Since Terlu was first mentioned in The Spellshop, as creator of Caz and then punished by being turned into a statue, I had hoped she would get a story and happy ending and this is it! It has all the coziness and magic that one needs to feel warm and happy, exploring the enchanted greenhouses (and saving them!) with Lottie the sentient rose (and then all the other plants), and Yarrow, an introverted gardener with a penchant for cooking the most wonderful dishes (the sounded so yummy that it made me want to eat them too!) and as a balance for the very extroverted Terlu (though I mean, who could blame her after being a statue for so long?). And of course you get winged cats, tiny dragons, a moving maze, and singing flowers amid the search to bring the dead parts of the greenhouses back to life after the old crotchety wizard who used to take care of it all died (and he definitely was batty by the end with all his mistrustfulness!) Terlu has low self esteem and anxiety and it is mentioned a lot in this book as she worries about being punished again for using magic (her punishment was awful and definitely much worse than the crime! The empire has a lot to answer for in this!) but don't worry, it all turns out alright and there are good messages about doing what is right rather than always following the law and how important family is.
This story would be fun to read and also is incredibly well done in the audiobook version too! I enjoy the narrator, Caitlin Davies and have listened to other books read by her. She brings all the characters to life and the island where they are all living and I loved every minute I listened to this book. I definitely will be listening to it again! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to listen to this great audiobook!

4.25 stars.
This was so good! I loved the narrator. Caitlin Davies was perfect for this.
I love the world she’s created. This is another cozy, low stakes fantasy with more talking plants! I mean, what more could I ask for?
I will admit I didn’t like this as much as I loved The Spellshop, however the reasons are petty. I liked the romance between Terlu and Yarrow but it felt really instalovey and it felt really unnatural in the beginning. By the end I was happy for them, it just took me a while to get there. Also, there was absolutely no reason for the word “honey cakes” to be used as many times as it was. It probably wasn’t even a large amount it just really felt that way.
Thank you Macmillan Audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review!

If you enjoyed the cozy fantasy vibe of Durst's "The Spellshop" you're gonna love this one even more. There's more romance, more lonely souls finding family, and more magical talking plants! I listened to the audiobook again - the narration and voice acting were perfect. The one downside is I have no idea how to spell these characters names - so bear with me.
Teralu Perna (the librarian who was turned into a statue for daring to use magic to create the sentient plant sidekick Kaz in The Spellshop), finds herself reanimated on a secluded island with an amazing but slowly crumbling enchanted greenhouse and one grumpy gardener. Together they work to save the greenhouses, reawaken the magic inside them and heal each other's fears of abandonment. There are dragon insects, sentient plants, a flying cat and a sorcerer's ghost. Plus, a lot of cozy cottage kisses! You'll love this low-key sweet fantasy adventure!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this audiobook.
Wonderful cozy fantasy, great narration.

