Calder is a solitary mountain man, happy in his singledom, but needing to find a plus-one for his brother's destination wedding. He goes to the sex club where he's a member to find a date, and instead he finds Dakota. She's his sister-in-law's best friend, and the woman who blamed him for ruining everything he touched after an accident during her house renovation 7 years ago. They hate each other. You see where this is going.
I definitely didn't need the level of detail in the spicy scenes here. Like. There's a LOT of scenes. And not too many details are spared.
I felt like the book was far longer than it needed to be. There were some tangents. There were also some random flashbacks that feel a little disjointed from the rest of the book. I don't think I need to go looking for more from this series. The book is decently written, but it's a little too much for my taste.
The audiobook was not terrible, but every female character was voiced by the female voice, and all the men are done by the male voice. Honestly, when she cuts in to deliver a line, it's a tiny bit jarring, far moreso than having a male reader change his voice for a female, and vice versa.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy via NetGalley in return for sharing my thoughts on this book. Thanks to the author and publisher for this opportunity!

I’m sorry but any book that has the MMC reference his pet cat as his pussy is a hard no from me. Teddy Hamilton is a goat narrator but not even he could save this writing.

Seven Year Itch by Amy Daws
Dakota Schaefer is a a divorced small-business owner who finds herself stuck sharing vacation time in Mexico with Calder Fletcher. Calder is a rugged, tattooed mountain man she’s despised for years thanks to a few mishaps along the way.
This is the perfect small town romance story with a slow burn. As you read about the two you can not help but cheer them on and hope that they end up together. It was an easy book to listen to and one that I loved reading. There was enough excitement and who doesn't love a happy ending?

This audio was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The voice actors really brought these characters to life in my ears!

This was so funny!! Everything you could ask for in a rom-com, honestly! My first book by Amy, and it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved the narrators, the story, everything. So good

This is the second book I've read by Amy Daws, and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for future books by this author. I like these series that take a group of people (brothers in this case) and just work their way through them, pairing them up. It's silly and predictable, but in a nice way.

I just can't love these characters more. And I've never read anything by Amy Daws that I haven't loved. She writes some of the best banter and spicy times.
I wouldn't say this is necessarily enemies to lovers, rather annoyed by each other. :) They are forced to cross paths as their best friend/brother are married.
If you like enemies with benefits and a sex bucket list, this is the story for you.
It just full of laughs and emotions. A man who loves his cat. And a girl who loves her T-shirt shop.
This audio book is what all audiobooks should strive to be. Duet style with legendary narrators.

This was a fun installment. I think the author has improved her skills from the first book, and I look forward to reading whatever else she puts out.

I absolutely loved listening to this audiobook. The narrators were fantastic, and they both made each of their characters come to life!
I absolutely love the first book in this series, Nine Month Contract. When I found out it was going to be a series where the rest of the Fletchers find love I was so excited because I also wanted Calder, Luke and their niece Everly’s stories.
I was very surprised by the Calder in the first half of Seven Year Itch, he was unlikable and a big jerk. I mean he was supposed to be the tattooed cat daddy of my dreams! How could he act that way? But Amy knew what she was doing and redeemed him. His character journey made sense and in the end I loved him again. I also loved Dakota’s post divorce journey. It was great to read about this curvy independent woman who was struggling but she worked through it and was stronger for it.
I loved the banter between Calder and Dakota and the spice was very hot!
I also enjoyed the family and friendship dynamics, especially Everly’s meddling
I recommend reading this fun and spicy mountain man story and even though it is a standalone, I wouldn’t skip the first book, because it’s too good to miss!

A hate hate relationship comes crumbling down when faced with a teen matchmaker and animalistic emotions! Calder and Dakota have hated each other for years and can’t stand to be anywhere near each other! When Calder spots her at a sex club, it seems there’s more to either of them than meets the eye. Chemistry for miles and a few truths that are dying to be set free.
A book of chemistry, hot sex and owning their own passions has just the right combo to pull you in and hope that hate turns to love!!

