I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a fun vacation read that I devoured in a couple days. I found the MMC to be so annoying at first (which is kinda the point, so I knew I just needed top persevere). The two main characters bounce off of each other in such an interesting way.

Bal Khabra does it again! This story had me hooked from page one, and even now,  I cannot stop thinking about Sierra and Dylan’s connection! The cover is amazing, and it reminds me of the early 2000s in all of the figure skating movies that came out. I highly recommend this if you love sports romances and you have followed “the off the ice” series. Please do Kian next!?

A huge, thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for the chance to read this copy in exchange for my honest thoughts. Bal Khabra is my NOW go-to for addictive sports romances.

love a hockey player / ice skater number. This gave ice princess vibes in the best way. My only complaint is that it was a little long imo for a contemporary romance.

i’ve read the other books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed, truly the only reason this isn’t rated higher is that i feel that every mmc in this series is exactly the same person for the first ~25% of their respective books, the girls are all very different from the jump but the mmcs just feel cookie cutter at times, however, i did really love this book and would recommend it highly despite my issue

thank you to netgalley for an arc of this title in exchange for my honest feedback!

I was really looking forward to reading this book because I loved Spiral so much. Unfortunately this one wasn't my favorite. I didn't feel the chemistry between Dylan and Sierra. This book just felt like every concept that wasn't copied from Icebreaker in Collide was added into this book. I did appreciate the mental health representation and I like the found family in this series. I hope the next book gets the series back on track (though I fear if its about Kian I might be extremely annoyed by it).

Khabra, once again, did not disappoint! This it the third book in the Off the Ice standalone series, and each one has been better than the last. Despite this being her third book and hockey romances being very popular, this still felt fresh. The characters were and unique and lovable, even side characters. There were even a few twists I didn't expect! (No pun intended.) Anyone who loves sport romances will love this book, and I hope she writes another! There is spice.

⛸️ Bookish Thoughts
This was such a cute and fun sports romance. I really appreciated the mental health rep. Watching Sierra face her anxiety and find her way back to the ice was incredibly rewarding. Dylan had some growing up to do, but I was fully rooting for him by the end. His care and support for Sierra genuinely warmed my heart. Their banter was chef's kiss!

2.5! No one tried to love this book more than I did but we just didn’t click. I feel like I’ve outgrown this type of character dynamic and that really affected how I felt about the story overall. The whole black cat x golden retriever thing didn’t help either, somehow I always end up disliking the black cat half and that was the case here too. My rating is totally based on personal taste obviously but if you’re into hockey romance, found family and mental health rep, feel free to ignore me bc this book is 100% for you!

So, I'm obsessed! The tension and banter between Sierra + Dylan were off the charts. On the other hand, they were so patient with one another and complemented each other so well. I adored the way that Dylan helped Sierra build her confidence back up to fully love herself after everything that came along with her accident. He truly helped her feel comfortable in her skin, which was so beautiful to me. Sierra was by Dylan's side through all of his hardships as well, regarding hockey and his family. Such a pure & genuine relationship!

I have to touch on the found-family aspect as well, because this is one of those groups where I tear up at the love they have for friends. It doesn't matter what anyone has going on; everyone is there for one another, no matter what. It was so touching that all of Dylan's friends showed up to his parents' event, knowing how hard that was going to be for him - the support group was supporting. <3 Also, I love Kian & Dylan's friendship SO MUCH. Their height measurements being in Dylan's childhood home on the bathroom door frame?? Brb sobbing. This bromance is everything!

It's never just "a cute hockey romance" when it comes to Bal Khabra's work; it is always SO much more than that. Every book keeps getting better and better. It is amazing to experience Bal continue to grow as an author and fall more in love with every book she publishes.

- A huge thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for this ARC.

WOW I have never been this devoted to a sports romance book before!

Coded similar to Icebreaker, which was popularized a few years ago, this story follows a hockey player x figure skater dynamic. Both itching for success, both dealing with their own trauma - this plot follows a meaningful but fun storyline, and the passion is CRAZY!!

I love both characters separately and together, as both are strong, relatable, inspiring tropes with combined yearning, admiration, and intrigue!

My only advice is to correct a couple spelling mistakes before going to print, but tbh I was eating this book up too quickly to even notice them in the first place!

NEW FAVE SPORTS ROMANCE (and hockey player bf.... hahaha)

4.25 stars, thank you to Berkley Publishing Group and Bal Khabra for allowing me to read an ARC copy of this book! Coming out Oct. 14th, 2025.

This one was such an emotional punch. It's gritty, raw, and super personal . You can tell the author poured everything into it. The writing has that modern, almost lyrical vibe, and the themes around healing and identity really hit. I flew through it in one sitting because it just felt honest. Some parts were a little repetitive like it circled the same feelings a few too many times, but I also get that it was kind of the point. Healing isn’t linear. If you’re into contemporary reads that don’t sugarcoat anything and leave you thinking after the last page, this one’s absolutely worth checking out.

I am a huge fan of hockey or figure skating romances. This niche romance genre has captured my heart in ways I cannot explain. Anytime I can nab a new hockey romance to read, you know I am pulling it off the shelf. (Or, in this case, off my Netgalley shelf!)

This is the third novel I’ve read from Bal Khabra and every subsequent novel she releases improves. While the writing style initially had its moments of telling instead of showing, the story ended up finding its groove around the 20% mark. (To be fair, it was around this mark that the plot really kicked into gear too!) I found myself smiling, giggling, gasping—hitting every emotion in-between. Khabra’s writing is incredibly easy to fall into and to enjoy.

