A nice mellow read of two protagonists who suffer from autism-H, and anxiety-h, and how they have a met cure that grows into friendship, support and a hea.

This was a great end to the series.

I can’t say that I’ve ever read a romance book about a message in a bottle! This story was definitely unique!

I think this series as come to an end and I am sad! The first in it was the weakest but I felt that I would like the author's books in the future and I was right. We have two very sweet, kind, and gentle people in our leads. I really like when the story is about two people who really seem right for each other. In this case they both are understanding, Willa is understanding of Ben's autism coded ways and gives him the grace to be himself. I honestly really understand the issue with people not be direct, I don't have as hard a time with understanding people but I get it. And Ben's kindness towards her fear of the ocean. He didn't scoff and view it as childish he tried to relate and help her overcome it in very kind ways so that it didn't own her so. The mystery of the illness in his household. I guessed the who a little early on but I liked that they worked together to try to figure out the what and who. It just went to further show how good they were together. His father though... grrr. I am glad they both knew what was in their hearts. I can't wait to read more by this author.

Note this is a clean romance with a few kisses.

Message in a bottle...

Ben meets WS in an unlikely manner. Through a message in a bottle. He believes he is writing to a young boy that he is rescuing from dire boredom. WS is simply looking for a circulating library or a place to obtain reading material in 1822 in Castle Rock Cove.

Willa is bored as she and her family convalesce by the sea. She's well and is in need of reading material. Ben writes back and they begin a friendship. There is some drama, but this is a clean read and I really did enjoy the slow burn of Willa and Ben getting to know each other as friends and through reading material. Plus, Ben is a decent sort, a true gentleman.
Recommend.

A sweet and clean romance with charming, well-drawn characters. While the central conflict was predictable and easy to spot before the characters caught on, it didn’t detract from the enjoyment of the story. A light, engaging read overall.

A message in a bottle brings two unlikely people together. The initial meeting between Ben and Willa results in some confusion for both of them, but as they get to know a little more about each other and a connection is made, it brings about a friendship that develops into something more. Unfortunately, the path of true love is marred by recurring bouts of illness in Ben's family. After a while, suspicions are aroused, and an enemy of the family is revealed. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This is a nice and clean romance novel, with a side of mystery. I must admit to having guessed whodunnit and how early on, but it was nice to see it develop. It was an interesting chance to have an autistic leading man, though he came across more Sheldon Cooper than regency man with the language style he used. Overall it’s a nice book to while away an hour or two

Ben and Willa meet in an unusual manner that caused me to gravitate towards this book. I'm thrilled that I did. Both characters have what society today calls anxiety while in years gone by was called everything from witchcraft to insanity. A historical look with a more modern understanding of triggers and fears, it takes us on the journey with Ben and Willa while they become embroiled in a mystery of events. Well paced and creatively written, this story kept me up till the wee hours finishing it. Very worth the read.

Willa and Ben were so perfect for each other. It's so refreshing to see two characters who "get" one another when others might find them to be eccentric. The message in a bottle was such a cute way to meet. They both erroneously thought the other person was going to be the same gender when they meet after writing letters, and it's priceless when they discover the truth.

Along the way they also solve an attempted murder, which I'm sure doesn't happen very often at Castle Rock Cove. Great way to end the Beau Monde Secrets series!

Thank you to Dragonblade for the copy of this book. Opinions are my own.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley and devoured it in less than 24 hours. Of the four novellas in this series, this one was my favorite for the romance plot and the characters. I loved both Ben and Willa individually and as a couple. They were also great as autistic and anxiety rep, respectively (Willa does not have generalized anxiety, but rather a specific phobia). I also really enjoyed the way the novellas in this series tied together--we do get glimpses of characters from past books, but the characters are more loosely associated than in most Regency romance series, which is a refreshing break. The mystery plot for this novel built more slowly than some of the others, and parts of it were easier to predict (but not all of it!), but it was still very satisfying to watch it play out. Overall, I really enjoyed this series as a fun, compelling Regency closed-door romance/mystery series, and I thought it finished on a very strong note!
