This book was such a cozy surprise. The Enchanted Greenhouse feels like stepping into a quiet, magical space where everything slows down in the best way. It’s not about huge plot twists… it’s about growth, healing, and the quiet magic of connection.
I loved how the greenhouse came to life on the page. You can almost smell the flowers and feel the sun through the glass. The characters all felt real, each on their own path but drawn together. It’s the kind of story that reminds you of the beauty in small things.
If you enjoy books with gentle magic, found family, and a cozy setting, this one’s definitely worth picking up.

thanks netgalley and macmillan audio for the ALC! 👌🏻
after reading and thoroughly enjoying the first book - The Spellshop - I was excited to be back in this cozy, magical world! I actually really love that our FMC is the librarian that created Caz. We hear about her in book one very passively, so I loved that we get to fully meet her 🥹
Grumpy x sunshine, saving the magic, more sentient plant(s)- the set up was perfect! I felt the romance between our MCs could have been a bit more fleshed out, especially towards the beginning, but overall I absolutely adored the characters and the story. And you best believe my face was pure joy anytime a nod to book one characters came up 🤩
the audiobook - absolutely stunning narration 👌🏻 i loved the way she was able to so many different voices for the characters! such range!! 👌🏻👌🏻

“The most precious jewel in all the crescent islands”
I want to live on the island with the enchanted greenhouse’s!! I immersed myself in the land of peace and a little chaos (in a good way).A grumpy gardner and curious librarian= 2 lonely hearts. Terlu and Yarrow a cutesy unexpected love with a dose of unexpected friendship and family!! Let’s not forget the magic of it all a sweet little island with talking plant friends (family).
I want a Ree, a bossy little Lotti (a little rose), Dendy, and ohh a Caz!! Sentient plants
I absolutely loved it!!!
Thank you @NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this opportunity!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5 stars!! (SUCH AN AMAZING READ)
Let me start off by saying that Sarah Beth Durst's writing is so, so magical! I want to escape into the world that she has created! The Enchanted Greenhouse takes place in a magical, whimsical, cozy new island set in the same world as the Spellshop!
For this book, I actually got to listen to the audiobook with an advanced listener copy! 🎧 The narrator, Caitlin Davies has a voice that transports you into the novel in your head while you're listening. I really enjoyed her as a narrator, she was able to capture each character's tone and personality (there are a lot of people and PLANTS 💚 in this story).
Our FMC, Terlu, a sunshine ex-librarian was turned into a statue after illegally creating a sentient spider plant, Caz, who we met in SBD's first book, the Spellshop!
Our MMC, Yarrow, is a grumpy gardener who is taking care of the island and its inhabitants (lots and lots of plants!!).
We get to meet lots of new friends along the way (more sentient plants, including a sentient rose named Lottie 🌹 - she's adorable, and a flying cat named Emeral)!
One of my favorite lines from the book is "You don't let anything dim your light." It was a little tough to capture more moments when listening to this so I know there are more that I will have when I actually read the physical book one day!
I loved, loved, loved all of the little Easter eggs and connections with the Spellshop and I hope that she writes a book with crossovers characters from the Spellshop and the Enchanted Greenhouse! I need a reunion story between Terlu and Caz!!
Sarah Beth Durst might become an auto-buy author for me!
BIG thanks to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, and Sarah Beth Burst for this advanced listener copy!!

I love the world that Sarah Beth Durst created in The Spellshop and continued building in The Enchanted Greenhouse. The characters are wonderful and caring.
I love how Terlu and Yarrow enlist the help of the sentient plants to try and save the greenhouses. The sentient plants are by far my favorite characters in both books, they are innocent and sweet, and they just want to be a part of things.
Looking forward to reading more of Sarah's work in the future.
Caitlin Davies did a great job narrating this story.

