This book points out the essential elements of a crime: motive, means, and opportunity. If all three are not proven, a guilty person may go free, while an innocent person may still be wrongfully condemned despite having an alibi. It highlights a collaboration of six bestselling authors in psychological suspense who explore themes of truth, deception, and unresolved loyalties through intertwined narratives.

The authors include:
- **Freida McFadden**: A bestselling suspense novelist with award-winning titles. (5 stars!)
- **Sally Hepworth**: An acclaimed author of nine bestselling novels available in many languages. (4 stars!)
- **David Lagercrantz**: A Swedish novelist known for his work on the Millennium series. (3 stars!)
- **Chris Bohjalian**: A prolific author of twenty-five books, including an Emmy-winning adaptation. (3 stars!)
- **Chad Zunker**: A bestselling author with notable legal-themed novels. (4 stars!)
- **Wanda M. Morris**: An award-winning author recognized for her impactful stories. (4 stars!)

These six short novellas provide a glimpse into hidden crimes and dark secrets. While I enjoyed some more than others, overall, it's a great book to dive into while on vacation. Novellas can be hit or miss; they can be very enjoyable or difficult to appreciate because of their limited length, which often doesn't allow for full character development. Some of these stories were thought-provoking, while others presented new ideas to consider.

Thank you, Amazon Original Stories, for the digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Stories like these are why I love genre fiction. Here's a theme: someone must need an alibi. And then the stories are all so different and interesting. They're short and entertaining, and the authors are already established with lots of other mysteries.

Beautiful collection that kept me entertained would recommend each book. Loved that I got some many books in this

These were ok. I think they’d be better as full books rather than the short stories. I enjoyed them all. Each was unique with an interesting story line.

The Alibis Collection was a mysteriously good collection where everyone needs an alibi. My favorite was Sally Hepworth’s “The Ex-Wives Club.” She managed to nail distinctive characters, intrigue, and a satisfying ending. I also enjoyed Freida McFadden, but I was a little more confused by the ending (as I was supposed to be!). This was a nice collection of novellas and I look forward to reading full-length stories from them!

Thank you to Freida McFadden, Sally Hepworth, David Lagercrantz, Chris Bohjalian, Chad Zunker, Wanda M. Morris, Amazon Original Stories, and NetGalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

For publisher: My review will be posted on Goodreads, Amazon, Storygraph, and Barnes & Noble etc.

I enjoyed these stories. Short and crisp, just like I wanted them to be. Was looking for Frieda McFadden book, and I just stumbled upon this collection where I got 3 more books to read, it's a reader's delight, trust me!! Sally Hepworth I'm a big fan of her stories and other 3 authors, glad I found them here. Nothing but good feelings about these books.
Happy to got hands on these stories!!

Death Row - 3 stars; Fast, typical Freida, whirlwind of twists and turns. Fun short story.

The Ex-Wives - 2 stars; i fear this wasn’t for me. too many stories for such a short novella and the abrupt ending really made me upset.

False Note - 2.5 stars; this felt more like a soap opera with a murder than a thriller novel. i was entertained but i wasn’t shocked and there were not any major twists, more so just drama.

The Skydivers - 3.5 stars; The best of the collection thus far. This one is gory, has an amazing cast of characters, and I could’ve read more about this story. I wish we got a bit more after the ending of this book because the reasonings to why everything happened had me shocked. I really enjoyed this one, the narrators also did a fantastic job!

Good Neighbors - 3 stars; Fast paced, a perfect story for a novella. Good twist and I enjoyed the ending!

Small Things - 3 stars; Nice short story, ending leaves a bit to the imagination but it was satisfying. The emotions this book got out of me about nasty men was something else. Love a good revenge book always!

This was a good collection of stories. Each of the five books had a similar theme, a few was better executed and gripping than others. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy.

I loved reading those short stories! They were perfect for a quick read and kept me captivated to the end. My favorites were obviously by Frieda and Sally though!

Thank you NetGalley for a chance to read these books in exchange for an honest review!

Jumped on this chance to read a collection of short stories from Amazon.

Some were definitely better than others but considering they are all short stories I'm not gonna fault any of them since the time invested wasn't a loss.

Thank you NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories for this opportunity to read these stories.

OMG - 6 short stories by some of my favorite authors! Yes please!
Some of them were better than others (Freida and Sally and Wanda) - women are great psychological thriller storytellers.
I definitely recommend diving into these blind, just eat some popcorn and enjoy!

I'm not very big fun of short stories but decided to give it a try because I liked the writing style of some writers who were in this collection and I'm very happy that I did.
That was interesting series that features a lot of different talented writers with a lot to say and I'm definitely looking to see more of there work.

I wanted to read this collection for the Freida McFadden, but I stayed for all the rest. Each had a unique take on the "Alibis" theme, and provided me with hours of fresh stories, and new clues.

-Death Row
I've never read anything from this author before and I was intrigued to see what her writing was like.
Without giving anything away I can only say this one felt too gimmicky to me. I doesn’t help that I've recently watched a show I didn’t enjoy that had a similar ending.