I needed a cozy hug of a book so much!!
It is rare that I find a novel that takes all the wonder that fantasy should present and keeps it captivating. If you read Durst's previous novel The Spellshop this one takes place in the same world but can be read as a standalone. I've read them both now and I liked The Enchanted Greenhouse more. Although they are both great reads. When I read The Spellshop I wished so much to get to know the winged cats. My wish was granted in this novel! I mean HELLO winged cats! How am I supposed to just let that go? I was immediately looking at each of my cats and wondering what color wings they would have. I'm not giving away any details about the cat's story, but he was a lovely addition to the novel.🖤🐈⬛🪽
Caitlin Davies narrated the audiobook, and she was BRILLIANT! There were a myriad of voices including those of creatures big and small and she nailed it! I was impressed with her talent! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Also I have to mention this gorgeous cover!😍 Not only does it look like a dreamy escape, but it is a great representation of the story.
Terlu was once a librarian. However, she was punished for using magic and turned into a wooden statue to serve as a lesson to others. She awakens in the cold, confused, alone, and hungry. When she finally finds another person, it's an introverted gardener named Yarrow. He sent for a sorcerer and got her statue to spell back to life. Yarrow is desperate for help. The greenhouses have been declining since the death of the sorcerer who spelled them. Terlu is terrified of being turned back into a statue for breaking the law again, but she isn't the kind of person who can walk away when she might be helpful. Plus, there's no one else on the island with them. The failure of the greenhouses is brutal with breaking glass and subzero temperatures. Yarrow is used to his own company, that of his cat, and plants. Terlu longs for conversation and makes a few unusual friends.
Walking into each unique greenhouse was inspiring. Each one was like its own little ecosystem with magic and creativity sparking all around. It felt as though the author made the most of the premise. There is a theme of second chances both giving and receiving them that is softened with good natured humor and hope.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks to Macmillan Audio for providing an Advance Listening Copy via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I loved this companian novel to The Spellshop!
Librarian Terlu Perna is just so lonely that she breaks the laws against spellcasting to create Kaz (our spider plant friend from The Spellshop.) Her punishment is to be turned into a statue. When she is finally awoken she is on the island of a grumpy (but very cute) gardener. Together they work together to figure out what is wrong with the magic and spells on the island.
This book is sweet and cozy and every bit as charming as its predecessor. The characters were charming and easy to root for and funny! I enjoyed the romance and was glad that it did not overshadow the magical plotline- in fact they blended together perfectly.
The narration was so good! The narrator's lilting voice transported me right into the magical kingdom.
I highly recommend this book- either before or after reading The Spellshop. The Enchanted Greenhouse is perfect for fans of cozy romantasy.

“The Enchanted Greenhouse” by Sarah Beth Durst narrated by Caitlin Davies published with macmillian audio
Firstly, I want to thank Sarah Beth Durst for providing me a copy of The Enchanted Greenhouse via Netgalley. “The Enchanted Greenhouse” by Sarah Beth Durst is a beautifully written and emotionally rich fantasy that explores redemption, belonging, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again. The story follows Terlu Perna, a former rebel librarian who once broke the law by creating Caz, a sentient spider plant. After serving her magical punishment of being turned to stone, Terlu awakens on the remote, snow-covered island of Belde. She is alone and uncertain of what her second chance at life means.
The only other person on the island is Yarrow, a handsome and reclusive gardener with a calm presence, a fondness for honey cakes, and a tendency to keep his emotions close. Despite his reserved nature, Yarrow offers Terlu kindness and encourages her to rediscover herself. As she begins to care for the island and the enchanted greenhouse at its center, Terlu realizes the magic holding the place together is starting to unravel.
When the island and the people she has come to care for are threatened, Terlu must make a choice. Is she willing to risk everything, including breaking the law again, to protect her new home and a fragile, blossoming romance?
This story is full of warmth, charm, and quiet strength. Sarah Beth Durst brings her world to life with vivid descriptions and emotionally grounded characters. Terlu is a thoughtful and complex heroine, and Yarrow’s steady support makes their connection feel natural and deeply moving.
Perfect for readers who enjoy character-driven fantasy, soft magic, and stories about healing and hope, The Enchanted Greenhouse is a truly enchanting read.

This was such a good book. I loved the story and the writing so much. The characters were great and the story flowed smoothly. Will definitely read more books by this author in the future.

The Hype Is Real!
The Enchanted Greenhouse absolutely delivers! Though not a direct sequel to The Spellshop, it shares the same enchanting world—and fans will be thrilled by a cameo from a beloved character that ties the two books together beautifully.
Sarah Beth Durst once again proves she's a master of cozy fantasy. Her worldbuilding is rich and immersive, and the characters are so real, they’ll tug at your heartstrings. The dialogue is sharp, witty, and full of warmth—just the right blend of humor and heart.
The narration of the audiobook is brilliant.
If you’re looking for a feel-good read that wraps you in comfort while still offering emotional depth, this book is everything. The vibes are immaculate and the magic is undeniable. Total 5-star read!

