The Worry-Worry Whale Made 32 Mistakes is a Pout-Pout Fish spin-off about Willa Whale. Willa hates making mistakes, but as she talks with others, she starts to realize that making mistakes is all a part of learning new things. Even grownups make mistakes! This would be a great story for early elementary students who are often worried about making mistakes. The story is written in rhyme and will hold the attention of little listeners. The audio production narration is very clear and can be sped up without losing that clarity.
Thanks to Macmillan Young Listeners and NetGalley for an ALC of this audiobook for an honest review.

**Review of *The Worry-Worry Whale Made 32 Mistakes* by Deborah Diesen (Narrated by Fred Berman)**
This delightful children's book tackles an important theme with warmth and charm. The story follows an anxious young whale who becomes upset after making 32 mistakes during his ocean adventures. Through his journey, he learns that everyone makes mistakes - from small seahorses to large octopuses - and that errors are simply part of life and learning.
Fred Berman's narration perfectly captures the whale's initial worry and eventual relief, with a light, cheerful tone that keeps the story uplifting. The production quality supports the narrative without distracting from its comforting message. At just the right length for young listeners, this audiobook manages to be both entertaining and meaningful.
I give it 5/5 stars for its gentle approach to childhood anxiety. It's an excellent resource for parents and teachers helping children ages 4-8 develop resilience and self-acceptance. The relatable protagonist and positive message make this a story children will want to hear repeatedly. Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC.

Thank you NetGalley for an audio ARC.
This is such a great book! I love that it glorifies making mistakes when learning. This is super helpful for children who are perfectionists or have trouble continuing to try new things if they aren't good at them the first time. This is a great resource that I will personally use as well as recommend to other parents/teachers of young children. I LOVE the pout pout fish and love even more that he has this friend of the worry-worry whale, so that kids who know and love the pout pout fish can learn new life lessons from his new friend.

"It’s OK to Make Mistakes!" – A Must-Listen for Young Learners
Listened to this with my 2nd grader, and when it finished, she looked at me and said, “It’s okay to make mistakes.” What more could I ask for? This story delivers a powerful and age-appropriate message about resilience, learning, and self-confidence.
Willa Whale, first introduced in The Pout-Pout Fish and the Worry-Worry Whale, shines in her own story as she navigates the ups and downs of trying something new. The fun narration, music, and special effects kept us both engaged, and the message truly stuck.
Willa’s journey—making 32 mistakes!—is a gentle reminder that we grow through trying, not by getting everything right the first time. A fantastic listen for kids (and grown-ups!) learning that perfection isn’t the goal—progress is.
Highly recommend for families, classrooms, or anyone helping a child build confidence!

Great audiobook for preschoolers!
My 3 year old has loved the pout pout fish series since she was an actual baby. The worry-worry whale made 32 mistakes is encouraging, positive, and an engaging story that my preschooler was able to talk about with me. I think it would make an excellent Tonie figure or Yoto card!

I liked this story as a read aloud for students in the beginning of the year. The call backs to other characters from other books will excite them. The worries could have been more relevant to students daily struggles with comparison if they looked at the other characters mistakes, but over all a great read.

The narration in this is absolutely fantastic! The narrator did a wonderful job. I also love the music playing in the background.
The story itself is really nice and an important message for children (and honestly adults too) to learn. Mistakes are okay and a good way to learn! It’s definitely a good reminder for myself.
Thank you for the arc!

Aww was so excited to see this on NetGalley after recently reading pout pout fish and the worry whale recently! My 3.5 year old enjoyed listening to the audio with me! The message of the story is great for little kids - that it’s okay to make mistakes! Narrators voice was engaging!

I love that this story's moral is that mistakes are about learning and progress. It's a very scientific approach to mistakes rather than a perfectionist approach. I think this book will be a confidence booster that both parents and kids can appreciate.
