Absolutely so uncomfortable listening to this book that I don't think I can continue listening/reading it, which is a bummer because I was very excited about it.

This is my first read from this author, and I was highly impressed! The tension, the banter and the FUNN.
I loved how goofy some parts were, (the volleyball game, Milkshake, the initial scene at the club and she's telling off the other guy!!) And loved how some parts were sweet, like Calder finding he can be proud of his work and knowing he would make his father proud. Or the award ceremony.. oh my gosh I swooned.
The way these two went at each other (in good ways and bad!) was enough to keep me hooked.
It was a fabulous read, and I will be going back to read The Nine Month Contract now!! Can't wait for more from this author!!

3.5 stars.
Amy Daws's "Seven Year Itch" is a very funny enemies-to-lovers, friends-with-benefits romance with a forced proximity element. It's always a great time when audiobook legends Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon are narrating! They bring the characters of Calder and Dakota to life in interesting, steamy, exciting ways. Their voices play off one another so well, making this book all the more fun to listen to! I think the story is a bit too long and repetitive, but I enjoyed it for the most part. I loved the banter between Dakota and Calder! They hate each other so well, but when they start to like each other even more, tensions and sparks fly. Calder is SUCH a brooding grump/borderline jerk-face for the majority of the book, but in a charming way, if that makes sense. Dakota's unique personality sparkles. I loved all of the stuff having to do with her store. She has never had a man worship her, or even put her first, despite previously being married for many years to a guy who never appreciated her and degraded her whenever he could. I loved watching her come out of her shell on her own, but when Calder helps nudge her in the right direction, those scenes really worked for me. The experimentation element of the story was also excellent, too. I think where this story falters is in its length. It's a little too long for me, while being a bit too repetitive. Still, I cannot deny that I enjoyed this book a lot!
Thank you to NetGalley, Amy Daws, and Harlequin Audio for the complimentary ALC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

Unexpected banger. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but this one just took first place for me. I liked the unconventional romance in this one. And the spice was also insane, so that helped. 10/10 will read book 3

This audiobook became one of my anticipated listens of the year! I was like I need it in my ears and life asap! It's always so much fun and an unforgettable time whenever I listen to this author's audiobooks. I couldn't wait to experience Calder and Dakota's journey again in audio and headed right back into the Mountain Men Matchmaker world! I absolutely loved this audiobook!
When I found out that Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon were narrating Seven Year Itch I was so excited! Having listened to these two narrators many times I couldn't wait to hear them join forces for this audiobook. Erin as Dakota and Teddy as Calder was everything! These two drew me right back into the Mountain Men Matchmaker world and I couldn't get enough. With their narration, as Calder and Dakota they captured the enemies to lovers goodness, the intensity of their chemistry, the hilarious moments that had me cracking up, the feels that got right to the heart, and the true realness of these characters.
Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton did such an incredible job with their performances! I fell for Dakota and Calder's story all over again. I'll definitely be listening to this audiobook many more times in the future! Another favorite listen of mine for sure!
With Seven Year Itch, Ms.Daws has created such a fantastic enemies to lovers romance that's stays with you! This listen was filled with angsty goodness, blushworthy steam, relatability, priceless family moments, Milkshake the cat, realness that gets to you, and so many emotions under the Fletcher Mountain sun! 💗🐈⛰

I had actually seen so many reviews of this book, and was offered an ALC, so I figured I would go ahead and listen. Unfortunately, it was not for me.
Calder goes to his brother’s destination wedding. While there, he has to room with his sister-in-law’s best friend Dakota. Dakota is recently divorced, and seeking to regain her confidence. So of course, a relationship ensues.
🐈⬛ Duet narration
🐈⬛ Sister-in-law’s bestie
🐈⬛ Enemies to lovers
🐈⬛ Small town romance
🐈⬛ Vacation romance
🐈⬛ Meddling family
🐈⬛ Spicy
There was really no plot? There was, but it felt secondary to the spice of it all. I need an actual plot to follow. I did like that Calder became vulnerable with Dakota, and was very sweet to her. I also loved that Dakota’s focus was on herself, making herself happy, and pursuing what she wants post-divorce, prioritizing her confidence. Overall though, unfortunately, it just wasn’t for me.
Thank you HTP The Hive and Harlequin Audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