Grateful to NetGalley for the ARC!
In this spin-off from The Spellshop, Terlu Perna wakes up from her statutue-ification in the Great Library of Alyssium to find herself on the island of Beld where a massive enchanted greenhouse is being tended by a lone gardener Yarrow. However, the enchantments sustaining the greenhouses have begun to fail and Terlu finds herself torn about whether attempting more enchantments to save the plants is worth the risk of breaking the Empire's laws against magic use by non-sorcerors.
This was a perfect cozy fantasy and retained all of the magic from The Spellshop. I am so looking forward to more stories from this world!

This was a true delight to experience in audio format. Caitlin Davies is a very experienced narrator with an extensive body of work, so knowing that she was the narrator for this and that she did The Spellshop which is the same world as The Enchanted Greenhouse you know that she is loved enough to be invited back to continue to narrate Sarah Beth Durst’s fantastic fantasy settings. Caitlin really brought Sarah’s world to life. I love that different voices she used esspecially when she switched to the sentient plants. It had me smiling almost every single time she switched over.
Our main characters…what growth they showed. Now Terlu in the beginning we see is being punished for performing magic by creating a sentient spider plant. Due to this she is sentence to an undetermined amount of time as a statue. Now they do give us a time frame in the book how long she is a statue before she is brought back to her normal self but I am going to let you find that out yourself. But where she awakens is not where she was turned into a statue, previously the Great Library of Alyssium. She is now on an island that houses this Greenhouse. And its not just one there’s multiple. The catch the gardener was told that she could fix all his problems…and that she was a sorcerer. Can she help him with the same thing she was sentenced to become a statue?
I love the concept of this book. The execution was amazing. Everything about this was perfection in my eyes. I loved how the characters just end up finding out everything peace by peace and discovering what’s wrong and that even though Terlu is not really a socerer but a librarian… and his disappointment at first. It’s just something you need to experience. I haven’t read The Spellshop it has been on my radar and TBR since the release. And now I am dropping everything to go read it immediately since it is the same world.
Thank you to Macmillan audio for the complimentary listener copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

**Review: *The Enchanted Greenhouse* by Sarah Beth Durst**
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
Narrated by: Kaitlin Davies
*The Enchanted Greenhouse* was an absolute delight from start to finish! Sarah Beth Durst’s enchanting storytelling is beautifully brought to life by Kaitlin Davies’ stellar narration—easily one of my favorite listens of 2025.
The story begins with Terlu Perna awakening on a mysterious island in the dead of winter, unsure how she got there. Her last memory? Turning into a statue after using magic to make a spider plant speak. As she adjusts to her new surroundings, she meets the island’s only other inhabitant—a kind-hearted gardener—and the two set out to restore the failing magical greenhouses.
With charming, talkative plants, rich worldbuilding, likable characters, and a mystery woven throughout, this book is whimsical, heartwarming, and wonderfully imaginative. It perfectly balances magic, friendship, and a dash of adventure.
Highly recommended for fans of cozy fantasy with a botanical twist!
Thanks to MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Terlu Perna left her home island to find her place in the world and instead ended up in a ill-fitting position that left her lonely, so lonely that desperation drove her to create a friend, a sentient spider plant named Caz.
When her creation was discovered Terlu was punished harshly and lost six years in a statue form. Then suddenly she found herself waking up, alone and in the snow, somewhere she doesn't recognize.
Thankfully she bumps into the island's sole other inhabitant, a crotchety gardener who was under the presumption that she can fix all the issues he's having with his plants and greenhouses. While she's scared to use magic again, lest she again be punished, Terlu can't not help and sets out to find a solution.
This is tooth-achingly sweet. While I enjoyed this cozy fantasy too, it wasn't quite as good for me as The Spellshop, partially because I found Terlu's extreme extroversion to be just a little annoying (I'm an introvert). I DID greatly enjoy the plants.

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this ALC.
I adore Caitlin Davies and her ability to give various voices to all kinds of characters!
OMG!!! I freaking loved everything about this book! The characters, the magic, found family, talking plants! I absolutely cannot wait for a third book bc there is an event that I am dying to read/ hear!!!

