i loved this book so much. i had a lot of fun reading it despite all my doubts at the beginning.
to preface, i have read collide which was not my cup of tea, but was still solid because bal khabra is just great at writing men. aiden in that book was the greenest of green flags, but summer was not my favorite fmc i've read.
however, in revolve i enjoyed reading sierra and dylan's story since they first saw each other on the ice. bal khabra does such a great job with their dynamic and i'm such a sucker for feisty female leads and equally snarky male leads who love to make the female lead squirm.
i truly thought this was gonna be another icebreaker moment, but i thought the plot carried all the way until the end. there were many beautiful moments between the two that i had to write down. they had me giggling and kicking my feet constantly. banter was off the charts good from start to finish! i usually get a bit bored when the main characters get together, but these two kept me on my toes throughout the entire story.
sierra struggles with the trauma from her injury with falling while figuring skating, but her character throughout the book focuses on overcoming it as well as finding herself in skating again. cue dylan who is given a chance to redeem himself from a failed drug test that leads to his suspension from hockey. since sierra couldn't find a partner in time, their coaches suggest that a partnership could be beneficial. don't worry though, because dylan has some figure skating experience and is actually decent (which sierra doesn't wanna admit yet). let's just say forced proximity is one of my favorite tropes and can do no wrong!
a lot of books i read focus too little on side characters, but revolve sprinkled in lots of characters i missed from collide. we see quite a bit of summer and aiden. they truly are the parents of the group. kian!! he still is hilarious. so many great moments with him. the found family in this book is chef's kiss.
revolve had a good amount of drama that wasn't unnecessary, a ton of cute moments, and an abundance of funny bits. it truly felt like such a romcom (disregarding all the spice haha). i loved this addition to the world of dalton university and hopefully we get kian's book next! fingers crossed :)
thanks to netgalley & berkley publishing group for this arc!!

This was my favorite of all the Collide series. The relationship between Dylan and Sierra was really sweet to watch unfold and the character arc of Dylan was great to see. I can only hope Bal will write about Kian next!

I did not finish this book unfortunately. I hadn't realized that this was the 3rd in a series and while I tried to read this as well as the 1st, I found I could not get into the story. The plot sounded fun in theory but ended up not being for me.

This is my first foray into any of Bal Khabra's books, but I'm hooked. Adored the relationship between Sierra and Dylan, and I'm sprinting to the library the moment I'm able to try and read the other books in this series!!

Two black cat love interests with trauma and found family??? Yes please. Miss Bal Khabra I would read your grocery lists.
“I’m here for all of you. All the parts that you think are broken are just more for me to love.” I sobbed

If you're loving the Bal Khabra Off the Ice series, you are going to love book three Revolve. It reminded me a lot of book 1, Collide, which I loved. Readers also get updates on characters we met in books 1 and 2. While this is book three, in the Off the Ice series, it can be read as a stand-alone too.

Thank you Berkley for the ARC of Revolve!
Another five star read by Bal Khabra!! I loved both Collide and Spiral, so I had high hopes for this one and it did NOT disappoint.
I absolutely LOVED Sierra as a character, and I loved seeing her open up to Dylan and learn to appreciate herself. I also loved Dylan. I am a SUCKER for the 'reformed playboy who only thinks he's good for sex and isn't worthy of love' trope and Dylan was IT. He just wanted to stay the night!! But he didn't think he could!! And he was sad about it!!
"See you around, Romanova"
"Walk into traffic, Donovan"
Their banter at the throughout was amazing, and I loved that they didn't stop teasing each other after they got together. And Dylan surprised me with his decision, but I was secretly hoping for it!!
Also the little tidbits from Peyton Corinne's Undone series made me giggle and kick my feet. If Bal and Peyton ever team up to write together, I will be the FIRST in line for that release.
I truly had such a good time with this book! I hope the next one is about Kian and Scarlett, but I will read whatever Bal decides to write next.
Thank you again Berkley and Bal Khabra for the ARC!