I have been an Amy Daws fan for years! I am so excited for her first traditional publishing release.
I loved this book! Calder and Dakota's enemies-to-lovers relationship was so fun to read. There were moments of classic Amy Daws humor that made me fully laugh out loud. The spice was definitely spicing, but it wasn't just spice. The emotional connection that grows between these two characters is beautiful. It is the perfect mix of heat, humor, and heart!
The audiobook narrated in duet with Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon is perfection! These narrators brought Calder and Dakota fully to life. I loved the way they added drama and emotion to the already amazing scenes.
I truly felt Dakota's story! I have never been married, but I was still able to relate so strongly to her character and her emotions. As a plus-sized girl who has struggled to love my body my whole life, I loved reading her journey!
I truly loved this book and highly recommend it!

Seven Year Itch is the second book in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series! While it can technically be read on its own, I strongly suggest going through them in order since this one includes spoilers from the first book. Additionally, the first book is incredibly funny and definitely worth your time. It features some intense enemies-to-lovers dynamics along with a friends-with-benefits storyline. If you enjoy any of these themes (and a tattooed lumberjack), I believe you’ll find this one enjoyable. The author excels at blending humor with genuine and raw emotions, making the characters feel real. You can't go wrong with the mountain men! Such a great book and Amy is amazing and down to earth. Go read this now!!!

Seven Year Itch is the second book in the Mountain Men series and spin off from Last on the List. While this can be enjoyed as a standalone, I highly recommend you read at least the first book.
We met Dakota in Last on the List as Cozys best friend, Cozy is not married to Max, and Max has a brother Calder. You keeping up? Due to an issue between Calder and Dakota when he was remodeling her house, they have spent the last 7 years hating each other. Now, in Mexico, they find themselves forced to share a Palapa…and one bed. During their time in Mexico they slowly start to open up to each other, and that’s when things start to get spicy! When they are back home they decide to be more of a enemies to lovers situationship as Dakota wants his help finding her confidence again after her divorce. Soon lines start to blur, and that enemies becomes friends becomes more.
Calder is a perfect example of don’t just a book by its cover, he’s a bearded tattooed grumpy mountain man, yet he has some majorly big feelings and a cat that he walks around outside in a baby carrier on his chest. What’s not to love? I love how protective he is of everyone around him, even Dakota when they are in their “enemy” time. One of my favorite things about this book was seeing Everly all grown up and causing trouble. We saw her match making skills in Nine Month Contract and it gets even sneaky-er in this book. I have wanted more Dakota since we met her in Last on the List, she was such a fun and lively character. I appreciated her “never going to keep me down” attitude and as someone who grew up in the height of the tie-dye phase, I loved that she made it into a business. She knows what she wants and is okay with setting boundaries with Calder for their arrangement. This was a little slower burning to me then Amys other books, but when it got going it was HOTT. I liked the “club” aspect being brought in and wouldn’t mind a little more of that in future books.
This book was once again brought to us on audio by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon, who have brought these characters to life through all the other books. They are such a comfort to listen to and with them having done the previous two series, they really know these characters and can carry them through each book. I can’t wait for the next one!

Book 2 of the series and can be read as a standalone but I do recommend reading the first book as it is the same characters and some spoiler in this book.
This book focuses on Calder who is looking for a date to his brother's wedding. He ends up with his nemesis Dakota. This is an enemies to lovers, small town romance.
Calder is aloof and is happy to be alone in the mountains with his brothers and his cat. The mix of Dakota created great tension and banter. Dakota is recently divorced and looking to find herself. They helped each other grow while making this spicy.
There's humor and also depth to the story. Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon were perfect as these characters.
look forward to reading more from this series.
Thank you @htp_hive @htpbooks @htpbooks_audio for a copy of this.

