This cozy fantasy was a beautifully written story that follows Terlu Perna (who, if you read “The Spellshop” is the librarian who created Caz, the sentient spider plant). While this is a stand alone novel, there are nods to “The Spellshop” that are subtle but made me quite happy because this world that is created for these stories is one that I can throw myself into and get lost, in a good way.

The Enchanted Greenhouse starts with Terlu awakening from her recent punishment (not deserved) of being turned into a statue because of her use of “illegal” magic. She awakens on a seemingly deserted island filled with empty greenhouses and soon stumbles upon a grumpy gardener, Yarrow, who is tending to the grounds. While the two get acquainted with each other they have some interesting adventures along the way that include a spunky flying cat, talking plants, mythical creatures, and magic. Along the way we also see the very slow-burn romance form that we all know was inevitable.

4.25 stars is my rating for this book, and the reasoning is because “The Spellshop” was a solid 5 stars and I feel like while this was a great read, it isn’t on the same rating level as it’s companion novel. This is a great book to escape into if you are a fan of cozy fantasy with a side of romance. “The Enchanted Greenhouse” Will give you all the warm fuzzies, bring random smiles to your face and leave you wanting more stories from this magical world.
Thank you NetGalley and Sarah Beth Durst for the opportunity to review this beautiful story that I received as an ALC.

This was the perfect companion to The Spellshop. It is a fun, cozy fantasy with sassy sentient plants. Terlu and Yarrow are the blueprint for grumpy/sunshine. They start as reluctant partners but grow into something much more. Plus, who doesn’t love a man who bakes??
After everything Terlu has endured over the last six years, she could easily refuse to help Yarrow. She chooses to go far outside her comfort zone and risks much steeper consequences for the greater good of this island and its inhabitants. It was humorous and heartwarming but the miniature, treasure-hoarding dragons really stole the show.

Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC!

So I have been really trying hard to love this series!! I think part of the problem is that they are 12 hours!! The characters are great, the coziness and fantasy is so sweet. But ugh I just wanted it to wrap up already. And I love this narrator she is one of my favorites. But I wont be continuing this series, just not for me.

The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst is just the sweetest, cutest enchanted book! I loved it just as much as The Spellshop. Her writing is so beautifully done with descriptions that you can smell and taste.
Terlu Perna was a librarian in Alyssium and was so lonely she decided to create a magical sentient plant, even though it’s against the law. She is found guilty of doing so and sentenced to become a statue in the very library where she works.
Terlu gets freed from her statue version and finds herself in an unknown area where she and only one other human live; a grumpy gardener charged with taking care of all the magical plants on this land.
As Terlu finds her confidence and slowly gets the gardener to open up to her, she realizes that the magical plants on the island need help to reawaken, and she is the only one who is able to help!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book!

I loved this cozy fantasy. This story focuses on Terlu, who is being punished along with her sentient spider for casting a magic spell and ends up on this magical island. There she finds this enchanted greenhouse and the groundskeeper Yarrow. The world is very similar to that of The Spellshop, Durst's previous novel. Filled with charming characters and some opposites attract romance. This is great.

Audiobook Review
🌟🌟🌟🌟
The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst is my first book by this author and will not be my last. If you are wanting a cozy, whimsical, magical, flower-type vibe, this book is highly recommended! I enjoyed this book; I didn't want to put it down.

The audiobook is narrated by Caitlin Davies. She did a good job doing different voices for different characters. She did a phenomenal job. It was easy to listen to and understand. I listened at 2x speed.

Thank you, NetGalley and Macmillan Audio, for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

This is follow-up to Durst’s hit The Spellshop, a book I really loved, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one. While not quite a sequel since we don’t see the same characters, the book does exist in the same world and tells the story of Terlu who was mentioned in the first book as the wayward creator of Caz who is punished by being turned into a statue.

The Enchanted Greenhouse gives us Terlu’s story after the revolution in the empire when she is finally awakened from her imprisonment on an island full of enchanted greenhouses, which are slowly failing one by one. The gardener, and only human resident, Yarrow is trying to find a sorcerer but ends up with Terlu. Together, along with some additional sentient plant friends, they must find a way to stop the death of the greenhouses and their inhabitants.