Thanks to NetGalley for the Audio ARC!
This was everything I wanted and MORE. It was cozy, funny, sweet, unexpected, and really fun. It was extremely well written with amazing characters, a beautiful setting, and an interesting plot. It walked the line perfectly between keeping me interested but not raising my blood pressure and leaving me feeling lighter.
This has easily risen to the upper echelons of cozy fantasy for me. It had charm and wit and heartwarming relationships, and of course the awkward, imperfect MCs I've come to expect and adore from Sarah Beth Durst. My heart and face smile when I think about this cast of characters and I can think of nothing better to feel after finishing a book.
The ensemble case is AMAZING - I want to live there and meet them all, eating the amazing foods Yarrow makes and learning fascinating things with Terlu; exploring the greenhouses and learn songs with the plants.....I could go on and on about how much I loved it, seriously.
If you love cozy fantasy (or even if you don't), you do NOT want to miss this one. It's beautiful and is a warm hug with a cup of rose tea, a slice of perfectly honey-buttered bread, and a stunning array of flowers to look at and enjoy.

Narration is excellent, story is adorable.
Loved it just as much as the first one.
Has a great message.
So cute and whimsical.
I LOVE TALKING PLANTS.

My all-time favorite cozy fantasy yet! It's a masterfully crafted slow burn with a beautifully executed HAE. If you're a fan of grumpy/sunshine dynamics, you'll adore this! It's a stunning second-chance romance set in a richly detailed world that showcases the author's impressive imagination. This heartwarming, humorous, and quirky tale will captivate your heart with its relatable characters. I'm thoroughly enchanted by this book and can't help but smile from start to finish - it's pure perfection!

Sarah Beth Durst is the queen of cozy. This was just as cozy and compelling as Spellshop. Set in the same world but with completely different characters, it’s another beautiful exploration of found family and self acceptance, with a pinch of romance. Terlu’s anxious rambling is relatable. Yarrow is precious- Durst writes some of the best MMCs.
I listened to the audiobook. The narrator was, once again, a perfect fit for Durst’s writing. She did a great job of bringing all the different characters (and plants) to life!
Thank you Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the ALC!

If you enjoyed The Spellshop, you’re going to really enjoy The Enchanted Greenhouse. This is another cozy, fantasy that just touches your heart strings and makes you do nothing but smile and cheer for everyone to have a happy ending.
Terlu is our FMC who was a Librarian who broke the laws by creating Caz (our lovable Spider Plant from The Spellshop) and was punished for it. Fast forward, freed from her punishment, she finds herself on a distant island with a grumpy gardener named Yarrow, a cute flying kitty, a talking rose, and an enchanted greenhouse that needs saving. There’s so many things to learn, fix, and Terlu has to do the thing that got her punished to save it all.
There’s cute plants and creatures that you fall in love with, budding romance, and honey cakes that draw you in this wonderful book. You could easily devour this book in a day or two, it’s just that fun and cute.
Thank you to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for allowing me to access an ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.
#NetGalley #TheEnchantedGreenhouse

This book was such a cozy magical read about second chances, self discovery and found family.
The enchanted greenhouse is a sequal/companion story to Sarah's book the spellshop and it was just as magical and beautiful. This story was so imaginative and wonderfully crafted, from singing/talking flowers, magical greenhouses, flying cats, miniature dragons and an island with one gardener to watch over it all.
I loved Terlu and she was such a relatable character and was fun to watch her navigate her past trauma. Caz from the spellshop makes an "appearance". Yarrow is a Gardner on the island who was left alone by his family and when these two finally start to become something after a very slow burn, the beautiful love story they create is 🥹
If you love low stake fantasy, and enjoyed the spellshop you must read this book when it comes out in June!
Huge thanks to netgalley and Macmillan Audio for the ALC for an honest review
And finally can I just end with saying how stunning this cover is!
