This book was so much fun to read! A mix of animal noises and actual information, this is perfectly written to engage young readers in a fun way while also including actual information about all of the animals introduced. Beautiful illustrations as well!

Thank you NetGalley and Charlesbridge for the ARC of Who's Making All That NOISE?! by Darrin Lunde!
I read this to my upcoming first grader and she really liked this book! She really liked guessing what animal was making what noise using the context clues of the background and the animals hearing the noise.
It was a cute way to introduce animal sounds that are the usual ones kids hear and have them use visual clues with the setting of each sound and other animals that are in that area to guess what animal was making that sound. I can see my kids reading and liking this book because of the illustrations!

Who's Making All That Noise is a book that invites kids to listen to animal sounds and guess which animal is making them. Each pairing of a sound and an animal is followed by some fast facts, as well as accompanied by vibrant cartoon-style illustrations. Some sounds will be easy for kids to guess (a woodpecker), while others may be more challenging or surprising (a quacking frog)! This will be a fun read-aloud for early elementary classrooms, especially during science or animal units. Adult readers should preview the story ahead of time to prepare their best sound effects!

Written by zoologist and Smithsonian collections manager Darrin Lunde, this book is all about knowing and mimicking animals that hammer, click and roar! It's about the noise, who is making it, and what it is saying. But not the guys on the front cover! Good fun and lotsa laughs trying to imitate the sounds!
The illustrations by Erica J. Chen are colorful, imaginative, and FUN.
Well suited for reading alone or WITH someone young or not, including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school, waiting room, or your local public library!

Great introduction to onomatopoeia and nonfiction through the ever popular world of animals. Vibrant colors as well as a question and answer format are reminiscent of Eric Carle. Would have been cool to have some more unique animals included that kids love- axoltles, otters, flamingos, hedgehogs, etc.

thought that this was very interesting. I really liked that while this is meant for 3-7 year olds, you can still learn something from it at any age!

Who's Making All That NOISE?! was a fun read! My son laughed hysterically at me trying to impersonate the animals while trying guess what animal could be making that noise. I loved the educational component that taught us why the animal was making that particular noise. An extra bonus was how beautiful the illustrations were!

I love it when I find a children's book that teaches me something! Who's Making All That Noise encourages children to think about animal sounds, and helps them discover that some animals make sounds they may not know about. Although the main part of this book is readily accessible for children aged 3-6, the last few pages are written for an older audience. I would enjoy having a copy of this book in my first grade classroom. My three year old daughter loved it.
Thank you to Charlesbridge and NetGalley for an ARC of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

Not only is Who's Making All That NOISE?! beautifully illustrated, it also provides an interesting assortment of noisy animals. Along with the reveal of the noisemakers are reasons as to why those particular sounds are made. More fun facts about animal sounds are included at the end. This will be a popular addition to a library's collection.
Thanks to Charlesbridge, Darrin Lunde and NetGalley for this ARC.

My child has not stopped repeating "Who's Making All That Noise?" even though we will be reading a completely different book. The illustrations were gorgeous, the book was fun for him, and it's clearly an earworm for my child. It was informative and fun. My son had a lot of questions so it sparked a great conversation.