This is an adorable cozy book full of charming characters and lush descriptions. I really enjoyed the slow building of Terlu and Yarrow’s relationship, and the support and understanding they give one another to face their issues. My one problem with this book was that I was only able to get this on audio which, much like the first book on audio, did not work for me. It was mostly fine other than any moments where the narrator is portraying strong emotion and ended up sounding like she was about to start balling. Overall though this bothered me more in the first half of the book, much less in the second. If you want to read this, I recommend another medium.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this early copy! Full four stars for loveliness and charm. All opinions are my own.

A delightful companion to The Spellshop! The Enchanted Greenhouse is a cozy fantasy set in the same world but with different characters. It follows librarian Terlu Purna, the creator of Kaz (the sentient spider plant from book 1) who was punished for using illegal magic by being turned into a wood statue. Years later, she awakens in a magical greenhouse on a distant island where the lone remaining gardener (a gruff and introverted man who is handsome and an excellent baker) is struggling to maintain things after the death of the death of the island wizard and the degradation of the spells maintaining the greenhouses.

We get a grumpy/sunshine slowburn romance with a plus-size heroine, more sentient plant companions, and a lovely story about letting people in, finding healing, and embodying your purpose. If you liked The Spellshop you should definitely pick this up. The audio narration is great, the perfect cozy vibes with wonderful characters! I received an audio review copy via NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The Enchanted Greenhouze by Sarah Beth Durst.

What an absolutely adorable read! I loved Sarah’s first book and this one continued to build this very beautiful and enchanting world. I’m really hoping she continues exploring other locations in this world with new characters and definitely will read whatever she puts out!

I loved the entire story in this book. I loved the plants and the magic. And the love story was so freaking adorable. Finally, I truly loved the representation of families and what they can look like. It was so precious.

A HUGE thank you to @brambleromance for this absolutely stunning arc! If you like cozy fantasy then @sarahbethdurst should be your go-to author. Her writing is so atmospheric and magical. It just transports you into these fantastical worlds. I love a good personified object and Sarah is the absolute master of personified objects. I was obsessed with her spider plant given life in spell shop, so you bet I was obsessed with all of the plants alive in this story.

Terlu created a plant that came to life as a librarian, which is against the law. Her punishment was to be turned to stone and set as an example in the library for anyone else who dared break the law. And I'm not just talking about for a little bit, SIX YEARS! When she wakes up she finds herself on a tiny Island filled with broken down greenhouses and a single Gardener who needs her help.

What an absolutely magical story!

What a magical sequel! I am so happy that we as readers not only learned of Terlu, but got a whole book dedicated to her. This was a great companion to The Spellshop. I felt as though any lingering questions were answered well. I now want a book for all of the islands in this world! The story overall was very heartwarming and wholesome. My heart was full as the characters each find the people who they call family.

This is my second book by the author. I loved the spellshop, this felt very similar in vibes to that one. If you like everything cozy, like talking plants and enchanted greenhouses, flying cats and all the humane characteristics of some plants. It was such a cozy, magical treat.
And the romance was good too. Teh talkative FMC, Terlu, who was previously a librarian who had to suffer years of punishment for a simple mistake and Yarrow, the gardener of the dying greenhouses were the main characters in this book. They start to work on the mission of saving the enchanted greenhouses from dying and their relationship was inevitable.
All in all, it was such a cozy and funny book to curl up with a hot coffee and blanket.
This is set in the same world as the spellshop, and there are connections too, but could be read as a standalone. If you have read The spellshop and loved it, this will work for you too.

The audiobook narrators did such a good job, it was really engaging and lively

Another adorable cozy fantasy by Sarah that I adored! Set in the same world as The Spellshop, we know get to meet Tarlu who had previously been turned into a statue and stood in the great library. Tarlu finds herself on an almost abandoned island with hundreds of enchanted greenhouses and one very grumpy gardener. Together with the gardener and her new friend who is a sentient rose, they work towards fixing the enchanted greenhouses before the magic in them disappears. All of the characters in this book are just the sweetest and the romance is very wholesome. The messages of hope, healing yourself and found family really bring together the coziness of the story. So perfectly done!

Thank you to Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC of this book.

Thank you so much for this ALC!

The narration (5 stars) in this audiobook is wonderful. It really kept me focused and captivated. She was so emotive and really made me feel things alongside the characters.

The story (4 stars) was really sweet and cozy. I enjoyed learning about Terlu and her strengths and insecurities. She's really easy to root for. The romance and friendships in this story are so sweet and enchanting. The plot itself with the magic was so unique, I loved it and was so stressed about how they would solve the problem.

