Revolve tells the story of Sierra Romanova, whose life is forever changed after a traumatic accident. Once her safe haven, the ice rink, becomes a place of fear and anxiety, Sierra can’t step back onto the ice without relying on medication to calm her nerves. Despite this, she is fiercely determined to reclaim her identity as an ice skater and push through her fears.
We also follow Dylan Donovan, who, after a reckless mistake gets him kicked off the hockey team, feels lost and without purpose. But before hockey, there was ice skating. Banned from hockey, Dylan begins spending more time with Sierra at the rink, hoping to redeem himself and earn a spot back on the team. As they grow closer, their feelings evolve, new goals emerge, and both must confront their personal struggles and fears.
Dylan is a selfless and deeply caring character. He would do anything for his friends and tries to shield them from his own burdens. On the surface, he’s outgoing and enjoys partying, but this is his way of coping and forgetting his troubles. What I loved most about Dylan was how attuned he was to Sierra’s body language, he knew how to approach her gently without overwhelming her, showing a level of respect and patience that felt authentic and heartfelt.
Reading Revolve took me on an emotional journey. The relationship between Dylan and Sierra is beautifully crafted. Sierra’s gradual opening up to Dylan, and Dylan’s patient, almost angelic support without pressure, made their connection feel genuine and tender. Their push-and-pull dynamic, especially during their ice skating moments, created wonderful tension and growth.
The side characters are equally memorable. I’m particularly intrigued by Kian’s story and curious about his romantic future. Summer and Aiden will always hold a special place in my heart. I first read Collide the week it was independently released, and my love for this series has only grown through Spiral and now Revolve.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for providing the ARC.

this was very much the fluffy “hockey” romance i needed in my current reading rotation. i love the plot twist of an ice skating focus versus your typical hockey romance but there was a little mix of the classic scenes in there!
i wish the storyline dove deeper into Sierra’s background bc while she was a spicy one, to only have had one person tell her that in the past, with such simultaneous support from her parents, it was lost on me how night & day her personality was.
also Dylan?? i get that he was the “always hold yourself together for others” person but his demeaning his entire being to just a sex god was not addressed as much as it could have been.
seeing their push & pull dynamic as they trained together was so interesting bc though they were initially selfish since the relationship was mutually beneficial for their individual goals, in the end they only cared about what was best for one another.
def a solid addition to the series, here’s to hoping we get Kian’s story nexttttt 😍

Sierra is a figure skater trying to come back from a traumatic fall during a pairs routine. Her former partner bailed, she’s got the yips, and she can’t find a new partner before the upcoming season deadline. Meanwhile, Dylan’s life is unraveling. He’s just been named hockey captain, but things are falling apart at home—and after a failed drug test, he’s suspended from the team. With nothing to lose, these two team up to help each other… and the rest is hockey romance history.
I love a Bal Khabra book. I know exactly what I’m getting: stellar writing, incredible chemistry between the leads, a diverse cast (seriously—thank you for representing more than just the typical hockey romance mold!), and just enough real hockey talk to make my day. This book delivers all of that.
That said… I did have a few hang-ups. Even with a healthy suspension of disbelief for romance, I struggled to buy Dylan as both an NCAA-level hockey captain and an Olympic-level figure skater. Triples? Double axels? Headed to the NHL and the rink with that kind of technical skill? Having experience in these sports, I just couldn’t quite get there. Also, once the couple got together, the constant emotional check-ins got a little repetitive. It was sweet—but very sappy, and it started to wear thin. And the book felt about 75 pages too long. A tighter ending would’ve helped the pacing a lot.
But—with all that said—I still loved this book. I loved diving into the world of figure skating and hockey. I loved the competitive tension, the friendships, and the ensemble cast (Kian… there has to be a book for you coming soon, right?). And I will always recommend and buy anything Bal Khabra writes. Her stories have heart, heat, and representation that the genre needs more of.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Such a fun read! I love ice skating romances I have literally no clue why! This was a great story. Thanks NetGalley and Berkley

Revolve by Bal Khabra is a raw, emotionally gripping story about healing, identity, and the kind of love that helps you piece yourself back together. Sierra and Dylan are beautifully flawed, and their connection is equal parts electric and tender. Khabra captures trauma and recovery with stunning honesty, never shying away from the hard moments. The chemistry between the leads is undeniable, but it’s the quiet, vulnerable scenes that truly shine. This isn’t just a sports romance—it’s a story about finding safety in someone else and learning to believe you deserve it. The writing is sharp, heartfelt, and filled with lines that linger long after the final page

I LOVED this book!!! Dylan and Sierra are an absolute powerhouse of a couple. Their story was so sweet and this series just holds such a special place in my heart!!! Bal did such an incredible job with this one and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Berkley for the arc, it was an absolute pleasure!!!

📖 Book Review 📖 Once every thirty years or so, a movie comes into existence that forever changes pop culture and creates a lasting imprint in the hearts of a generation. Since 1992, the phrase “toe pick” would never be the same and there is a special spot in our heart for a romance between a figure skater and a disgraced hockey player both looking for their shot at redemption. Bal Khabra takes us back to Dalton University with another simmering hot romance. Sierra is recovering from a near death accident on the ice that still leaves her reeling with anxiety and fear, unsure if she will ever resume her career as a doubles figure skater again. Trouble seems to follow hockey player Dylan wherever he goes, and a failed drug test threatens his future. Teaming up together could be their only hope; but neither expected is their chemistry on the ice and off. Khabra beautiful balances a budding romance with the aftermath of trauma, showcasing the powerful path of healing.