This is a cozy fantasy sequel to The Spellshop. The audio was spot on. Again, I loved the characters and the vibe of the book. The plot kept me listening and interested in the story.
To give five stars, I would have wished for a little bit more emotion from this or more attachment to the characters. Other than that, this was amazing.
Recommended to any cozy fantasy readers. This is spot on for the genre and if you read the first one and liked it you will like this one too.
“Return to the cosy and heart-warming world of The Spellshop in The Enchanted Greenhouse by S arah Beth Durst , a world brimming with singing flowers, honey cakes and honeyed love.”
Thank you @macmillan.audio for providing this book for review consideration via @netgalley . All opinions are my own.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the ALC of The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst. All opinions are my own.
Last year I read and enjoyed The Spellshop by this same author. While these two books are set in the same world, they follow different characters in different settings. Some characters from The Spellshop are mentioned in this book, but it’s brief. You can read these books out of order and still enjoy them.
The Enchanted Greenhouse is a cozy fantasy with a relaxing and sweet tone. The characters are wholesome, the romance is sweet, and the found family is so precious. I had an overall lovely time reading this book.
If you’re a plant lover, I think you’ll love this story. There are sentient plants with fun personalities. There’s a gardener as one of the main characters, and the protagonist is working along side him to save the plants and their greenhouses.
The romance was so sweet and vulnerable. I loved how the characters became friends and were shy about sharing their feelings with each other. They really looked out for one another, and I appreciated how kind both of them were.
This is the type of story that is feel good and lighthearted while also discussing harder topics such as loneliness and giving second chances to people who’ve hurt you. Overall, I thought this book was great and would recommend it!
Also, I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did an excellent job with distinguishing the different characters’ voices. I would recommend this format.

“And winter was the perfect time for dreaming.”
I have this thing where I like to read books that are set in the opposite season of the current season. Weird, I know. I think it comes from needing relief from the hot Georgia summers.
So I was pleasantly surprised that The Enchanted Greenhouse, a companion novel to one of my favorite 2024 books - The Spellshop, is set entirely in winter.
I found the timing of publication a little strange since it’s straight up summer but it certainly fits into my need for some cold weather vibes.
The winter setting really helps enhance the cozy atmosphere that this series is known for and I really enjoyed this book that concludes on the Winter Solstice.
So, if you’ve read The Spellshop, you know that Caz, the sentient spider plant, was created through an illegal use of magic by Terlu Perna in a desperate need to create a companion to help ease her loneliness. This act results in her being statuefied and placed for all to see as an example in the North Tower of the Library of Allysium.
We begin The Enchanted Greenhouse with Terla being mysteriously destatuefied on a frozen island that is decidedly not Allysium. She makes her way barely clothed into an enormous greenhouse full of many different greenhouses until she finally encounters a lone grumpy gardener, who upon finding out that she is not the sorcerer that he sent for, wants nothing to do with her.
He offers her basic hospitality in his cabin (the only inhabitable cabin) until she’s ready to leave the island.
But this is a story of a lonely librarian finally finding her place in the world and that includes a very slow burn romance with the grumpy, very handsome gardener.
Along the way, Terla discovers how to utilize the late sorcerer’s (the creator of the magical greenhouses) notes to stop the wayward spell that is one-by-one destroying the greenhouses. Greenhouses that include many sentient plants that Terla brings out of hibernation.
Some of my favorite moments include She Falls First (like immediately), Only One (functional) Cabin, Hurt/Comfort, Grumpy/Sunshine, Hot Honey Cakes and many delicious foods made by handsome gardener, tiny helpful dragons, swimming with sea turtles, and learning to trust others and yourself.
I felt a deep kinship with Terla who is a bit frumpy and sensitive. I, too, suffer from being a bit frumpy, too sensitive, too expressive with my emotions, and wanting people to like me. There’s one particular part that just struck home with me when she is explaining to her grumpy gardener that it’s her fault that her feelings are always hurt because she’s just too sensitive. His response was definitely a eye-opener for me and I just felt like Sarah Beth, in that moment, was reaching out to me as a reader and saying, “it’s okay if you’re a too sensitive people pleaser, you’re allowed to feel hurt and pain when the world lets you down.”
And, for that, I will be forever grateful for these books that she has written. These cozy little romances with their Found Family and Found Selves and their Happily Ever Afters.
My only complaints were that I felt the story to be a little sluggish in the early portion of the book and there was one reunion that didn’t happen that I was looking forward to but the promise of that reunion was there and that’s enough for me.
As usual, Caitlin Davies just kills it as the narrator of the audiobook and I wholeheartedly recommend it to the audiophiles and wholeheartedly thank Macmillan Audio for my early listening copy. All opinions are my own. #macaudio25
So, whether you read it or listen to it, don’t miss this beautiful story of a lonely girl finally finding love and purpose on a small island filled with enchanted greenhouses, sentient plants, a winged cat, and a very special gardener.
4.5🌟-0🌶️-5🎧

Sarah Beth Durst did it again! I loved this cozy fantasy, full of whimsy, lovable characters, and mystery. The cover is stunning! The narrator did an amazing job as well.
Thank you for the opportunity to listen to this beautiful story.