This was a surprising read for me, I'm usually not that big of a fan of cozy fantasy (my tastes lean more grim dark) but this was fun. A lot more happened in this story than I was expecting and I enjoyed every plot line. I especially really liked the subplot of romance, the progression of their relationship was really sweet. Also the talking plant were very entertaining! My only complaint is that I feel like the book was a bit too long, but I still had a good time overall. If you're a cozy fantasy fan then I think you'd really love this book!

I listened to this on audio and the performance was done very well. I especially loved the narrators performance for the talking rose, she was lowkey the best character

If you LOVED The Spellshop, The Enchanted Greenhouse was just as cozy and magical!

The Enchanted Greenhouse follows Terlu, a lonely librarian who creates the sentient spider plant, Caz, when she needs a friend. After Caz is discovered, Terlu is turned in and found guilty of unapproved sorcery. As punishment, she is spelled to become a statue. One winter day, Terlu wakes in the middle of a forest on what she thinks is a deserted island. That is, until she runs into the grumpy gardener, Yarrow, who cares for the magical greenhouses. Yarrow and the greenhouses give Terlu's life purpose again.

The audiobook for The Enchanted Greenhouse was one of my favorites I've listened to this year. Caitlin Davies has done a wonderful job with the narration for this world. Cozy fantasies have easily become one of my favorite genres, and Sarah Beth Durst makes her books so memorable and easy to consume. I've already pre-ordered this book because the cover is BEAUTIFUL and I love the solid sprayed edges. This one is a must-add to your TBR.

hank you to NetGalley, MacMillan Audio, and Sarah Beth Durst for the ALC of The Enchanted Greenhouse. All opinions in this review are my own.

this author’s imagination is just so magical and I love being inside her books! the whole story was perfect and I loved all the different characters and Ty with little personalities. I still loved The Spellshop a little more, but I’m so happy I listened to this audio because it was just so heartwarming and sweet and fun!

We return to the Crescent Islands where Durst takes us by the hand through a world of enchantment, greenery, and a whole lot of sweet romance.

Kaz must have come from somewhere right? Someone who loved to the point of creation and suffered the consequences of the oppressive kingdom as a result. Terlu Perna awakens after six years imprisoned as a statue in the recently fallen Great Library of Alyssum. Alone on a strange new island, she stumbles onto a enchanted greenhouse and a grumpy gardener who will have to let go in order to grow something better.

Caitlin Davies does an effective job of bringing these characters to life with enough dynamic range to differentiate between characters and evoke both humour, emotion, and shrill annoying voices of the plants.

Finally, it had a touching throw to the first book and was a warm cozy fantasy for lovers of flora, baking, and of course - books!

4/5 Stars.

This book was a fun, cozy fantasy read. It follows Terlu, a librarian, who breaks the law by using a spell to create a sentient spider plant. She is found guilty and sentenced to live out her life as a statue in the great library. She then mysteriously wakes up on an enchanted island of greenhouses. The greenhouses on the island are failing due to the death of the sorcerer who created them. Yarrow, the Gardner, reached out for help and was sent Terlu. But Terlu is not a sorcerer and while she is happy to be alive again she does not know if she can help.

I had the opportunity to review the audio for this book. The narrator was great and even though it was not duel narration I enjoyed both her female and male character voices. It was an easy listen and had good pacing. I enjoyed the grumpy/sunshine trope between Terlu and Yarrow. I also enjoyed all the other fun magical characters including a sentient rose named Lotti, a cat with wings who can fly and miniature dragons. I mean come on, sign me up! While there is some romance in this book the spice level is very minimal making it a perfect fantasy read for a younger audience as well. Overall I had a great time listening. I understand for the readers of The Spellshop there are some easter eggs hidden throughout the book. I could not appreciate them since I have not read it but I think I just might have to check it out!

Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the opportunity to review the ARC audio for The Enchanted Greenhouse.

Sarah Beth Durst’s sequel in The Enchanted Greenhouse is equally as magical and cute as the Spellshop.
Terlu is the greater of our fave sentient spider plant who was sentenced into being a statue. In this story Terlu comes into herself to be a stronger version of herself.

This cast of plants characters were so fun and Yarrow is a good counterpoint to Terlu.

If you were a fan of The Spellshop then you will for sure enjoy this story. Thank you NetGalley, Sarah Beth Durst and Macmillan Audio for this audio arc for my honest opinion.
