Another wonderful cozy fantasy that just brings you absolute joy. This book is the ultimate cuddle up with a blanket and a cup of coffee kind of read. It’s sweet with hilarious moments and also ones that kind of make your heart hurt. It’s just an absolute delightful read. I had a chance to listen to the audiobook and the narrator is splendid. The voices they gave to all the characters including the plants worked so well and kept me wanting to listen to more.

This was a delightful, heartwarming fantasy story in the same world as The Spellshop. I would strongly recommend this to anyone that enjoyed the previous novel. In this story, we have an extroverted female character who was punished for magically creating a friend in the sentient spider plant, Kaz. Terlu Perna is an engaging main character seeking her own sense of belonging and community. She works together with Yarrow, the grumpy gardener of these enchanted greenhouses to save the plants. Their relationship develops very sweetly as they support each other in tackling their individual struggles. Overall, this story gave me the smiles and happiness that I wanted. The audiobook is very well done, and I enjoyed listening to this story brought to life.

Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for providing and eALC in return for my honest thoughts.

What an amazing story! It was so nice to be back in this world! A brand new set of characters brought this world back to life. The narrator of the audio book was fantastic! I found myself giggling out loud. If you enjoyed The Spell Shop you HAVE to give The Enchanted GreenHouse a read or listen! You will not be disappointed! One of the best books ive listened to all year! If you love cozy fantasy, found family, a super sweet slow burn romance this story is for you!

In The Enchanted Greenhouse, Sarah Beth Durst presents a cozy fantasy that serves as a follow-up to The Spellshop. While it connects to the previous book, it can easily be read as a standalone.

The story follows Terlu (who has been punished for creating a magical spider plant) after she wakes up years later on a remote island filled with enchanted greenhouses. She then meets a grumpy gardener named Yarrow. As the magic of the island begins to fail, Terlu needs uncover ancient spells to save it while also embracing a second chance at love and belonging.

I enjoyed The Spellshop more than I expected. I had high hopes for The Enchanted Greenhouse, but it just fell a little flat. The story felt too long and a bit too wordy. Although it reflected Terlu's inner monologue, it still felt excessive at times. I loved the greenhouses and the various personalities of the plants, but I missed Caz!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this ARC!

What can you say when the sequel is even better than the first book!?! And the first book was excellent! I didn’t think I could love a cozy fantasy more than The Spellshop but, The Enchanted Greenhouse completely stole my heart.

Following Terlu and Yarrows story was so lovely, they are the perfect balance for each other- providing support and love in ways so desperately needed.

Visiting this new island and meeting all the magical creatures was delightful. I didn’t think anyone could beat Caz and Meep as my top favorite talking plants but Lotti and Dendi are right up there!

There was a smile on my face the whole time I was reading. I hope there are more stories to come from this cozy fantasy world in the future.

Thank you NetGalley and MacMillian Audio for access to the audiobook early in exchange for an honest review.

If you enjoy cozy stories set in fantasy worlds, The Enchanted Greenhouse is for you! While it features the same female main character from The Spellshop and takes place in the same world, there is not much storyline that directly connects the two, so you can definitely read this as a standalone. This was a cute, cozy, low or no stakes story. If you’re in the mood for something that feels like a warm hug in book form, pick this one up!

Thank you to NetGalley & Macmillan Audio for the advanced audiobook of this book, all thoughts are my own.
For cozy fantasy, this book checks all the boxes. Not too fast, not too slow, not too boring. There was a happy medium of plot going on and the world building is phenomenal. Caitlin Davies is an incredible narrator and added depth to the story. I love a good, happy ending.

The way I love this story!

As soon as I saw that The Spellshop was getting a sequel, I KNEW I needed to read it immediately. And then to be lucky enough to get an ALC? Shut the front door!

I loved hearing all about Terlu's story. She's mentioned in The Spellshop so many times thanks to Caz (I mean come on, there wouldn't even be a Caz without her!) that I was dying to hear and learned all about her. She's such a fun, bubbly personality and the perfect counter to Yarrow. When she found Lotti the sentient rose, I squealed. I loved hearing about the three of working together to save the greenhouses. And the fact that the winged cats got more of a feature in this one made my day!

Caitlin Davies did a great job of bringing the story to life from the human characters to the plants - and even Emerald the winged cat.

Thank you so so much to Sarah Beth Durst, Macmillian Audio, and NetGalley for the amazing opportunity to receive the ALC of one of my most anticipated reads of the year!

Ahoy there mateys! This is the second book in the Spellshop series.  This is the story of Terlu, the librarian who was turned into a statue for creating a sentient spider plant.  She wakes up on a remote island where the only other company is a grumpy gardener, Yarrow, and his cat.  The island is full of hundreds of enchanted greenhouses.

