This title follows the long-time Cussler formula of historical adventure with characters cheating death at seemingly every 15 pages. During WW I before the U.S. enters the conflict, detective Isaac Bell is sent to the Western Front to observe the conflict and report back to President Wilson on what the U.S. can expect if the country enters the war. From this opening, Bell finds himself in the trenches, zooming through an airplane dogfight, a prisoner of the Germans and more. Readers looking for a page-turning thriller that requires suspension of belief will find lots to like here. Cameos of famous historical figures are sprinkled throughout from Churchill to the Red Baron. Great fun.

Issac Bell is asked by the president to go check out the scene in Europe. If you’ve read any of these books you know nothing just goes straight forward. He travels by boat, trains and plans trying to accomplish his mission. Read along for his adventures! Highly recommend!

This is an over the top action packed adventure. The main character goes from one life threatening experience to another. It does provide a realistic description of WWI and the beginning of mechanized warfare b

Isaac Bell is everything you want as the hero of an action adventure novel. Willing go into dangerous situations, help those that need help, protect the vulnerable, protect the nation and never give up until the bad guy is stopped. This book is all that and more. Lots of fun twists and a couple of times I was waiting for Clive Cussler to come through and help Bell but he managed it all on his own. Great book that keeps you engaged to the very end.

This is #15 in the Isaac Bell series ,a historical fiction series began by Clive Cussler now written by Jack Du Brul.
In every way another Isaac Bell adventure that doesn't disappoint! Non-stop action, danger and suspense as Isaac is on a mission for President Wilson to go to the British front lines of WWI and determine if the Americans should send troops to assist the Allies. As always , Isaac take the job very seriously and goes above and beyond with no regard for personal safety to get his "man". Plane crashes, ship sinkings, bombs, guns and bullets flying to the end. Just when you think everything is going okay the next disastrous thing happens.
The reader won't be able to put it down. This is a fabulous read !