I went into *Seven Year Itch* expecting a spicy enemies-to-lovers romcom, and while it delivered on the laughs and the heat, what surprised me most was the emotional depth layered beneath all that banter. Amy Daws knows how to balance humor, heart, and heat—and this book proves it.
Let’s start with the audio: Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon *own* these characters. Calder’s gruff, emotionally-guarded exterior paired with Dakota’s sharp-tongued vulnerability created the kind of chemistry that crackles in every scene. Their narration brought out every ounce of tension, awkwardness, and unexpected tenderness—especially in those quieter, more emotionally charged moments. It’s the kind of performance that makes you pause just to *feel* something.
The good: Calder is peak mountain man energy with a gooey center. I adored his journey from "leave me alone" to "please stay forever." His “Cat Daddy” persona might sound like a joke, but it’s honestly the perfect encapsulation of his blend of rugged softness. Dakota’s arc—reclaiming her confidence after divorce—felt relatable and empowering, especially when seen through Calder’s unexpectedly tender lens. Also, the meddling Fletcher family is pure chaos in the best way, and niece Everly is basically the chaotic cupid I didn’t know I needed.
Why it’s not quite a full 5 stars for me: Dakota’s hostility sometimes crossed into “too much” territory. I get that their history is messy, but her words often felt *mean* rather than defensive or witty. I wanted her to take a bit more accountability earlier on, rather than relying on Calder to carry the emotional labor. And while the third-act breakup was short-lived (thankfully!), it still felt a bit formulaic for a story that was otherwise full of surprises.
That said, the audiobook format is *absolutely* the way to go. If you’re looking for a hilarious, emotionally satisfying, and seriously steamy listen, *Seven Year Itch* is a must-add to your audio queue.
Final Verdict: A tropical enemies-to-lovers tale with heart, heat, and hilarious family interference—brought to life by two powerhouse narrators. Just the right amount of spice and sweetness, with a few emotional gut-punches along the way. 4.25 stars!

🌶️🌶️🌶️
This book had me snort laughing involuntarily on the regular, and just as often fanning myself from the heat between these two characters. I freaking love Everly and her matchmaking ways. I loved how sex positive and body positive this book was, and how Calder helped Dakota figure out what she liked in a safe environment. I also loved that the characters weren’t in any rush to get married or have kids. I did wish that Dakota would have taken more responsibility for the hurtful words and fighting between them. Overall, a good second book in the series. Technically it could be read as a standalone, but it would definitely give spoilers for the first one if you haven’t read it yet. And Everly was wrong. “Cat Daddy” is the flex that Calder thinks it is 😏😏
❤️ Tropes ❤️
💋 enemies to lovers
💋 forced proximity
💋 Cat Daddy MMC
💋 divorced FMC
💋 SIL’s best friend
Calder just needs to find a plus one to his brother’s wedding in Mexico. There’s no one in the small town at the base of his mountain. His dating apps have been messed with. Although they did have the Cat Daddy part right, so it has to be one of his family 😒 so he went to the only place left he could think of where he could get a plus one that wouldn’t expect anything more than a free vacation and some great sex. His sex club. But the one who captures his attention can’t be who he thinks it is. Until he hears the voice behind the mask, and watches as his suspicions are confirmed. The woman who can’t stand him and gave him the nickname Killer Calder. His SIL’s best friend. And she looks amazing.

My First Audiobook Experience and It Was EVERYTHING!
Let me tell you, the only way to enjoy this book is through the audiobook. Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon absolutely nailed it! Their narration brought Calder and Dakota’s wild, hilarious, and emotionally charged banter to life in the most entertaining way. Their chemistry made every scene pop, and honestly, they had me laughing out loud more times than I can count.
This was my very first audiobook experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better intro. The witty back-and-forth, the emotional beats, and the tension between this enemies-to-lovers duo were delivered with perfection.

Five stars for Seven Year Itch by Amy Daws, which takes us back to Fletcher Mountain in Colorado for another hilarious romp with the somewhat grumpy Fletcher brothers in a small-town romance. The series characters are interconnected but each book stands alone. That being said, you really should dive in from the beginning to enhance your pleasure.
This book focuses around middle brother Calder, with his middle child syndrome, and his and spunky enemy turned love interest, Dakota, who also suffers from some self-esteem issues. This enemies-to-lovers couple is primed to get the sparks flying no matter where they are. They bump heads at every turn, always ready with a snippy comeback, yet they have sexual chemistry in spades. This stubborn pair learns that they actually have a lot in common, and navigating their way through all the past BS and denied feelings made for a very entertaining read that I hated to put down.
I also gave the audio book a listen and my gosh, the duet narration by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon is pure perfection. They brought out all the laughs from the words of Amy Daws. They truly brought the banter of this feisty couple to life. You could feel the emotion and the tension in every word. I have always loved both of these narrators and hearing them read an Amy Daws' book is basically freaking hilarious. Amy loves putting her characters in awkward situations.
The story is amazing. Having all the characters from previous books show up in the beginning portion for Wyatt and Trista’s wedding was a lot of fun and helped refresh my memory of the history between them all. And, of course, niece Everly is at it again. She just might have a future in matchmaking. Seems she’s at least three for three at this point. I guess Luke better watch out as he seems to be next on her hit list. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for him next in Honeymoon Phase.
This book hits a lot of my favorite tropes, which should appeal to many readers. The forced proximity at a beautiful resort, the close and somewhat meddling but well-meaning family, enemies-to-lovers, fake-ish dating with a purpose and an end date, small-town romance where everybody knows your business before you. I could really could go on, but now it’s time for you to pick up this book in your favorite format and settle in for the hilarious antics of Calder and Dakota.

