Thank you #macaudio, Sarah Beth Durst and NetGalley for this ALC. First of all… if you loved The Spellshop, there’s no way you won’t love this perfectly cozy follow-up. Loaded with sentient plants, political intrigue, found family, reunions, and of course love and magic, this book 2 was wonderful. The narration was so well done and I felt immediately connected to the characters, being fully drawn in by the voiceover. I cannot wait to get a physical copy! 4.75⭐️

This was such a cozy read. I had already read the first book in the series and I absolutely loved it. I knew that this one was going to be a similar vibe and just had to read it. I really enjoyed it. I love that it's also it's own story but does still relate back to the first book. This one also hits the sunshine/grumpy trope and i love it.

This book was phenomenal! It was adorable and heartwarming. I literally cried at the wonderful ending. It gave me hope for the world.

FMC is the lonely librarian who made Cas (sentient spider plant from the first book). She is turned into a statue as punishment. After a while she wakes up on an island with a giant enchanted greenhouse and only 1 grumpy gardener who thought she would be a sorcerer to help him.

Cas isn't the only sentient plant in this world now!!

I really hope we get more to books in this series. I have loved them both dearly.

The Enchanted Greenhouse is set in the same world as The Spellshop - we meet Terlu Perna, a former librarian and wooden statue, who has been delivered to an island where dozens of greenhouses are set up, and one lonely gardener, Yarrow, is responsible for their care. At first, Terlu doesn't understand why she's been sent, but she finds the magic powering the greenhouses is fading, leaving the plants to die, and she knows she needs to do her best to help save the island.

If you enjoyed The Spellshop, you'll also enjoy The Enchanted Greenhouse - there are definitely similar story beats, but you definitely do not need to have read The Spellshop to understand the world of The Enchanted Greenhouse. You get a bit of a grumpy/sunshine romance, some adorable sidekicks including a talking rose, and a reckoning with the world at large. I listened to this as an audiobook and felt that Caitlin Davies did a great job bringing Terlu to life.

Thanks very much to NetGalley and to Macmillan Audio for the advanced copy.

I honestly knew this was going to deliver after meeting Sarah in May. I knew this was going to give me the same incredibly cozy vibe that The Spellshop gave me. If the Spellshop felt like a warm cup of coffee on a spring day, then this felt like a hot bowl of soup in the winter. I fell in love with this from the very beginning and cried far too many happy tears towards the end. This blew me away. The narrator also did a fantastic job making the story come alive. I loved it. No notes.

I really liked book 1, so I was looking forward to reading this. However, I was disappointed with how slow the first half of the book was. At least it picked up in the end but then it felt rushed--so much happened in the last few chapters. I felt like the first half of the book could have been condensed and more time spent on the last half to stretch it out and give more details or backstory to the other characters. Overall, a cozy listen with a good narrator.

This was a really lovely book about finding peace, finding your place in the world, and saving what is important to you. I loved every minute.

A delightfully cozy fantasy romance!

If you liked The Spellshop I don’t see how you wouldn’t like this, the romance is stronger IMO and there are even more talking plants! But if you wanted to read this without reading The Spellshop you could, they have some crossover of course but I would call this more a companion than a sequel.

I really liked the greenhouse itself, it was not only a very interesting setting, but the plot of trying to figure out why some of the rooms were dying was intriguing.

The audio narrator’s voice for Terlu sounded like Amy Adams in Enchanted, to the point where I took breaks to listen to the soundtrack 🤣.

As always with single POV romances I do wish we had gotten the love interests POV, but even without it I still really enjoyed every aspect of this book.

Omg, this is exactly what I needed.

Sarah Beth Durst does cozy like no other. This is a story of found family, magic, and adorable sentient plants. I loved this even more than The Spellshop and thought the two books are perfect companions. Each one tells it’s own story but there are definite connections and threads of stories that tie them together beautifully!

The romance in this is also so sweet, Terlu and Yarrow are absolutely adorable and I love that they supported each other so thoroughly the whole time. Love to see it!

An absolutely delightful adventure to remind us that words matter and everyone deserves a second chance.

If you’ve read The Spellshop, then you already know this book is going to leave you with the warm and fuzzies. And if you haven’t, let me introduce you to the cozy, magical world Sarah Beth Durst is building.

It’s rare to find a story where the characters are genuinely likable, where kindness and empathy are their superpowers, and where love isn’t just about chemistry, but about connection. In a book world dominated by stalkers and morally gray Mafia men, Durst somehow made this dark romance girly fall head over heels for a green-flag-waving, green-thumb-having plant daddy. I couldn’t be happier about it.

The FMC, Terlu, is sweet, strong, and completely endearing, never once losing her sense of self.

This world feels like it’s just getting started, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next

What I wouldn't give to be able to go into this world and see the greenhouses.

I fell in love with this world last year when I read The Spellshop and I adored this book even more. Sarah Beth Durst does an incredible job making her books feel magical and her characters charming. We first hear about Terlu in the first book and I loved following her this time around. Her story was whimsical and heartwarming to listen to. It was wonderful seeing her get her second chance. Her relationship with Yarrow was so adorable and sweet and I loved the sentient plants in the greenhouse. They might be the best part, though I did really enjoy the romance and hearing about all of the greenhouses. There is just so much to enjoy about this book.

