Honesty moment? I REALLY was not sure about this one in the first half. It is pretty wild for a romcom, but Calder and Kennedy won me over. This is a hilarious romance with two wildly misunderstood (by each other) main characters who enter a benefits pack to help Kennedy move on for her divorce. The way these two bring the best out of each other will leave you giddy and feeling all the feels.

Once again, Amy Daws writes a story that has you laughing from beginning to end. The banter is always top tier, the characters say some of the most random things that have me giggling and the spice always gets me. Her books always look so wholesome but behind those closed doors, good lawd. 🥵

I love that we got to see some characters make appearances from her Wait With Me series (10/10 btw). Also, go check out the Passionflix movie for Wait For Me if you love romance movies, it’s great!

This reads as a standalone, there’s really no need to read any of her previous books to be able to understand the storyline. This story follows another of the Fletcher brothers and Dakota whom hate each other but are forced to share a private bungalow during a wedding getaway. Of course, sparks start flying, drama ensues and yes, we get a HEA and a whole lot of 🌶️ inbetween. I read it in two days as I just couldn’t put it down.

The audiobook is narrated by daddy Teddy Hamilton and the amazing Erin Mallon. The story was so fun to listen to narrated by these two. I’ll listen to anything Teddy narrates as he always does stellar job making the banter so hot. Erin as Dakota was sheer perfection for the character as well!

I’m an Amy Daws superfan. Every single book is romcom gold.

This being her first new new book in a few years, I was extremely excited to get my hands on ‘Seven Year Itch’ and me tell you, I was not disappointed. The Fletcher Mountain men are a great group of heroes and Calder is my personal favorite of the brothers, so really there was no chance I wouldn’t love it. Still, to confirm for all the review readers out there:

* This book is full of all the bickering banter I was hoping for
* The writing is HILARIOUS. Seriously, Amy Daws has such an incredible blend of laugh-out-loud craziness and genuine emotion and heart.
* So much tropey-goodness: a genuine hate-to-love relationship, there’s only one bed style forced proximity, enemies with benefits perfection 👌

The worst part about this will be the months of waiting I’ll be doing until the next book comes out. Worth it.

Audiobook 5/5: As always these narrators killed it. Absolute perfect voices and duet is the superior narrative style

Amy Daws brings us back to Fletcher mountain. The 3rd brother, Calder, get his story with humor and heat. We have already met Dakota Schaefer and we get more background into their relationship also noted in previous books in this series. This can be read as a standalone, but it was really interesting to be able to follow through Max‘s book and Wyatt‘s book. The enemies to lovers was quite a slow burn, but it really does have a satisfying payoff and we understand that the two of them have been entangled in each other‘s lives for so long, getting to see everything come together was incredibly satisfying and a great payoff. This is definitely for those who love and already established relationship that really pays off from a good slow burn. Amy Daws writes with so much humor and love, you also get some really emotional moments sprinkled in.
Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon really give Calder and Dakota a lot of life & personality. The duet style is PERFECT for having the banter between them sizzle and I adore the choices they made. They really elevate the story and help us immerse ourselves in the enemies to lovers perfection.

An enemies to lovers that had fantastic rep, but left me wanting a little bit more.

Overall, this book hit a little bit more than the average middle of the road Book for me. I ended up reading a 3.5 ⭐️.

Audiobook:
As far as the audiobook went, it was very middle of the road. I did not care for the female narrator that much. All of her characters sounded exactly the same. None of them seemed to have their own personalities or agency when she narrated them, and it made it a little bit hard to connect with the FMC. The male narrator did a good job. I did enjoy the MMC's character more than I did the FMC. If I had read this solely via e-book or physical book, I feel like I would've liked a little bit better. That being said, everything was clear and concise. I was able to listen to the entire book without changing the speed between narrators.

What I liked:
•I did like the midsize rep we got within our FMC. I liked the struggle that she seemed to have with her body changing as she ages. Being that I'm also having body changes happening to me at this time, it felt very relatable and well done. Fespite being overwhelmed at times by the changes in her body she seemed open and eager to be confident and embrace them, and I really love that.
• I enjoyed the overall theme of finding yourself post divorce and exploring what you like and don't like sexually after being stifled for so long. All of the representation surrounding those themes felt very real and relatable and flowed organically with the plot.

Characters:
•This is where I had the most struggle. I never felt overly endeared to either the FMC or the MMC. I felt like Caulder was doing his damnedest, and being fairly direct, in trying to tell Dakota how he really felt, Dakota was just completely oblivious and that felt extremely out of character for someone like Dakota who is smart, educated and runs her own business with absolute competency. It seems like she would've been smart enough to pick up what Caulder was putting down. It was like the author was trying to force a miscommunication when there really was no need for it. I also feel like Caulder was a little too gung ho to leave his grumpy mountain man demeanor behind and start a monogamous situation with our FMC. It didn't fall in line with how broody and against relationships he seemed in the first part of the book. I felt like it gave me a little bit of character whiplash that I was never fully able to recover from.