This is, without a doubt, both Bal's best work and my favorite book from Bal to date. This was absolutely incredible.
I was so enamored by both Sierra and Dylan from the jump, confident that there was a softer side to both of them that they didn't let those aorund them see. When they partnered up and were slow to show these hideen sides to them, they both worked so hard to peel back the layers of one another, and it led to this really really beautiful relationship exploration.
There was gentle caretaking, immense loyalty, and the found family Bal's characters have found at Dalton University genuinely make me weep.
Revolve is full of heart and is so tender. I cannot wait to reread this, and to get all my friends to not only read Revolve but all of the books in this series becuase they are truly some of the best.
I can't wait to continue shouting about this book until release day and well beyond it!!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC copy and the chance to review!
I really enjoy reading Bal Khabra's Off the Ice series. Revolve was definitely a very cute book. I enjoyed both characters (Dylan especially!) but thought that some of the details were confusing. I was also lost by the timeline. It seemed to move so quick, but then the ending was months out. I would've enjoyed seeing a time stamp at the top of each chapter. Overall it was cute and I would recommend to those who enjoyed the first two!

Arc Review !!
Tropes: sports romance, grumpy x grumpy, slow burn, enemies to lovers, forced proximity
I was a bit hesitant to start this book because hockey/sports romances can often be clique especially with how common they are but this book was such a pleasant surprise! The author did an amazing job showing the fmc work through her struggles from a previous injury and the mmc supporting her was just so amazing to read. I absolutely adored the hockey player x figure skater dynamic and everything that they became on the ice! I would recommend all of you to read this book if you are considering!
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for the e-ARC!

okay this is officially my fav book of the series so far!!! i’ve been such a huge fan of bal since i arc read collide (indie) and her writing truly gets better and better with every book
sierra & dylan’s story was so so good!! i honestly had no memory of dylan so i felt like i was meeting him for the first time and i loved it!! sierra & dylan both grew so much during the book and it was so special getting to see them open up and become more confident and comfortable
i was also so obsessed with how gentle dylan was with sierra. he refused to give up on her & he kept trying to be better for her <3
and the amount of aiden & summer in this >>>>

I really enjoyed this book! I really liked how much growth came from both characters. We meet them in the midst of their personal problems and see them work through them as individuals and together. Sierras accident and her difficult relationship with her past skating partner really traumatized her and left her feeling so low. It was really beautiful to watch her overcome that and fall in love with her sport and herself again. (I also love a sassy, angry woman so she was so fun to me!) Dylan was trying to break out of this partying lifestyle after he gets a wake up call. I enjoyed seeing him find himself and realize that his people will support him through it all. They were so cute together and were so patient with each other. I also love how developed and interesting the side characters are! Overall I really enjoyed this book and I love this series!

I’ve read all the books in this series and loved the two before this. I’m not sure if it was a combination of the terrible typo, plot holes (how did Dylan do a lutz in hockey skates without a toe pick?🤔), or how much more I wanted from the characters.
The book was SO LONG and dragged on the parts I didn’t care for but then left huge gaps in the story where I was wanting more. I felt so disconnected from Sierra. I wanted more on her injury, recovery, and overcoming those fears. Sure, Dylan helped, but him swooping in and dropping everything to help her pursue her dreams felt…off. How was therapy never a discussion for him? Him dropping literally everything, on top of his family issues, felt like something that should have been addressed🚩🚩🚩🚩
But everyone supported his pretty rash decision.
The book releases in October and was a huge anticipated read for me. Thank you NetGalley for an early e-ARC. I know ARC’s shouldn’t be rated for editing mistakes (or lack thereof) but there were SOOOOOO many that it made the reading experience so clunky.
And the time jumps felt so disjointed throughout. I struggled to push through. I enjoyed the story but am having a hard time feeling like it was worth it in the end.
I’d be willing to read again after release, because the first two were SO GOOD. I’m hoping a re-read with proper edits proves worthy.

I ended up not enjoying this one as much as I hoped. The whole figure skater needing a partner and teaming up with a hockey player has been done so many times, so if you're going to do it, it really has to bring something fresh. Honestly, nothing about these two stood out to me. There were definitely some cute moments and Dylan had a few solid one-liners, but overall the story felt choppy. The intimacy didn’t really land, and the personal growth arcs felt rushed or underdeveloped. It just didn’t hit the mark for me.

