I wouldn’t have experienced if not for the slow poke ahead.” And the rest of my ride was a little brighter.
.
Maybe it’s because I love the idea of a glimmer like magic fairy sparkles in your day, but this way of thinking really clicked for me. It even encouraged me to intentional do more simple, nice things. Breakfast al fresco! Stopping for those delicious wild blueberries at the farm stand instead of rushing home. More cuddle time with my dog scheduled!
.
Honestly never been more grateful for an ARC!

Started the book in the summer, so I really enjoyed how the book was organized into seasons and different categories. Very easy to read. Excited to try these daily glimmers

In a world that often feels overwhelming, Daily Glimmers offers a gentle, uplifting reminder to pause and notice the tiny joys that surround us. Bridget McNulty’s concept of “glimmers”—those fleeting, three-second moments of delight—is both simple and profound, and this book is a lovely resource for anyone seeking to build resilience through mindfulness.
Organized into thematic chapters with over 1,000 examples, the book encourages readers to find joy in the everyday: from the feel of new socks to the quiet magic of a rainbow. It’s a comforting companion for those navigating tough times, and a practical guide to cultivating emotional well-being through small, intentional observations.
As someone who values a positive mindset, this is the kind of book you’ll want to keep nearby—on a nightstand, a coffee table, or tucked into a bag—ready to inspire a moment of reflection whenever life feels heavy. Everyone can benefit from the gentle practice of noticing glimmers.
Thank you Watkins Publishing for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

There's beauty in every moment, and McNulty refers to these small moments of joy as 'glimmers.' I like how the book is structured and organized into seasons, making it something you can revisit whenever you need a little inspiration. The concept is simple, but it's the practice of shifting your perspective and reframing daily habits to make each day a little brighter. Thank you to NetGalley and Watkins Publishing for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Watkins Publishing, NetGalley, and the author for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I appreciated the seasonal structure of "Daily Glimmers" as I am someone who lives by the rhythm of the seasons, and the format resonated with me.
Bridget McNulty offers gentle encouragement to notice fleeting moments of joy, or “glimmers,” in everyday life, which are for me: birdsong, fog over a field, a kind gesture in traffic.
Her take on mindfulness (versus forced gratitude) felt especially refreshing in a culture saturated with toxic positivity.
While I found some metaphors clunky and the tone occasionally simplistic, the book is sincere and accessible, especially for those new to reflection or feeling disconnected from the natural world.
I also liked her references to other writers and inclusion of further reading.
This isn’t groundbreaking, but it’s a sweet reminder to slow down and savor small moments.

Daily Glimmers is very suitably titled.
If you tend to forget the tiny moments of beauty, fun, goodness in our lives, this is a good book.
If you enjoy them already, this is a good summation and collection of them.

This beautiful pocket self-help book teaches us to notice three-second glimmers of joy every day, to build resilience and deal with difficult times.

This book was one I completely believe in and get behind, finding joy in everyday moments that boost your mood and uplift you amidst the busy chaos life can bring and have you live in.
From simple acts as enjoying the feeling of rain and embracing the weather, writing or drawing for fun and practical, finding a love of new music genres or coffee flavours.
My own example, me and my friend came up with happy socks, we usually wear all black for our work uniform but the socks we even got our work to get behind, sharing fun prints to smile and laugh over together, a bit of light in darkness whether in uniform or daily life, our own little daily glimmer and conversation/connection starter!

Finding joy in each and every day lightens my mood and relieves stress. Daily Glimmers, by Bridget McNulty, is a creative and insightful book that gifts the reader with moments of joy they can find and enjoy in everyday life. I love how the book is divided into sections by seasons of the year. I also love that McNulty focuses on glimmers that are so relatable; they brought a smile to my face. This is a book I will turn to over and over again when I want to find more joy in my life and appreciate the little things that sincerely make a huge impact on improving my quality of life. This would be a lovely book to read at home or tuck into a tote to bring with you on your life's journeys.

Daily Glimmers : The art of finding tiny joys every day of the year. This is a lovely book for dipping into and feeling the love. It is full of small, basic everyday pleasures that you can appreciate throughout the days and seasons. There was nothing new here so the emphasis was on simplicity. A feel good read that would make a nice gift book to cheer someone up.

I love this book. It gives great advice for finding glimmers in your daily life. This is a great book to keep on your nightstand and open when you need a reminder and even when you don’t.

Thank you, Net Galley, for an advanced copy of this book! All reviews are my own opinions.
I highly recommend this book. I was deeply changed by the idea of glimmers. I have been significantly happier since seeking daily glimmers. I found the format to be extremely useful. Additionally, I enjoyed the use of seasons to advance her format. I will definitely read this book again and recommend it to others. Read this book if you struggle with seeking gratitude or joy in your everyday life. Especially read this book if you are in a difficult season of life. Thanks again!

This is a sweet little book. I appreciated that it was broken down by seasons, and that the author purposely kept it from turning into toxic positivity. She included just enough of her own stories to make it relatable (such as talking about how hard it was to feel anything but despair after her mother died and her father had a stroke) while still keeping it open for all different readers to find their own little glimmers. There are alternatives for each one in case they don’t work for you. It did help me focus on little joys during my days.
I read a digital ARC of this book via netgalley.

Ive only had this copy a few days and I’ve powered through it! My goodness this book is exactly what this world needs right now! I honestly adore it! I especially liked the season chapter idea… ideas to use throughout each season is perfect! I really hope the author brings more of this out soon and I will be purchasing a copy when it’s released! My students are going to love this so much too!

This was a cute book with lots of reminders that we all need. It was uplifting, encouraging, and a quick and easy read. Great gift for someone who is struggling!!

I loved Daily Glimmers and it is one of those books that you will return to again and again. It's about finding the small joys - glimmers, in daily life and reminds you of the little things that can make such a difference.

I really enjoyed reading this advance review copy of Daily Glimmers by Bridget McNulty. I felt it offered a gentle reminder to slow down and savour life’s small, joyful moments. It helped me shift away from feeling the stress and routine of daily life, and look towards the simple beauty that often goes unnoticed in our daily lives.
It's easily organized around the changing seasons, where each section brings its own collection of thoughtful reflections, personal anecdotes, and uplifting prompts. The structure makes it easy to dip in and out, returning to favourite passages as needed. I loved the illustrations throughout as they add a whimsical touch, while the curated reading list and poetry suggestions at the end are a lovely bonus - which I thought was a great touch!
This book feels like a warm companion on grey days. It's calming, hopeful, and gently inspiring. I think this book will be perfect for gifting or keeping nearby when you need a quiet reset.

Thank you to Watkins Publishing, Netgalley, and the author for this ARC! I’d heard of glimmers before, but only had guessed what it meant. When I saw the description of this book I really wanted to learn more about this concept. I really enjoyed not only learning what glimmers are, but the author gave so many examples of how it can be applied in real life. I really liked how the author broke the book into four seasons. I thought it was unique and helpful. This is definitely a must read book!
