This was a bit of a rollercoaster read for me—in both good and not-so-good ways. The beginning immediately pulled me in. The setup, the characters, the chemistry—it was all so promising. I mean, you can’t go wrong with Teddy Hamilton for the audiobook. I was invested in the banter, the emotional tension, and the way the love story started to unfold. The ending also wrapped things up in a satisfying, heartfelt way that made me glad I stuck with it.

But… the middle lost me a bit. The pacing dragged, and I found myself zoning out in sections, especially during some of the sex scenes. They felt a little drawn out personally, although I can appreciate that much of that was the FMC discovering her sexual side and what she liked

That said, I really enjoyed the main couple. Their connection felt real, and the banter was sharp and charming. If the middle had tightened up a bit, this easily could’ve been a solid 4+ star read for me

Still, if you’re into romance with great character chemistry and don’t mind a steamier (and sometimes overly steamy) journey, this might be a hit for you! The male characters in this book are super swoon-worthy

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for this opportunity for the ALC

These were the same narrators as Book 1 of the Mountain Men Matchmaker series, Nine Month Contract! It threw me for just a second because I listened to them back-to-back, so I still had Wyatt & Trista on the brain. But I mean who can go wrong with the MMC being read by Teddy Hamilton? Erin Mallon also did a great job with Dakota’s character. Them together? Magic ✨

Tropes include: Enemies to Lovers, Divorced FMC, Small Town Romance, Secret Situationship, Sex Club, “Vacation” Romance/Forced Proximity

I’ve got some mixed emotions on this one. As I’m writing this review I’m realizing I actually have a lot of hang ups regarding the plot, but I did find some parts pretty cute.

I love that Calder and Dakota built each other up when they weren’t being completely horrible to each other. We see both of them gain confidence - Dakota in her sexuality and value and Calder in his independence from his family. The influence of their individual support plays a huge factor in these developments and gave me faith that they were actually right for each other.

Some details I loved:
• Milkshake 🐱
• Everly’s mastermind matchmaking 👩‍❤️‍👨
• PowerPoints instead of lists
• Unhinged Tinder bios ❤️‍🔥
• Meddling family members
• A man who reads self help books (yes, even of the audio variety) 📚🎧
• Little glimpses into Wyatt and Trista’s life together

It’s often insinuated that Calder is a player, but you don’t really see any evidence of that? The fallout from the infamous “Robin Situation” seems to be the source of all of the non-committal behavior across the series thus far. I’m gonna say I see this coming back to haunt our MMC in the next book, as well.

I struggled with the resolution of the enemies portion of the enemies to lovers in this one. 7 years of genuine disdain, hurt, and tension didn’t feel resolved. Many of the absolutely vile, malicious things they both said to one another were never addressed or simply swept under the rug. As someone who values apologies above all else, this was disappointing. Yeah, yeah, “actions speak louder than words”, but like… do they? Idk. It was giving immature and the growth never came.

The “grand gesture” also just… wasn’t it. That’s all I’m gonna say.

The writing itself was really fun, albeit a little all over the place. Sometimes the pacing was off, I was left with more than a few questions unanswered, and the character development felt off. BUT - It’s a cute, spicy, summer romance with banter and dirty talk galore. There are hints of vulnerability, encouragement, and healing, but they always felt just a little out of reach. If you’re looking for something quick, spicy, and fun, this is the read for you!

The Basics:

Standalone, but 2nd in the “Mountain Men Matchmaker” series
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton & Erin Mallon

I received an advanced listening copy of this audiobook for review. This is my own opinion.

I didn't read the first book in this series (I actually didn't realize it was a series when I requested it), but I don't think it's required.

Seven Year Itch is a cute, sexy read with a cat daddy and a mid size fmc. They run into each other at a sex club, and things go downhill from there!

There's a lot of consent and well negotiated kink, so that's always a plus in my book! (Though we see very little actual kink in the book--it's not that kind of spicy I guess.)

This one does have a bit of miscommunication (or really a huge lack of it), but overall I think the friendships with Cozy and Trista and Dakota is really cute. The brothers get a little too much in each other's business, but I'm not from a big family so that might just be how it really is.

Both narrators did a great job!

Thanks to Harlequin Audio for the alc!

3.5/5 rounded up

Narration was 4.5 stars- the intimate noises sometimes felt off.

3.5 stars rounded up for easy enjoyability. This blends enemies to lovers with lots of banter, but without a true true feeling of enemies. Yes, there was mutual dislike and barbs thrown, but it wasn't believable enough. I liked the powerpoint presentations, "cat daddy" energy, and PLAYFUL banter- at times the banter was a little cruel for my liking, We were able to see some growth, although it seemed to happen all at once- and some fun family antics. Everly is matchmaker extraordinaire.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for providing me with an advanced listener copy of this book.

This small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance had me laughing from the very first page! The narration was absolutely top-tier—Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon brought the story to life with a natural, engaging chemistry that made every scene even more enjoyable. I’m a huge fan of Teddy Hamilton, and he delivered Calder’s character perfectly.

The story focuses on second chances, rediscovering confidence, and finding real self-worth, all wrapped up in witty banter and heartwarming moments. Amy Daws balances humor with raw, authentic emotions in a way that makes her characters feel relatable and fully developed. The writing is vivid, easy to get lost in, and well-paced throughout.

