I am a sucker for a strange novel or even just a book with a weird title. I found both in ”Vampire Strippers from Saturn” by Vincenzo Bilof. The novel promised to be a bizarre adventure of the strangest kind and I happily slipped into its pages hoping for a weird story.

Vampires were becoming the rage and Rene was the driving force behind this. Rene leads a trio of vampires who have come to the Earth to destroy it. In order to establish a foothold on the planet, they have decided to use the human's lust against them and became strippers. Unfortunately, the vampires are not the only race of beings with their sights set on Earth. Demons have followed the vampires to Earth and plan on ending the reign of man on the planet. What is a vampire to do when forced to choose between the forces of two beings their view as evil?

Rene had led the vampires to Earth to start the apocalypse the vampires had set up the strip club to feed upon the men and their lust. Rene’s feelings of love for a mythical creature that is half-horse, however, threatens to undermine everything they are working for. With the demons closing in, Rene and the vampires know they must take action if their mission is to succeed. To try to push their plan forward, she ramps up the strip club and promotes a vampire lifestyle for the masses to consume. Will the vampires be able to push their plan forward and conquer the Earth or will the demons destroy them first? Or will the humans somehow rally and save the world for themselves?

So what is “Vampire Strippers from Saturn?” That is not an easy question to answer. There are many different levels to the story from the simple, carnal sexuality of the novel to the twisted psychology that lies underneath the story. None of it makes sense at first glance and the reader is left to put the many threads of the story together but this is what makes the story work. What exactly is this story about? That is not an easy question to answer either and the answer is going to vary from reader to reader.

Why are there so many questions in this review? Because that is just the kind of story “Vampire Strippers from Saturn” is. There are no simple answers in this story and no simple actions either. The story jumps round as the story kind of drifts through the narrative and almost seems to be something transported into our world using the time travel technology the demons use to hunt the vampires. There is almost no realism to the story and Bilof makes the rules up as he goes long but that is what makes the story work. While the reader may often get confused about what the story is supposed to mean, it is always entertaining and thought provoking. “Vampire Strippers from Saturn” is definitely not a novel for everyone but fans of bizarre fiction are sure to enjoy it.