While I enjoyed the first book as a standalone, the greenhouses were the hook that led me to picking up this one.  I do love many of the greenhouses and wish I could visit them.  There is the maze protected by mini dragons.  There is a rose garden where I would smell every single one.  But many of them were barely mentioned or blurred together.  Did there really need to be hundreds of them?

A lot of this book felt like a repeat of book one with even lower stakes.  The pacing was very slow and I was sometimes bored.  This book has a second chance story and a love story.  Those aspects were really not to my taste.  They were cozy enough but I wasn't really engaged in the characters.  Part of this is because Terlu was kinda whiny and seemingly not all that bright despite her librarian background.  She really should have picked up on a lot more clues.  Her thoughts were very repetitive.  Yarrow's grumpiness was also annoying because he felt uncompassionate even though he did do nice things for Terlu.  He also didn't have much depth. Plus, I didn't like how mean he was to his dad and the reasons for it.  Plants were not more important than his sister.

I also kinda hated Lottie the rosebush.  She was annoying and not endearing like Caz.  Actually most of the sentient plants irked me.  I do think some of the problems were the choices of the audiobook production company.  I just didn't like the portrayal of Terlu or Lottie by narrator Caitlin Davies even though she did a fine job with book one.  Her voice was too high pitched in this one.  Terlu and Lottie sounded so immature through a lot of the novel.

I did love the winged cat and wished he appeared in the story way more.  Maybe most cozies are just not for me.  Arrr!

From the enchanting music at the beginning and end of this listen, which always makes me giddy, completely set the tone for the cozy romance. I’m fully obsessed with Sarah Beth Durst; her books are so magically written. The way she explains something so simple makes you feel like you’re in a fairy tale. This book will give you all the warm and cozy feels. I had the privilege of listening to Caitlin Davies narrate this book, and boy, was it just perfection. I would fully recommend this listen as Caitlin was the embodiment of Terlu; I don’t think anyone else could’ve done a better job. The enchanted greenhouse was hilariously charming, and I will now read anything Sarah writes.

Terlu, our FMC, was pushed to such high levels of LONELINESS and desperation for companionship that she risked breaking the law and casting a SPELL to turn a plant 🌱 sentient. Cas and her had become the closest of friends until one day they were caught and turned in. Cas 🌱 was taken away and Terlu was placed on TRIAL for breaking magic law.

As punishment, Turlu was turned into a wooden statue and placed within the library that she worked, used as a constant reminder to others of the risks of breaking magic law.

Years later, she wakes up on an island in the middle of nowhere confused, hungry & freezing. She staggers around until she comes across a greenhouse, radiating warmth. Within the greenhouse is really where the BEGINNING OF THIS STORY becomes magical✨ Inside the greenhouse Terlu meets a handsome, grumpy gardener. He offers her shelter, clothes, and even cooks for her, but he is in need of help with the magic found on the island.

The island’s magic is disappearing and all the magical creatures are dying alongside the magic.
Among these creatures are MANY sentient plants like her beloved Cas.

Terlu, the gardener, his flying cat, and ALL the sentient plants begin to work together and uncover secrets and solutions to fix the disappearing magic before it’s gone and her friends with it.

As expected, this cozy, magical read, gives the reader, the feelings of warmth and friendship and what can be overcome, combining the two.

Mix that together along with moments of comic relief and vivid descriptions of the magic, the beautiful island, and its inhabitants and that is why I gave this story 4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 The narrator was amazing in her ability to really elevate the story and the characters while thoroughly immersing you in this enchanting world.

🫶🏼Thank you to the Author, NetGalley, & MacMillan Audio for the ALC 🎧of this book in exchange for my honest review. 💕

I love this series so much! I recommend The Spellshop to everyone, and will continue to do do with this book as well! It was so fun to get a back story to Kaz's creator, and all of the fun plants and creatures we're introduced to!

The Enchanted Greenhouse by New York Times bestselling author Sarah Beth Durst is not a sequel, but another standalone novel set in the same delightful world of The Spellshop. With books filled with things that made the author happy, it's no wonder this world has heart-warming charm, delicious delights, and characters abounding with curiosity and wonder.

Terlu is a gregarious librarian looking for a friend. Her days in the library were lonely, so she used a spell to create a sentient spider plant as a companion. Unfortunately, her use of magic was a punishable offense, and she was turned into a wooden statue as a warning to others. She is brought back to her human shape by a grumpy gardener on a deserted island of failing magical greenhouses. The magic of the greenhouses was failing, and he'd hoped she was the solution. Together with a sentient rose and a flying cat, Terlu is determined to help - even if it means breaking the law again.