3.25/5
snarky main characters are superior!!
in my totally honest opinion, i had no recollection of dylan because its been awhile since i've read collide. but i love figure skaters having romances with hockey players so i picked this right up. i was hoping to enjoy it more than the second book but i feel like they're about the same for me. both felt like they had a lot of potential to be adorable and sweet but the turned out sorta bland...
a big issue for me was dylan in the beginning of this book, he's kinda ridiculously annoying. why are we continuously smoking and going out when you fail a drug test and are being kicked from the team. that was on the back of the book so my bad for ignoring it but once he grew up a bit this book was enjoyable. sierra was great to follow because we get to see her overcome mental blocks and succeed which was great. the romance just ended up being... idk there. i feel no overt connections to them. maybe this series has run its course or maybe collide was just my one and only baby.
if you're already an enjoyer of this series i think definitely pick this up in october but if not you might be okay missing out. also if you were looking for a mix between icebreaker and unsteady, look no further because she's right here. oh also if you like spinning out on netflix, read this.
*thank you netgalley and berkley for the arc!*

This book is the perfect mix of Netflix’s Spinning Out,” Mariana Zapata’s “From Lukov with Love,” and, of course, Hannah Grace’s “Icebreaker,” and I loved every second of it!
Sierra is a figure skater recovering from a horrible injury who is in need of a partner. Recently kicked off his hockey team, Dylan is eager to be back on the ice, even if it’s for figure skating.
They made the perfect pair both on and off the ice. I loved the banter and every aspect of their relationship.
This is by far my favorite book in this series. I read this book in two sittings and even had a dream about it; it was that captivating to me.

I maybe made the mistake of diving into this immediately after reading a different 5-star hockey romance book (Heart Check) so even though I am OBSESSED with a hockey player-figure skater trope, this one just didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I DNF’d the first book in the series but enjoyed the second; this one felt too long. I found myself skimming through most of the side plots, and though I liked Dylan and Sierra together, sometimes their banter got to be a bit much. I also felt like the last 30% or so had a lot of conflict and somehow still dragged.

When I read my ARC of Spiral last August, I knew Bal Khabra was one to keep my eye on in the world of hockey romance and I was so right. She blends sexy tension and emotional connection so well between the characters. The men she writes are so freaking sweet and her FMC's are always so relatable. Of course, hockey romances always have a found family at the centre and this was no different. Really hoping Khabra continues on in this series or just writes more sports romances because she really excels at them and I could read them for years to come!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was an addictive read and I ended up staying awake into the early hours of the morning so I could finish it! I haven't read the previous books in the series but I was able to slot myself into the story and world regardless. I especially loved the mental health rep with the characters.
The only negative was I think that sometimes the transition between chapters left me feeling as if I missed something.
Thank you so much to Berkley for this ARC.

if there's anything i know that will bring me out of a book slump i know its a cutesy hockey romance and bal khabra delivered!!!! revolve was such a good addition to the off the ice series, bringing back loved characters and expanding on ones we've already met. dylan and sierra were so cute!!! i loved their dynamic. also can we please talk about the confirmation that this and peyton corrine's series exist in the same universe. i am so excited i love that so much.
thanks to netgalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I will always read a book by Bal Khabra.
Revolve is the third book in her sports romance series, and while not my favourite of the series, it was still really enjoyable! I was immediately a little hesitant about Dylan, party boys are not my go-to for a romance lead. And boy did I want to call him an idiot a few times! However, his story with Sierra was good and I loved them skating pairs together.
A big inconsistency I noticed in the writing though was the use of the nicknames princess and firefly. I'm not sure if Bal switched them part way through, but I hope that it gets edited before the final draft. There were only a few mentions of firefly but they felt like they had meaning , but then were also swapped out to Princess for most of the book. Possibly nitpicky, but something I noticed.
There were a lot of themes around family, body positivity, and found family, which Bal continues to excel at. And of course the romance is excellent.

No surprise here—I absolutely adored Revolve. There’s just something about this series that always gets me. Dylan and Sierra’s story is sweet, sexy, and so much fun. I’m a sucker for a good Golden Retriever/Black Cat dynamic, and this one delivered in full. Honestly, this might be my favorite Off The Ice installment yet! 🏒⛸️❄️😊

Dylan, the playboy we know from Collide is 'forced' to be Sierra's ice skating partner. After her partner drops her (literally) in a figure skating competition, no one wants to partner with her. She is cursed, they said. She is determined to redeem her reputation on the ice.
He messed up. He needs to be out of his suspension. If being her partner will achieve that, so be it.
Can they stop fighting to be partners and trust each other? With their goals and hearts
I like Dylan and Sierra better than Eli and Sage. GASP
more in depth review to come
I hope you keep writing and inspiring readers Bal <3

Revolve is the third book in this series and while it wasn’t my favorite, it definitely had good parts. The chemistry between Sierra and Dylan was hooooot (at times). My issue with this one was that the story just seemed so choppy like days of time went by and the only thing that broke it up was a text message between paragraphs. I had to read some things over because I kept getting confused.
BUT- one thing about Bal Khabra’s books is that she keeps up fed on seeing characters from her other novels- I loved Summer and Aiden so their part in this story is fun.
Thanks NetGalley and Berkley for an ARC!

I’ve enjoyed this series thus far and was excited to read the next installment. I really enjoyed the FMC but this book felt stuffed to the brim of not only romance tropes but everything that could go wrong went wrong. I thought I had gotten to the 3rd act conflict multiple times, but there were just a lot of conflicts! Overall a pleasant time, but I was disappointed.

"Revolve" by Bal Khabra is an outstanding masterpiece that captivates with its compelling narrative and profound insights. A definite 5-star read that leaves a lasting impression long after the final page. Thanks Net galley!