I usually find that the 2nd books in series are as good as the first. I liked this book better than the first. Having so many characters with such personality kept me engaged while I listened. The book and the right amount of romance. I felt connected with both main characters and the side characters. The story line was good and easy to follow. I would recommend this book to others.

Thank you SO much for this ARC read. (audio style)
From the narrator to the characters I have loved every minute of it. Magic, cats, flowers, plants, & Yarrow <3
Sarah Durst is such a great cozy writer and this just continues her legacy. So cozy & feel good in certain ways. All while having this great tension.
I'd def read #2 if it happens & continue to suggest this one!

I was hyped up for this next novel set in the world of The Spellshop. I was not disappointed. I fell in love with Terlu. She was whimsical and so sweet. I loved her mission. I found a new favorite couple in Terlu and Yarrow. Narrow was so grumpy I loved him immediately. The story was cozy and just the right touch of whimsy. It would be a great fall or early spring read. Or any time you want a slow comforting read.
The narrator wasn't my favorite but it was well read.

Teralu has spent the last six years as a wooden statue—a stark reminder of the Empire’s harsh justice. When she’s unexpectedly awakened by Yarrow, the solitary gardener of a collection of magical greenhouses, she discovers that the enchantments sustaining the gardens are failing—and only a skilled sorcerer can restore them.
With the help of a winged cat named Emerald and a host of sentient plants, Teralu and Yarrow must work together to save the greenhouses, even if doing so comes at the cost of Teralu’s newfound freedom.
Set in the whimsical world of The Spellshop, The Enchanted Greenhouse is a charming and imaginative fantasy brimming with heart, subtle romance, and deeper themes of redemption and hope. This is pure serotonin in book form.

Delightful! This audiobook fit the bill of a cozy fantasy for the plant loving person. The enchanted greenhouse provided a serene setting for the magical talking plants. The problem on the island was unique. I enjoyed seeing the characters deal with the ethics of using magic to help even though the consequences can be harsh. The romance was sweet and simple. I would have liked to see more sweet moments between the main characters that didn’t revolve around saving the greenhouses, but they were still very cute. I enjoyed the way the narrator brought the plants to life which added to the magic of the story.
Thank you NetGalley for this advanced audio to review for my honest opinion.

As someone who loves fantasy and has definitely killed more plants than I’d like to admit, I found this to be an excellent book. The magical world-building is strong, and the narration is well done.
The storyline can feel a bit jarring at first—you’re definitely thrown right in—but once the plot unfolds, it becomes engaging. There are a few frustrating moments where the 'don’t tell them' trope is used for suspense, which feels unnecessary and drags the story a bit, but we get there in the end.
The love story between the two main characters is cute, sweet, and wholesome—so don’t expect any spice here. The emotional and psychological depth of the characters is well written and thoughtfully explored.
There are parts of the book that lean left politically, which I personally appreciated. However, readers with more conservative views may find some ideological elements challenging.
All that said, this is an excellent read! The characters are fully fleshed out—leaves and all. Highly recommend!

This book was an absolutely delightful cozy fantasy. After reading "The Spellshop" I was so excited to be able to learn more about Terlu. I thought that story was incredibly well written and the plot moved at a wonderful pace. I was fully invested in the characters and their cause. Loved it.

This was okay… the FMC sometimes came off a bit too Disney-princess-like for my taste, airy and constantly rambling. The audiobook narration adds charm, but the flood of side characters and slow start made it hard to stay engaged. This one is for fans of gentle cozy cute little fantasys and plantcore vibes.

This was even better than the first. I just love this cozy universe Durst has created for us. It's delightful, the characters are relatable, the plants were so fun and the magic is so interesting to me. I really loved every aspect of this. No notes. Just give me more.