Bal Khabra has done it yet again. For the sometimes rabid fans of hockey romance, there are so many titles to choose from, but Revolve just has that something special. It's hot and cold all at the same time. My favorite element of the book (besides ice) is that the characters have so much depth. The interpersonal relationships are deep enough that it feels like the book has a real meaning. The book handles difficult topics like anxiety, eating problems, family relationships, and so much more. I love how easily you can related to the characters. The writing style is gorgeous, Bal Khabra balances the art of modernity without overdoing pop culture references.
Sierra has been ceremoniously dumped both literally and relationship wise by her skating partner. If she wants to get back into the competition she needs a new partner and fast. The problem? No one is willing to partner up with a fall risk like her. Add in her panic attacks when she goes back on the ice, Sierra's olympic star future is looking less bright than ever. Enter Dylan: A hockey star who has also been dumped from his team due to some less than stellar choices (and a failed drug test). Dylan will do anything it takes to get back on the ice to his team, so when he gets tasked with getting Sierra up and running he is up for the challenge. However when the ice between them starts to melt they have to navigate their relationship beyond partners.

🏒⛸️💚 i think i have to be real and give this a 3. love the cover so much and was super excited, i really do love a feisty girlie! i was also super excited to get to know dylan more, and this book makes me intrigued enough to get to (kian’s book?) one day.
overall, i found myself feeling like things were fast at times and slow at others which makes me take this to a 3.
also, berkley i’m available to be a proof reader, just saying.
thank you berkley & netgalley for the arc!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I knew I was going to love Revolve, and I did. Bal Khabra delivered exactly what I hoped for. It is a slow, emotional, character-driven romance that pulled me in from the very first chapter.
Sierra is such a strong main character. She has been through so much and is still trying to find her footing, both on and off the ice. Her return to skating is not easy, and the way her anxiety and trauma are portrayed feels honest and raw.
Then there is Dylan. He is the suspended hockey golden boy with too much charm and a lot of unresolved mess. I rolled my eyes at him in the beginning, and then somehow I was completely hooked. His dynamic with Sierra is tense and layered. They clash, they avoid, and they slowly learn how to see each other for who they really are.
The romance takes its time. There is no rushing into love or healing. Every emotional beat feels earned. The skating scenes are so vivid, and the friendships and emotional moments feel grounded and real. I especially appreciated how both characters are allowed to be messy and unsure. Nothing is tied up with a bow, but the growth feels authentic.
Revolve gave me everything I wanted. It is thoughtful, heartfelt, and full of quiet intensity. I already cannot wait to see what Bal Khabra writes next.

Thanks so much to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for the early copy. I loved getting to read this eARC. All thoughts are my own.

I think what I love most about this series is that the character's actually come across as their ages. I feel like how they process situations, deal with situations, and talk to each other fit a college aged person. Which I absolutely love.
What I love most about this book is how both MCs learn how to support the other. They see past the public facades they each put on for everyone else and stand strong when they need someone to.
This was a beautiful story of two people fighting through pain and trauma and coming out stronger.
I absolutely adore everything about this story and series.

I started out really hesitant with this book but ended up enjoying it quite a bit. Is it unrealistic? Yes. The whole idea of a hockey player (at the pro level) just being able to pick up figure skating after years of no practice (at an olympic level) is absolutely ridiculous. But maybe that’s what fiction is for and realism is overrated.
My biggest issue with the book that I do take quite seriously are the problems with consent that occurred in Dylan’s past exploits pre Sierra. He would constantly say that he woke up in a bed he didn’t recognize or with a girl he didn’t know with no recollection of the previous night due to being inebriated. This is such a huge issue and should not be normalized whatsoever because those are situations where consent is no longer possible.
In general though, this book is SPICY with like 6-7 scenes in total that are very well written. They didn’t feel cliche which I really appreciated. The pacing is decent and I wish it would’ve been a bit shorter as the last 30% seemed to drag on quite a bit. But outside of that it was a cute romance book and I enjoyed reading about how kind and caring they were with one another with mental health taking a very prominent role in the book.

This was a great third entry into this series. I liked getting to see Dylan and Sierra's story. Their chemistry was spot on and I love how lived-in the world feels, full of friendship, love, and banter. I also enjoyed how their story was a bit different than the previous two and included figure skating alongside hockey. Dylan's growth was also great and I enjoyed the subplot about his family. Here's hoping we get the chance to go back to Dalton for a fourth book!