Caitlin Davies's narration was as great here as it was for The Spellshop. Her voice fits Terlu's character perfectly, along with embodying all of the other voices of the characters. I highly recommend listening to this book.

I'm hoping Sarah will return to this world again. I'd read anything she writes in this world and am definitely planning on picking up more of her books. Her writing style is perfect for cozy fantasy.

What a splendid story. Once again, I felt like I was reading the feeling you get from watching your favorite Disney movie. I love that the happiness isn't just extended to the main characters, that there are a slew of people, and the effects become beneficial to everyone. Just because the door closed for the goal for our main characters didn't mean the work was done.

This book follows Terlu. Terlu was turned into a wooden statue for casting a spell and creating a sentient spider plant. Only sorcerers are allowed to do such things like casting spells and Terlu is only a librarian. Well, she's an ex-librarian now, as she's a wooden statue.

Some time passes and Terlu finds herself freed from her statue form and wanders into a magical greenhouse where she stumbles upon a gardener, who seems disappointed that she isn't a sorcerer as he was told. The gardener needs a sorcerer to help fix the magic that sustains the greenhouse, and Terlu, despite the very lingering threat of the law finding out, is willing to help. He, after all, saved her from the lonely life of being a statue.

“She refused to cry when she hadn’t done anything wrong. Very illegal, yes, but not wrong.”

Much like The Spellshop, this is a cozy fantasy with just a dash of romance. I love the greenhouse and all the wonders it holds. I think my favorite rooms were the maze, the singing flowers, and the star flowers. The romance is a sweet slow burn. Terlu is a lonely former librarian desperate for a sense of community and a purpose. Yarrow is more comfortable around plants than people. Speaking of plants, the answer is yes. Yes, there is a sentient plant or two and they have just as much personality as Caz from The Spellshop. Overall, I enjoyed this charming novel about magic plants, falling in love, and finding your place in the world.

The audiobook is narrated by Caitlin Davies. She did a great job giving voice to Terlu and her adventures.

Note: This is book is set in the same world and time as The Spellshop, but can easily be read as a standalone. There is very little overlap between the stories.

Romance Steam Rating: Warm Cocoa [1 out of 5] (Kisses Only)
**Technically fade to black, but it’s very subtle.

The Enchanted Greenhouse has all the whimsy, heart, and hope you'd imagine in the sequel to The Spellshop. From the Grumpy/Sunshine trope to the open heart of second chances, this story takes you on a journey of acceptance, patience, and the epitome of "cozy".

Following the story of Terlu, Kaz's creator, this story takes place in the same universe. Finding herself far from where she was sentenced, Terlu meets the wonder of the deserted island, mystical greenhouses, wondrous magical creatures, and a gardener with an amazing cooking ability (and some slow burn romance sprinkled in).

Sarah Beth Durst's book creates a fantastic world that both fills your heart and invokes curiosity with wonder. The Enchanted Greenhouse is a wonderfully written story and hopefully continues to broaden an already "enchanting" world.

I was able to enjoy the audiobook, narrated by Caitlin Davies. Davies has a smoothing tone with a wide range for character voices. She added both charm and distinction in the way she narrated.

Thank you Netgalley and Macmillian Audio for the opportunity to review this novel.

This was a fun, sweeping read! What a clever concept - enchanted green houses! Loved the descriptions of the foliage and all the chatter around food! Add tiny dragons and lots of talking plants and you’ve got a whimsical light-hearted read.

If you’ve never read cozy fantasy before this would be a great introduction. To enjoy this book you don’t have to have read the first book in the series. Big thanks to NetGalley for an early copy.

This audiobook just had me smile the whole time I was listening.

What a perfect cozy fantasy story. I loved The Spellshop but The enchanted Greenhouse is even better. I loved the characters, the story, and all the plants. Especially the plants. The narrator made everything even better, she is fantastic. I highly recommend this book on audio.

I enjoyed this second book set in the same world as The Spellshop. Though the cast of characters was quite a bit smaller, it later expanded, and gave me plenty of names to enjoy. That being said, the book felt pretty formulaic and seemed to follow a similar plot line to the first. I also tired — VERY QUICKLY — of the main character being so genuinely afraid of being punished (much like the MC in The Spellshop) but then going ahead and doing magic anyways. I understand low-stakes conflict, but it would have helped to just move on after a while. And would have been nice to have the conflict be even SLIGHTLY different from the first book.

All in all, I enjoyed the writing but the storytelling made me feel like I trudged through this novel, which I truly was looking forward to at the outset! Here’s hoping for something different with the next one.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an e-copy of the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley, publishers and Sarah Beth Durst for allowing me to listen to this beautiful story as an AUDIO ARC. I very much enjoyed this narrator and felt they did an amazing job depicting the various characters! This is a cozy-cottage, slow burn, romance journey about second chances. Terlu was such a delightful MFC and I absolutely fell in love with her. I loved her curiosity and her scholastic background. I loved everything about this story from the plants, to the backgrounds of both MFC and MMC, to the description of the magical plants. The romance in this book is sweet and very mild. Like 0.5 spice. There are references to the first book, however you can absolutely read this as a stand alone. Overall, what I wouldn’t give to live on this island! All opinions of this review are my own.