Before I begin; I would like to thank NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the advance listening copy. All opinions are my own for this honest review.
Style: Single POV, Solo Narration.
Length: 7 hrs
Starting off strong; let's talk about Caitlin Davies. Quite simply, in my opinion, she is the perfect narrator for this world. In a world where everyone seems to want dual/multiple povs and Duet everything, Caitlin does such an incredible job at juggling a large cast of voices, including wonderfully convincing male tones, with ease and warmth. I actually love her lower register, which adds such nuance, especially in moments where emotional restraint gives way to vulnerability. I personally never miss a male narrator when Caitlin is involved.
What never fails to impress me is her ability to convey solitude and yearning without overdramatizing everything. I think he style of narration perfectly matches Sarah Beth Durst’s storytelling beautifully. It's a very steady pulse of sincerity, magic, and hope.
Also of note; the intro and outro music! It's one of those such a small touches, but it's easily one of my favourite aspects in audios, it totally just sets the mood for everything you're about to experience. It instantly transports you into this quirky universe, and I felt completely immersed into the world from the second I pressed play.
Now to the story itself! I went in blind without reading any of the blurb or anything. I did not want to know whether this would be a sequel, or a prequel, or something in-between, it absolutely didn’t matter to me and I really just wanted to be surprised with the story Sarah was going to tell. I think the story she chose to tell was wonderful one and I love that it's really opened the world up into more stories. It's the same warm, fantastical, and deeply creative story that The Spellshop was and it doesn't even miss a beat. Sometimes, for me, second stories in a series have a difficult time living up to the first (especially when it's something as specially as the Spellshop was), but I don't think it even is in competition. There are delicious little Easter eggs, in the same universe, Enchanted Greenhouse just happened to example it. It’s another love letter to quiet bravery, second chances, and magical companionship. Sarah's creativity never ceases to amaze me and it really just continued. From Emeril the flying cat (on the cover, which is one of the reasons I was so excited to read it!), to the charming tiny dragons. The vibes and the visual aesthetics were absolutely peak in my mind!
I did love getting to hear more about Teralu, and seeing her get her own book was really such a treat. I was very concerned about her, but I think this was the absolutely perfect story to tell. Her relationship with Yarrow is subtle for me personally (I did need to remind myself to temper my expectations, this is a cozy fantasy and NOT a romantasy), so while I would’ve loved a smidge more development in their romantic arc, the development of their relationship felt organic and intentional. They honestly just felt more like puzzle pieces in each others lives, like the missing piece had finally been found.
With regards to themes, rebuilding trust, learning to let go of control, and allowing oneself to feel joy again after hurt and betrayal was all beautiful done and explored in a gentle, subtle way. Nothing about this world or these themes felt too in your face or overstated.
I did sit with this quote for some time after I finished the book. “Words matter. The right words could heal shattered glass. And hearts. And lives." It came at the right time in the book, and Caitlin delivered it just so beautifully.
I'm so grateful I got an advanced opportunity to ready this book, but I'm definitely looking forward to doing an immersive re-listen/reread during winter. It’s not a "holiday book", but I do think the winter setting and low-stress tone make it a perfect fireside read as the snow falls outside. It lends itself to a great New Years, new possibilities, new hope type of vibes.
As mentioned in the beginning, I received an ALC of this audiobook from NetGalley and Macmillan Audio in exchange for an honest review. Having said that, all thoughts are my own.

This is an enchanting story featuring a cat with wings, mini dragons, talking plants and a little bit of magic.
Terlu Perna lives in a world with a lot of rules. One of them results in Terlu becoming a statue. She returns to herself in cold and snow. Terlu is on an island with greenhouses.
The reader learns about the setting as Terlu does. Yarrow is the gardener here. There are wonders of plants.
Terlu is a sweet character. She has many hang ups and insecurities. The pacing of the story is defined by Terlu’s growth in coming to understand herself and becoming a more confident person.
Yarrow is slow to accept Terlu’s presence as he has been alone for years. He is talented at gardening and cooking but needs time to open his mind to new possibilities.
By the end the future looks bright for Terlu and Yarrow. It’s a sweet story. The narrator does a good job with the audiobook.
Thanks to Netgalley and MacMillan Audio for the opportunity to read this book.
