This poetic epic felt a bit like a fever dream. It follows Cenex, a Puerto Rican/Algarabian/(spoiler) trans man on a journey to belonging. This journey is long and bizarre and wonderful. At one point the various James Bonds come to him. He gets lost in a labyrinthine Walgreens. On one piece of his journey, he is guided by cats. There were one thousand references and I only caught four of them. Ultimately, it was a good read, and I'm glad I read it, but it also felt like the kind of book there are going to be classes based just on dissecting it because it had that much going on. So, if you wish the Odyssey was queerer and somehow weirder, this is the book for you,
