The book is written very well and flows perfectly. The book was gripping and I couldn't put it down. It was a fantastic read.

The leafy Twickenham setting sounded picturesque. Although it was a nightmare for Clara!!

The characters were all excellent. Like the majority of excellent thrillers. There's always something about each of the characters slightly unlikable. Even wee Poppy had her moments!

This was an enjoyable read though slightly predictable. I guessed where the book was going pretty quickly!!!

Wow! Talk about suspense and twists!!! This book had me guessing and changing my suspicions throughout the book. Poor Clara! Imagine moving into a house only to learn that a murder-suicide occurred there! Add in strange, questionable neighbors and unsettling happenings that make Clara (and me) very uneasy. There were some things I found annoying at times (her husband Mike quickly siding with Josie & Poppy's whining), but it all ties everything together. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down!

Well. I’ll be honest. I guessed every single plot twist in this book. The book started pretty strongly but then slowly but surely started to lose my attention and you know the feeling when you’re around the middle of a thriller and your inner self is screaming at author to just stop and finally come to an end with oh very surprising plot twist

grab it. If no…

I may sound sarcastic but i have to say one thing—this book wasn’t HORRIBLE. It was more like a cheap thriller that took author one week to write plus another one edit. But maybe it’s just me i really didn’t enjoy the characters or the plot or the writing style of it, but if you’ll decide to read this, i hope you will enjoy it.

This psychological thriller starts with a strong premise and an intriguing sense of mystery that immediately pulls you in. The atmosphere is tense, and there’s a constant feeling that something isn’t quite right, which kept me curious. The pacing in the first half is solid, with enough buildup to make you want to know what happens next.

However, as the story moves forward, some of the twists become a bit predictable, and a few character choices felt hard to believe, which took away some of the tension. While the writing is engaging and easy to follow, I wished for deeper character development to make the stakes feel more intense.

Overall, I’d give it 3 stars an entertaining read with a good setup, but it didn’t fully deliver on the suspense and complexity I was hoping for.

Unfortunately this was a huge disappointment. Not alot happens here just a few strange things happening in a families new home. Strange noises, taps being left on, their 2 year old complaining of seeing a girl with no face.

So right from the start of living in their new home Clara hears noises in the attic, something that sounds like footsteps but does she go and have a look, nope not til months later that's when she finds out what's been going on.

The whole story is just abit silly and the characters are just so unlikeable. Clara must have the worst friend and husband that a person could have.

The stupid decisions and the way the husband behaved just irrated me so much, I found myself continually rolling my eyes. People just don't behave like that.

The Woman At No. 3 by Rebecca Collomosse was a great quick read and a great book for your holidays. This was a book that just had me hooked from the very first chapter and I ended up sitting in the shade in my garden reading it, especially as it was a well written book and I enjoyed it. This author is new to me and I will be reading more from her in the future.

This was a good, quick read. I was hooked from the beginning and anxious to find out what exactly was going on. Was the neighbor a crazy person? Was the house haunted? So many questions and I couldn’t get to the answers fast enough! Perfect read for fans of Freida McFadden and John Marr.

The Woman At No. 3 wastes no time in setting the stage for an intriguing story. From the very beginning when you meet the neighbors, you can tell something is amiss, but naturally you have no idea why.

After moving into their dream home, a family faces a series of incidents that are not just frustrating, also unnerving. Broken appliances, electricity blackouts, and noises in the attic are only the start. When messages appear on their toddlers message board, and night terrors begin, things start to feel more sinister. What secrets does this house hold? The neighbors seem to have secrets of their own. The dream home starts to feel more like a nightmare the family can’t escape.

Although I did predict many of the twists, there was one in particular I didn’t see coming. Truthfully one part of the book gave me the creeps and I had to stop reading for the night. The story also has inner monologue scattered throughout and I couldn’t decide who the thoughts belonged to and that kept the vibe suspenseful until the end.

Thank you NetGalley and Joffe books for the chance to read and review this ARC.

This was a very fast paced thriller, which I loved. I haven’t read too many thrillers where the neighbors are the issue, so I really enjoyed that. Overall, I thought this was a quick and entertaining read.

I found this to be a brilliantly addictive story which gripped me right from the start. There was plenty of tension and suspense which kept me invested in reading the story. Fancy finding your dream home, moving in but finding a few problems on the very first day! Then there are the lights going off then on again a little bit later and noises in the loft, just what is going on? Then some nights Poppy would wake up screaming and wailing. She was convinced there was something in the corner of her room with no face! I thought the author has written a superb psychological story with a great eye for detail on describing her characters and their traits. The story is beautifully written with great descriptive text that really describes everything really well. It’s been well plotted with some great twists and turns. The storyline has been well thought out. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and it was very easy to read. I haven’t read this author before but I would like to read more of her books as this book kept me hooked right to the end.

Blurb :

The moment we moved in, I knew something was wrong.

We’ve finally found our dream home. It’s perfect for our little family: my hardworking husband Mike, my two-year-old daughter Poppy, and me. Three nice bedrooms. An Aga. A river view. And, best of all, a garden for Poppy to play in.

But something is off.

A cracked stove. Scribbles on the wall. The lights flicking off every evening — always at the same time. Our daughter crying in the night, pointing at the corner of her room. “She has no face.”

Then I met Josie, the woman at No.3.

Pale. Polite. Smiling. Obsessed. She knows things she shouldn’t. Offers to babysit my daughter again and again. And when I told her no — she didn’t like that.

Now the gifts are arriving. Notes through the door. A bottle left in the kitchen with no explanation. And my daughter won’t stop screaming in her sleep.

Everyone thinks I’m imagining it. But I know what I saw. What I heard.

We finally found our dream home. But what if our worst nightmare lives next door . . . ?

Rebecca Collomosse delivers an atmospheric and emotionally charged mystery in The Woman at No. 3, a gripping tale that blends domestic suspense with a creeping sense of unease. At its heart is a young family full of hope and excitement as they move into their first home—a moment filled with joy and anticipation that Collomosse captures with vivid, heartfelt detail.

But as the story unfolds, the dream quickly begins to unravel. Subtle oddities give way to unsettling events, and what begins as a fresh start soon turns into a chilling nightmare. The suspense builds gradually, drawing the reader in with a growing sense of dread that escalates with each chapter.

The twist—when it comes—is both unexpected and deliciously disturbing, turning the narrative on its head and adding a darker, more sinister layer to an already gripping story. Collomosse’s writing is sharp and immersive, perfectly balancing the emotional stakes with the tension of the mystery.

The Woman at No. 3 is a compelling and twisty read that keeps you second-guessing every character and motive. With its relatable premise and eerie execution, it’s a standout in the domestic thriller genre.