I always thought I’d say that Collide, the first novel in Off the Ice, would be my favorite book from the series. However, Revolve snuck its way in and has nabbed that favorite spot. That favoritism is largely due to Sierra, Dylan, and the themes they supported throughout their journey. I adored watching the blossoming relationship between Sierra and Dylan. There’s something about the male love interest being an absolute simp for his girl that really gets a reader’s heart fluttering. Greater than that, though, was the theme of love and self-love. Sometimes it really does take another person to teach you how to love yourself, which was the case with Dylan and Sierra. I always find it to be a sign of a great romance novel, when a couple can teach each other how to be better to themselves and their relationships, while also remaining as individuals in a partnership. (Yet another theme that was touched on in two ways: the partnership in couples figure skating, and the partnership involved with romantic relationships!)

Talking on the romance, there were two things I noticed. 1) Khabra did bring in the stereotypical “I’m a hockey player and I sleep around” angle, which is getting a little tired in hockey romances. I’d love to get more cinnamon roll angles for the male love interests! 2) There was no third act breakup, which was such a breath of fresh air. I’m enjoying the continued trend of removing the third act breakup from romance novels and replacing it with an external plot point to push the characters toward resolution. Of course, the spice was spicing in this novel as well. I appreciated that the spice mostly waited until after the 55-60% mark; that felt like enough time for Dylan and Sierra’s relationship to get established before things were taken to the next level.

This novel was a delightful taste of college, hockey, figure skating, and romance. If Bal Khabra wants to keep writing hockey romances, I certainly wouldn’t complain! They always prove to be a fun escape, and I can’t wait to reread this entire series in the future.

Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Did not enjoy this one as much as the first two in the series. Our MMC felt immature and I was never able to get on board with him being with the fmc. 3 stars.

Bal has done it again!!

Chef’s kiss!!

The characters in this Third book are just amazing! It’s filled with so much tension with their “enemies to lovers” situation which I think plays out in such a beautiful way.

I think the story looks at partnership in both a literal and figurative (pun intended) way which makes my heart just sing!!

Dylan Donovan is that guy, dare I say he’s my fav of the series!! Sierra was so complex in the most simple way and I loved it!

The ending did feel a bit abrupt but I also don’t know the most logical ending for this one.

Very cute book! 3.7/5⭐️

Okay, where to start with this book? I don’t even know cause I have a lot of mixed feelings.

I enjoyed that I was reading a sports romance where they’re both athletes but I am so tired of the cliche “he’s a hockey player who’s also sleeping around with everyone but has never had a girlfriend” like please when we do we get something NEW? I feel as if this book was written to cater to the mainstream audience of booktok because they eat up stuff like Icebreaker so it’s easier for authors to get into the spotlight with works like this.

But it gets boring after a point. I picked this book up only because I love Bal’s other works, but this time I’m a little disappointed. Although Dylan was someone that grew on me and is an ultimate simp which we all love, Sierra got a little frustrating, nothing really new from this character that it haven’t seen in other books. It’s supposed to be a book about them skating together but I feel like we barely saw that being used strongly as development?

Will booktok eat this up? Yes. Will I recommended this over Bal’s other works? Not a chance.

I feel like I need to go back and read A Code for Love to remember why I looked forward to seeing more from her. Every time a POC author writes a white love interest a piece of me dies

Thank you to Netgalley and publishers for the opportunity to review this ARC. Unfortunately, my experience with the book has left me with more to desire from the college sports romance world. While I did like the individual storylines from our main characters, I felt like the relationship itself needed to be fleshed out more and more emphasis to be placed on the sporting aspect of the book. The diamond in the rough was definitely Sierra, I loved her character and wished only for her happiness and health.

3.5 stars. Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for this eARC!

I was obviously super excited to receive this arc because I LOVEEE a hockey romance so much! This one definitely did not disappoint, but I do think the second book is still my favorite! I think I would’ve preferred to have the ones still in college have their books before we got Eli’s (even tho I <3 him) because I was thrown for a loop because I truly couldn’t remember half of the characters.

Our FMC, Sierra!!! I love her. She’s sarcastic, snarky, and an ice queen. She’s struggling to get back into skating after a big fall and can’t find a new partner. Our MMC, Dylan, is a charming, cocky hockey player who gets suspended for reckless behavior. I thought this was a nice change in hockey romance where he’s a figure skater as well. It fit nicely in the story and kept things interesting!

Overall, I did enjoy this book, but felt it lacking compared to the 2nd book. It was quick and an easy read. I enjoy Bal’s writing so much and can’t wait for her next books

Not a spoiler!!!! Just my prediction but Kian & Scarlett book 🫣🫣 I have a nagging feeling it’ll be them together!

Revolve was so heartwarming and addictive! Bal Khabra’s writing just keeps getting better. Sierra and Dylan’s chemistry was off the charts, her verbal sparring with him had me screaming! The MMCs are always green flags, full of patience and care, while the FMCs are strong yet vulnerable. Their dynamic is everything.

The sports angle added real intensity, and their growth kept me hooked. A few pacing issues near the end, but still an emotionally-charged, addictive read. This might just be my favorite of Bal Khabra’s books yet! Highly recommend for fans of intense sports romance!