General comments:
• I was really pleased with the pacing of the novel. I felt like there was just enough tie in from the first book that it kept the storyline going. Yet it was separated enough that you could read this book alone and still have an enjoyable experience. I never felt like I was bored or the story was bogged down with too much world building. It was a nice balance for me and I enjoyed that about this novel.
• I did feel a little emotionally detached to the ending as to whether or not they would end up together. I think that had to do with the inconsistent character work, and the fact that I did not really feel overly bonded to either of our main characters.
•This does have a sex club trope woven within it and I just think that is not my favorite. It made sense to the book into the plot, and overall I feel was done really well. It just wasn't my favorite inclusion.

Overall, I do feel like this book was enjoyable, even with the downsides. I was able to get through the novel into the end, fairly easily without really feeling like I didn't need to finish the story. I would read more by this author because it might just be that this particular story wasn't my favorite. But it was still good enough for me to want to reach out and try some of their other works.

This is tied for my favorite of the year so far. I lost count of the times I barked out in laughter from the things the MCs said. I loved Nine Month Contract, but I’m OBSESSED with this story. Calder is everything, grumpy, crass, a cat daddy (swoon), and has the dirtiest mouth 😮‍💨 But let’s not forget Dakota who held her own against Calder in blunt directness, and I’m so here for it 🤣 The spice in this is absolutely top notch, with some funny stuff thrown in.

Okay, I would be remiss if I didn’t comment on the narrators of this, because they were fantastic! They embodied Calder & Dakota, and I honestly forgot I was listening to an audiobook at times and was on Fletcher mountain (and in Mexico) with them! Please 🙏🏻 do yourself the favor of listening to his, you won’t regret it.

I went back and forth on what to rate this book.

I really really enjoyed Teddy’s narration on this one. The way he is able to make you laugh by showing emotion through his voice adds so much to the audio book. I would burst out laughing at a lot of comedic parts he had. I did also enjoy Erin’s narration. I actually enjoy Erin Mallon very much. The only thing that bothered me is sometimes I felt that some of her words were dragged out. An example would be when the POV switches and it’s Dakota’s turn…I would cringe every time she would say “Dakota”. This is just me being picky.

Now for the story. I do feel if I had read this book I would have rated it closer to a 3. I found that the miscommunication parts were dragged out. I do get that is the point. Them both not knowing each other has feelings even though they can see the other person changing for them in front of their faces got on my nerves a bit. There was a lot of repetition as far as character traits. We get that they men were players in the past…it’s mentioned quite often.

I loved the family aspects and how everyone is close. I thought that born characters are were hilarious.

Overall it’s a solid 3.5 stars. I would definitely recommend getting the audio.
The audio is a great time. I loved the dual narration.

Even though I didn't read book 1 I have since this series on my wish list to get. So I can do a re read . What made this such an easy and enjoyable read for me to totally get lost in and forgot it was even a second book was the banter between the two main characters, each given as each give . And omg I especially loved the nice she was like they are made to be together so I'm going to make it happen, and the chaos that happened had me laughing. .

Seven Year Itch is the second book in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series. Dakota and Caldor have been enimies for seven years after a disasterous remodel of her Victorian home. Now newly divorce Dakota is trying to get back into the world as single woman. While at a destionation wedding in Mexico they are forced to share a room and soon a bed. Now Caldor is helping Dakota with getting her confidence back in the bedroom. This was only supposed to last 3 weeks tops and now nearing the end will they tell each other how they really feel? Seven Year Itch is just as spicy and funny as Nine Month Contract. I would like to thank both NetGalley and Harlequin Enterprises, Limited for letting me listen to an advanced copy of this audiobook.

The hilarity of this book is something I just can't describe. I full on belly laughed for 85-90% of this book and I have no regrets. When I ask for a romcom, this is exactly what I mean. The banter was on point, the spunk and attitude from both the MMC and FMC is just gold...but also for the side characters. From the first to the last page, I could not pull myself out of Fletcher Mountain. The romance is sooooo good and me giggling and kicking my feet. I honestly could go on and on about everything that's perfect about this book, but you need to experience it for yourself! Also, the audio...🤌 Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon duet style is absolute perfection. They did such an amazing job of bringing the story to life. I felt all their emotions as if I were one of the characters. I honestly didn't want it end.