This is true grumpy/grumpy story with almost a 'bully' style of writing. The characters are constantly picking on each other or taking jabs but honestly it worked really well.
The author does a great job of balancing out the characters so that even in the midst of their banter you can see the changes that slowly happen as these two get under each other skin. I think the plot of this book is extremely well thought out and the representation/healing that the characters experience was realistic. The humor throughout this story will have you laughing out loud and the soft quiet inner thoughts will give you that romantic swoon. I will say the audio performance by Teddy Hamilton was AMAZING and he carried Calder's personality perfectly.
The female narrator was hard to listen to as she drug the end of her sentences down in an elongated way that was very difficult to listen to at times.
I did have one major issue that didnt allow for this book to be a 5 star:
*slight spoiler* The third act break up was ruthless/brutal and I think it should have been tamed down, The things Dakota said to Calder were very aggressive and hurtful and I just couldn't believe in her character development that is what happened. I am not a third act break up person and this one was ROUGH.
Overall this story is great if your a fan of bully/grumpy style romances with some seriously epic one liners.
Thank you to The Hive for this audio arc -all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Enemies with benefits...Say less!! I am a huge enemies to lovers and this audiobook did not disappoint! This is my first Amy Daws experience and I need more! I'm running to backtrack and listen to book 1 in the series!
Seven Year Itch is book 2 in A Mountain Man Match Maker Novel series. The audiobook is performed in Duet narration by Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon.
And I couldn't get enough of these two together... they knocked it out of the park with this one!
Dakota and Caulder love to hate each other. Until they don't hate each other anymore and realize that maybe they never did...
The banter, the digs thrown at each other, clever and witty, spicy and oh so many laughs along the way!
Loved this so much!

Loved it from start to finish it was a chefs kiss and loved all the witty banter and the rules and presentation..

I already loved Seven Year Itch but the audiobook production for this was stellar. Teddy Hamilton & Erin Mallon did such a phenomenal job as Calder & Dakota. They nailed the comedic timing and somehow made a funny romcom into the most swoony and hilarious romcom.

This series is just so beyond fun. Amy Daws writing is so funny and heartwarming and the spice is SPICY. Daws blew the lid off her other books with the sex in this book. Sex clubs, sex lessons, sex bucket lists - these two were TEARING up the sheets.
Calder and Dakota's relationship had me giggling from the get. Reading about these two falling for each other was just a blast. The melt from enemies to enemies-with-benefits to lovers was so good. These two worked hard for their HEA. Dakota is such a strong FMC and I really loved her. She didn't need Calder, ultimatley, but she wanted him! And Calder, sweet sweet Calder. He's so overlooked and under appreciated. But Dakota sees him and appreciates him and I love her even more for that.
Everly's matchmaking shennanigans are hilarious. I love how close this family is and how deeply they care for their own.
I cannot wait for the rest of this series! I love these burly mountain men who are obsessed with their women. I love seeing Max and Cozy, and Wyatt and Trista. These brothers are HOT! I also really loved that we got a cameo in this book from Kate and Miles (Wait With Me). I am SOOO ready for Luke and Addison, but it's going to be hard to top Calder and Dakota for me.
Thank you so much for the ALC! I loved this book so much.

I went into this book expecting fun and spicy. Don't get me wrong this is an extremely spicy book, but I really enjoyed how those elements of the story supported this exploration of finding who you are meant to be. Not only did they explore the sexuality, but they also found confidence in themselves through the support of each other. This book isn't that deep, but it could be that deep if you've ever been in a long term relationship that not only ends, but takes a part of you with it with it ends.
I'm also a sucker for a book with a naughty to do list.
Thank you so much to HTP and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I wish I would have signed up for the ARC not the ALC. I enjoy Amy Daw's writing in general, and her characters are always unique, interesting and magnanimous in their own ways. But the female narrator drove me crazy. She lingers on the end of words/sentences that make her seem like a WWE announcer. Teddy Hamilton played his character wonderfully, as he does. But the female narrator was so annoying/distracting.
Amy's writing is on consistent and on brand for her style and who doesn't love a frenemies with benefits to lovers book? This story had me laughing out loud and the crazier it got the harder I laughed and I fear the longer this book will live rent free in my head.
Favorite Quote: “Him asking for something you weren’t comfortable enough to give means he wasn’t giving you what you needed to feel safe. That’s not boring, that’s just expected.”
Overall if you need a good laugh and a book that won't soon leave your mind then this is the book for you.

Spicy/ sex club

This book is part of a series, but I jumped into this one without having read the first with no issue. So it can be read as a standalone (although I will probably go back to the first one eventually).
This book had me chuckling from the very first page. I loved the bickering, ball-busting dynamic between Dakota and Calder. They pushed and challenged each other to be better. I still hate miscommunication tropes, but as long as it works out I guess I'll keep reading them and screaming into the ether while it happens.
Some tropes and what to expect:
~ enemies to lovers
~ "enemies" with benefits
~ meddling family
~ forced proximity
~ vacation romance
~ small town
~ lots of "sexcapades"
Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing for this advanced digital copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Such a great audiobook! I was kicking my feet and cracking up the whole time. Voice acting was fantastic and I have really enjoyed listening to this series!

The absolute perfect small town enemies to lovers romance. Witty barbs tossed to one another that will keep you absolutely desperate to find out what happens next. Amy’s series is definitely a must read!

I didn’t love as much as the first one, still a great read regardless. Still funny and a page turner but not for me this time.
