It was an interesting book that includes letters exchanged between the author and outriders (people on the edge especially with social stigmas attached). These outriders discussed include people who were part of the Mexican-and-Cuban revolution, people with dyslexia, fighting the imperialists and the ones fighting for various other causes. Real life accounts of the personal and political struggles of the outriders make it an interesting read.

This is not a book to sit and read from cover to cover. There are sections for each of the people covered, with letters, poetry, candid photos, and other writings. It's interesting and unexpected-- for instance, one of the four people has been incarcerated since being involved in a robbery that started from different ideals but went bad. One person was in Cuba, and it was interesting reading about Castro from a perspective which was positive in some ways.
I'm not sure this was the point but I felt like I could understand these people better because of how they expressed themselves, even if I would never agree.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