The Enchanted Greenhouse is just as sweet and lovely as The Spellshop, with the same talented narrator bringing the main character to life. Caitlin Davies manages the tone and cadence of beloved children's books, giving Terlu a voice filled with delight. The audiobook is almost too sugary-sweet, but seems to match the author's vision. It's a lighthearted, cozy read with a touch of romance and a dollop of hope.

This is a placeholder -
I genuinely tried to listen to the audiobook because I loved book 1 but I struggle when I can hear the narrator take in a breath every other sentence ;_; I will happily pick up the book when it comes out because I love this world.

I was very excited to get this audiobook. It's took a while for me to actually get into the story. I didn't find myself very excited for anything in this book, except for it to end. It wasn't bad, just boring. It reads like young YA

Another wonderful cozy fantasy!

After being pushed to the brink of loneliness, librarian Terlu illegally casts a spell to make a plant come to life. For her crime of sorcery, she is turned into a statue for the foreseeable future. But one day, she wakes up no longer in stasis, instead on a wintery island populated by magical greenhouses - and one very grumpy gardener. While magic is still illegal, Terlu puts aside her fears to help the gardener Yarrow as the enchanted greenhouses start to fail across the island.

This has perfect cozy vibes. Very descriptive, relatively low stakes, and lots of homey feelings like warm food and found family. Like The Spellshop, Durst creates a vivid and creative world on the island of greenhouses, as well as likeable and relatable fantasy characters in Terlu, Yarrow, and even a talking rose. I loved watching Terlu come into her own after the trauma of being turned into a statue: getting to the know Yarrow, the plants, researching magic, and finding a family of her own. The narrator Caitlin Davies does a wonderful job bringing every character to life with a unique voice, and an even pace that just oozes comfort.

This is the perfect novel to read casually when you feel like you need a hug. Everything about the writing creates such a comforting tone, this is what the term Cozy Fantasy was made for.

The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sara Beth Durst

Sometimes, all we need is an escape into a cozy and green sanctuary. The writing felt vivid and whimsical. As a plant lover and a gardener, I adored how the writing wrapped me in this verdant world.

Was this plot heavy? NO and I love that the plot was light. But, it also felt like experiencing a cozy video game in literary form. This is the perfect read /audiobook for quiet afternoons surrounded by your beloved houseplants.

Did I wish my plants were sentient after finishing The Enchanted Greenhouse? ABSOLUTELY YES.

Overall, I enjoyed it and would recommend it for those looking for something cozy and whimsical.

I was so looking forward to reading The Enchanted Greenhouse after absolutely LOVING The Spellshop, unfortunately this book wasn’t as good as I hoped it would be. The audiobook narrator, Caitlin Davies, is lovely and I loved that she narrated both book 1 and now 2.
The Enchanted Greenhouse is a super cozy fantasy with love and friendship and adorable talking plants, which is my absolute favorite thing about this book. I unfortunately found the main character, a librarian named Terlu, to be quite annoying. She gives off major “Look at me, I’m so quirky” energy which constantly made me roll my eyes and stop to audiobook for a while. She finds romance, which was super cute, but still even with that and the adorable talking plants I have to give this book a 3.5 ⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for my unbiased review.

3.5⭐
The Enchanted Greenhouse is set in the same cozy world as The Spellshop, but follows a new cast of characters. I loved that it shares the same warm, comforting vibes and even ties back to The Spellshop in subtle ways. It made the story feel familiar in the best way. The narrators also did a great job bringing the characters to life.

That said, the beginning felt a bit slow for me and it took a while to really get into the story. But once it clicked, I found myself fully immersed and didn’t want to stop listening!

If you enjoyed The Spellshop and are looking for something with a similar tone and setting, I’d definitely recommend checking this one out.

Big thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ALC!

In The Enchanted Greenhouse, former librarian and statue Terlu Perna awakens on a wintry, remote island filled with failing magical greenhouses. With only a grumpy gardener and sentient plants for company, she must uncover the greenhouses’ secrets and decide if she’ll risk everything to save them.

I listened to the audiobook, and the narration was amazing, it made Terlu’s wonder and determination truly shine. As the second book to The Spellshop universe it kept that cozy, whimsical feel, with cottagecore charm and low-stakes magic that feels comforting rather than intense.

That said, while I enjoyed the overall vibe, the story left me feeling a bit… meh. It ticked all the right boxes—heartwarming found-family moments, gentle romance, and plenty of honey cake and delightful plants but it didn’t quite captivate me on a deeper level. The lush descriptions of greenhouses and talking flowers were enchanting, but overall it felt pleasant rather than memorable.

If you loved the first book and crave more cozy fantasy with magical greenery and soft romance, this is definitely for you

Thanks to Netgalley and MacMillan Audio for this ALC that I chose to read and review