This series and this book are the perfect binge listen brain candy for a hot summer day. Was it the best romance novel I've ever read? No. Was it super deep? Meh(it does get into some good stuff). Was it a fun time start to finish? Definitely. There were some aspects I wasn't in love with and the MMC annoyed me so much in the first book that it took me a minute to get to know him in this one. Overall I enjoyed my listen experience - how could I not with Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon narrating. I'm not going to be chomping at the bit to get my hands on the next in the series, but will certainly be picking it up once it is out on audio.

Seven Year Itch is book 2 in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series and it's Calder and Dakota's story. It was a steamy enemies to lovers, small town romance about self worth and confidence. The story was also hilarious and I was laughing out loud many times.
I'm really loving the Fletcher brothers and Calder was no exception. I loved him. His story was a bit emotional and I felt for him.
His arguments with Dakota were intense, yet inspite of the back and forth dynamics they did support each other, and pushed each other out of their comfort zone.
Unfortunately I didn't like Dakota. She was rude and I really disliked how she spoke to Calder at time, so that messed with the story for me. I also could have done without the third act breakup. However it didn't drag on and was quickly resolved.
The Fletcher family member were all a riot yet really supportive and I loved the family vibes and chaos they brought to the story. This was an enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend it to romance lovers.

The audiobook was amazing. It was narrated by 𝑇𝑒𝑑𝑑𝑦 𝐻𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑡𝑜𝑛 & 𝐸𝑟𝑖𝑛 𝑀𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑜𝑛. They nailed these characters giving everyone their own voice and personality and bringing out the relevant emotions as required. Their voices were perfectly suited for this role and they really brought the story to life. It was a pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.

Seven Year Itch by Amy Daws
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️ | When hate burns hotter than desire
Listen, I went into this expecting a fun little enemies-to-lovers romp and came out emotionally compromised. Amy Daws really said "let me wreck you with feelings" and proceeded to do exactly that.
Calder and Dakota's seven-year hate spiral transforming into something achingly beautiful? Chef's kiss. What starts as pure antagonism slowly unravels into the most vulnerable, tender love story that had me clutching my chest. The way their banter shifts from cutting to caring, how they learn to see past their own hurt – it's masterful character work disguised as a spicy mountain man romance.
The tropical forced proximity was chef's kiss perfection, and watching Dakota reclaim her confidence while Calder shed his emotional armor? Devastating in the best way.
This absolutely DESTROYED me in the best possible way! Like, I'm talking full-body book hangover, staring at the ceiling at 3am wondering how fictional people can make me feel this much. It's giving perfect summer vibes but honestly? Peak romance is a year-round sport, and this book said "hold my beer" to seasonal reading lists.
Teddy Hamilton does it again, turning every growl and whispered confession into pure audio gold. Trust me, you want this one in your ears.

If you love a good enemies to lovers filled with the best banter then look no further!!Calder + Dakota had me laughing so hard. 🤭
Calder has become the cat daddy of the brothers and is ready to settle down and start his own family.
Dakota is coming off another bad marriage and is trying to find her spark again. Little does she know it’ll come at the hands of a tall, tattooed, bearded, neanderthal, but like an onion who has layers!
I especially loved listening to the audio. With it in duet narration having both speaking at the same time just adds to my experience.🥰🎧
𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚔 𝚢𝚘𝚞 Amy + NetGalley for allowing me the early listening opportunity!💚

The narrators of this audiobook were fantastic and I am typically a huge fan of Amy Daws but unfortunately I found this one a little boring.