If you're a fan of fun, flirty romances with real emotional depth—especially if you enjoy books like Amy Award’s Cocky Kingmans series—this one should absolutely be on your TBR. Amy Daws brings the same level of humor and heartfelt storytelling, but with her own unique small-town charm. Highly recommend!

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity. Seven Year Itch is a spicy enemies to lovers romance. Filled with laughter, angst and tears. The Fletcher Brothers do not disappoint and this enemies to lovers with Calder and Dakota is fire. Calder is the type of guy who takes his cat (Milkshake) for walks in a baby carrier on his chest. Yet, he tends to be known as the textbook middle child and plays into that—not taking things too seriously and being goofy. Dakota is recently divorced. I found both Calder and Dakota to be easy to read and extremely relatable. Especially Calder with dealing with feeling left behind and never taken seriously. Calder & Dakota as a couple were magnetic. They truly are the real definition of enemies to lovers. Their arguments and disagreements were intense. Even with that push and pull dynamic they still supported each other and pushed one another out of their comfort zones. This is part of a series in which I had not previously read the others but will be definitely going back and catching up but it can be read as a standalone.

Great narrators to a great book! This small town novel made me laugh from the very first page! It is completely unpredictable and the characters are unhinged, especially the male main character. This book is all about second chances and love. It is also about self worth and confidence. It is lighthearted, adventurous, emotional and hopeful! It came with a diverse cast of characters that are all lovable! It is a medium paced read that comes with a clever plot! It is both plot and character driven, with the flaws of the main characters as the main focus. I rate this audiobook 5 out of 5 stars!

4.5 Stars

Seven Year Itch is the second book in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series. Everly is back, this time taking it upon herself to update her Uncle Calder's dating profile. She sets up a situation where Calder and Dakota will share accommodations during their trip to Mexico. Initially, Calder and Dakota can hardly tolerate one another until an unexpected moment during their vacation alters the situation. Once they are back on Fletcher Mountain, Dakota approaches Calder with an offer to help her regain her confidence before her divorce.

You’ll definitely want to check out the audiobook for this story! Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon provide wonderful dual narration for Calder and Dakota. They truly excelled in their performances, and I can't envision anyone else embodying these characters as they did.

A heartfelt thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for providing an ALC.

When I tell you I screamed, I SCREAMED when I received the email telling me I was approved for an advance listener copy. I preordered Seven Year Itch months ago but have been waiting to read it until the audio was available (I'm on an immersive reading kick right now). I immediately started listening and reading. Weekend adulting responsibilities, forgotten!

Teddy Hamilton did NOT disappoint, couldn't have picked a better Cat Daddy. Meow! Erin Mallon nailed being BABB Dakota. The duet narration was on point with all the right emotions. Made the story come alive.

The banter, snappy one liners, the nick names. All the best parts of an enemies to lovers spicy rom com.

Spoiler free teaser...
Everly, strikes again. This time it's her uncle Calder aka Cat Daddy. Getting Dakota and Calder to room at Wyatt and Trista's destination wedding was a stroke of genius on her part. Little did she know just days before Calder dragged his PITA "enemy" Dakota out his smegg club. Now all he wants to know is why she was there...and a deal is made.

The tension and sparks between these two were heating the pages so much, I needed a cold shower. Fletcher Mountain is housing the best kind of mountain men, may need to go mountain climbing. I'm eagerly waiting to see what Everly has is store for Luke!

Such a good book and audio. 😍

Thank you so much to Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for this ALC of Seven Year Itch.

This was such a fun and quick read. I loved the back and forth banter so much. Calder was such a grump through a good chunk of the book, but that made his protectiveness over Dakota that much better. I laughed so much throughout the story. I also loved how Everly continues to play matchmaker even though she lives so far away.

I listened to the audiobook and let me tell you… Teddy can do no wrong. Both narrators did a great job!

Amy Daws has done it again! This story features mountain man Calder Fletcher who is the tattooed bad boy of his brotherly trio. He is set on being single for life after previously being hurt and has a hard time opening his heart to anyone except his small furry kitten Milkshake. We follow him to Mexico with his family where his big brother Wyatt is getting married. While there his niece Everly is playing matchmaker again and this couple is giving us enemies to lovers. We explore backstory on both Calder and Dakota and love all of the banter between the two. I'm already looking forward to book 3 coming out. I can't get enough of these mountain men!

So funny absolutely loved Calder and Dakota”s Story. Steamy and Funny and full of Angst which I love. Narrators are perfection, and the pace was perfect. I highly recommend this book, and Audiobook a easy 5 stars

Great read and awesome listen. I was sold on this book from the prologue, it’s that good.
Minor spoilers.
Seven Year Itch follows Calder and Dakota on their enemies with benefits journey. Dakota is recently divorced and trying to find herself again. Calder is a cat dad and perpetual bachelor (especially after a past relationship did him dirty) with “Peter Pan syndrome”. Story follows them both as Calder tries to assist Dakota in finding her confidence again; and maybe learn some things about himself on the way.
Great read and fantastic audio book, the duet narration does a brilliant job at bringing the story to life.
Thank you to Amy Daws, NetGalley, Harlequin Audio and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the chance to read and listen to this great book.

I really enjoyed this book! The characters were amazing, the situation they find themselves in (thanks to the MMC’s matchmaker niece), all the shenanigans on the mountain, and the slow fall for each other were great.

Teddy Hamilton & Erin Mallon gave amazing performances!