-The Ex-Wives Club
This was a fun one! I enjoyed the multiple POV format, it worked really well even for a short story.
I admit I didn’t try to guess who was the culprit as I read 😅 but I liked how the ending unfolded.

-False Note
The way it’s narrated really worked for me, it kept me guessing what would happen next.
I'd say this was more suspense than mystery, it was good for such a short story.

-The Skydivers
As a mystery story it was ok, but the end was a bit out there for my taste.

-Good Neighbors
A short but effective thriller. It kept me on my toes even if I guessed some of the twists.

-Small Things
This was my favorite story from the Alibis collection. It was my first time reading this author and I thought the suspense and the anticipation were very well done. A nice conclusion for this anthology!

𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗧 𝗣𝗘𝗘𝗞
A series of short thrillers by six award-winning, bestselling authors.

𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗡
𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝟷: 𝙳𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚑 𝚁𝚘𝚠 𝚋𝚢 𝙵𝚛𝚎𝚒𝚍𝚊 𝙼𝚌𝙵𝚊𝚍𝚍𝚎𝚗
Freida McFadden headlines this collection, and deservedly so. Her short is tragic and genuinely heart-wrenching. Not the most original tropes, but Freida weaves it together so well that it still felt twisty and left a memorable impact.

𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝟸: 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙴𝚡-𝚆𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜 𝙲𝚕𝚞𝚋 𝚋𝚢 𝚂𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝙷𝚎𝚙𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚑
Sally Hepworth’s domestic thriller had depth, intrigue, wit and charm. I loved that everyone was a suspect, and I didn’t guess whodunnit. This was the standout story in the collection for me - all the stars!

𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝟹: 𝙵𝚊𝚕𝚜𝚎 𝙽𝚘𝚝𝚎 𝚋𝚢 𝙳𝚊𝚟𝚒𝚍 𝙻𝚊𝚐𝚎𝚛𝚌𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚣
A toxic father-son relationship. It’s probably the bleakest of the books, full of unlikables.

𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝟺: 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝚂𝚔𝚢𝚍𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚜 𝚋𝚢 𝙲𝚑𝚛𝚒𝚜 𝙱𝚘𝚑𝚓𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚊𝚗
The Skydivers had a military backstory which isn’t my preferred sub genre but it was a bite sized opportunity to leave my comfort zone.

𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝟻: 𝙶𝚘𝚘𝚍 𝙽𝚎𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚋𝚘𝚛𝚜 𝚋𝚢 𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚍 𝚉𝚞𝚗𝚔𝚎𝚛
I thoroughly enjoyed the fast-paced Good Neighbors - nonstop action with a satisfying ending.

𝙱𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝟼: 𝚂𝚖𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 𝚋𝚢 𝚆𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚊 𝙼. 𝙼𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚒𝚜
Small Things is a lot of reviewers favorite, but my least - 99% slow build and whiplash ending! Works for most!!

𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗?
I didn’t think I was a short story fan, but this collection proved me wrong!

It leans toward psychological and domestic thrillers, but there’s plenty of heart, sass, darkness, and revenge.

Depending on your preferred subgenres, there’s something here for everyone. My favorite was The Ex-Wives Club by Sally Hepworth, but honestly, I enjoyed them all more than I expected. A super solid, suspenseful collection.

Thanks to @BrilliancePublishing and @Netgalley for access to this advance readers copy

This collection of short stories was a delightful surprise! I appreciated having such a diverse range of authors and styles gathered together in one convenient place. It's a fantastic way to discover new writers, and I've already added several to my personal reading list. While I enjoyed all the stories, Freida McFadden's "Death Row" truly stood out for me—a captivating and expertly crafted piece that left a lasting impression. Each story offered a unique and compelling narrative, despite their brevity, making this a highly recommended addition to any reader's to-be-read pile. I wholeheartedly suggest giving this collection a try; you won't be disappointed!

Oofff!!
I really liked some and others just fell flat, overall, amazing collection!
Freida dissapointed me (not like we have a love-hate relationship) but the others made up for it.
Sometimes I got really mad so I guess the authors did a good job!

If you're a fan of quick, pulse-pounding reads that leave you second-guessing every character, *Alibis* is the perfect anthology to dive into. This collection brings together six powerhouse voices in suspense and thriller fiction—Freida McFadden, Sally Hepworth, David Lagercrantz, Chris Bohjalian, Chad Zunker, and Wanda M. Morris—for a lineup of stories that are as varied as they are gripping.

Each author delivers a taut, standalone tale centered around the theme of alibis—some rock-solid, others unraveling at the seams. Freida McFadden delivers her signature twisty mind games, while Sally Hepworth brings emotional depth to her psychological suspense. Lagercrantz offers cerebral intrigue, Bohjalian’s entry is atmospheric and chilling, Zunker brings legal tension, and Morris wraps hers in socially charged stakes and moral gray zones.

The beauty of this collection lies in its diversity of tone and storytelling. Despite the brevity of the stories, each one feels complete and satisfying, often with a clever sting in the final lines. The pacing makes it ideal for readers who want bite-sized mystery without sacrificing impact.

Whether you’re a die-hard thriller reader or just dipping your toes into suspense, *Alibis* is an addictive, well-curated collection that showcases just how versatile—and dangerous—the concept of an alibi can be.
