Horrid Family Dynamics Created a Terrific Love Story
This series continues with the cousins coming together for another season.
We first meet Perry who has been arguing once again with his despicable father. So, what should he do? Perry is off to war never to see his father again.
He also has issues with a horrid mother. Upon leaving the army after the death of his father, he is now going to send his mother packing so he can get on with his life.
Perry seems to be a lost soul who will soon come across the lovely young Lady Dru. She will turn out to be the answer to his dreams plus helping him with his nightmare.
This is a charming continuation of the delightful series of finding love and happiness.
This book is also a standalone story with previous characters that are quite involved with helping the couple overcome many of their emotional insecurities before they reach a very rewarding ending.
I truly enjoyed all of these characters, and the plot was very enjoyable.
Mature Advisory 2/5

Toby has major mine character vibes 🐱

A cute lowstakes regency romance that takes place in the countryside.

Dru has no intention of marrying or having a season at all. That is until she visits her recently married sister in the countryside and sees a whole new side to marriage and romance.

Lots of amazing side characters who really helped both of the main characters grow. Both Dru and Perry needed to see and hear how different life can be than what they are used to and Dru’s family members don’t hold back!

It’s part 3 in a series, it can be read alone, but so much more fun to also read the other ones. Can’t wait to find out who’s next and to keep hearing about Dru and Perry!

Dru is a spinster that never wants to marry and have children. When she goes to visit her sister and cousin, she realizes that true love matches do exist. She is immediately attracted to war hero Perry who has come home to inherit. Perry does not want to marry for love because he doesn't want a woman to get close enough to see his nightmares he suffers from the war. Can they find a happy ever after? I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.

The author is adept at writing stories that draw the reader in and won’t let go until the book is finished.
This is book three in a series of ten cousins coming of age and the marriage mart although each can be read alone.
Dru does not want to go to London next year to find a husband.
She goes to the countryside to visit her sister and meets Perry the Earl.
He is home from serving in the war and has his own demons.
Entrancing romance with characters from first two books interwoven in their lives.
Great epilogue.

This was intended to be a sweet romance. I hadn’t read the earlier books in the series, but that wasn’t a drawback despite there being lots of references to all the cousins and their spouses. I wanted to like this more, but I found it repetitive. We were told so many times what an innovation it was for one of the cousins to say that everyone of their generation should bring their children to London for the season so they’d all get to know each other. That’s a nice idea, but I didn’t need to have it spelled out for me four or five times. I didn’t need to read over and over how the hero has what we would call PTSD from being an officer in the Napoleonic Wars and, therefore, thought he shouldn’t ask the heroine to marry him. But he was willing to touch her quite intimately in a way that I can’t believe any supposedly honorable Regency man would do with a virginal woman he’d just met a few days earlier. So, while their first kiss might have been innocent, his actions with her didn’t remain in the innocent category.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

This was a very sweet romance, and both main characters are genuinely lovely—you find yourself rooting for them to find happiness, especially poor Perry. Despite his privileged background, he’s faced his share of struggles.

The story follows a man dealing with trauma and a woman determined to live life on her own terms. Naturally, when their paths cross, these differences create some emotional barriers. At its heart, this is a story about overcoming personal obstacles, making compromises, and learning that life doesn’t always go as planned.

I read this in a single day—it’s an easy, charming read, perfect if you’re in the mood for something heart-warming. While the plot may not be the most original and writing could have been more nuanced, I have a soft spot for stories where a man comes to terms with his demons, thanks to the unexpected kindness of a remarkable woman.

This story felt like De Ja Vu. Very similar to the last one. I enjoyed reading it though. I do like to read these type of love stories.

This is a fun, entertaining read. Perry and Dru are interesting, wounded, strong, caring, intriguing, entertaining characters. I enjoyed their romance and the path it took to get to their HEA. I enjoyed spending time with these two. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment. I love getting to see the couples from previous books in the series enjoying their HEA and getting updates. The story is easy to read and get into.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
