My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘A Family Betrayal’, book 1 in The Capello Family Series written by Emma Tallon, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

During the day Maria Capello works as a barrister where she meets the rich and influential, hiding her main job as boss of a North London crime gang. Her brothers Alex and Antonio are also part of the gang but whereas Alex is dependable and can be relied on, Antonio is a liability and the enemy of other gangs.

‘A Family Betrayal’ is the first in an addictive new gangland series featuring the Capello family and if this thriller is anything to go by there’s a lot of exciting reading to look forward to in the future. I didn’t think the author’s previous series with the Drew family could be improved on but the Capello series has all the signs of being even better with the relatable characters of Maria and Alex who I really liked. The story is well thought-out with drama, suspense and intrigue that leads to the final chapters where there’s skulking in the shadows and lives could be at risk. As the family has unfinished business both with their criminal activities and privately, I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Utterly Gripping — I Couldn't Put It Down

Emma Tallon has done it again. A Family Betrayal is the kind of crime thriller that grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go. The tension, the secrets, the family drama — I was hooked from the very first page.

Maria Capello is such a strong, layered lead. Watching her juggle her legal career with her role in the criminal underworld was fascinating — she’s sharp, loyal, and absolutely ruthless when she needs to be. The family dynamics were electric, especially the chaos that comes with her brother Antonio’s impulsiveness.

There are so many twists and turns, and just when you think you’ve figured it out — bam, the story hits you with something you didn’t see coming.

This is the start of what’s going to be a brilliant series. Dark, fast-paced, and full of heart — I already can’t wait for book two!

Emma Tallon is one of my favourite authors when it comes to gangland crime and she is fast becoming the queen of the underground. I loved her previous book series - The Tyler Family and The Drew Family Series. I was devastated to say goodbye to them but I’m delighted to have The Capello Family series to dive into. I can see it becoming another series I can totally fall in love with from the storylines to the characters. The Capello Family are yet another family that holds no punches when it comes to their business dealings and shady shenanigans. A huge plus for me is when characters from previous books make appearances. Tallon isn’t afraid to go where you hope she won’t but it certainly adds to the storyline. The Capello Family consists of Sophia, Maria, Alex & Antonia and they definitely have both the likability and unlikeability factor but I can see myself loving them. This was a great read and that ending has me so excited for the next instalment. Just hope it’s not too long to wait.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review #AFamilyBetrayal

oh i do love it when i accidentally roll over on to a good gang land book. some are done ok. some not. some are brilliant. but Emma, well she knows them out the park. and she has a few series that have finished so to know this is a new one i am overjoyed about this.
and what a corker to start. and im all in.
this time we are in book 1 of the Capellos. we have Mama Sophia and her three children. Maria. Alex and Antonio.
Maria is already a fab one for me. she leads a double life, by day a lawyer and by night she is a head figure in th mafia world. Ale is the head of the firm and Antonio(oh Antonio) is the rogue, the worry, the one to worry over. they have to worry with him because they cant afford to be put in danger with his behaviour either with others or with himself.
and boy does this problem and worry come to the surface and in all those emotional tense ways we love in books like this. i was holding on with tense hands to this book. what you get when you have these family tie type books is that its family, or those you love involved and that just puts so much more into the arena.
i cant wait for the next in this series because what a start. i wont spoil too much of the plot as i think with an intro book you especially need to come into it excited and fresh and meet the people and what they do with all the new tension.
but lets just say family family family they pull us together, apart and all over the place. and especially younger brothers!
but by the end of the book like me you will be waiting for the next one and already fully involved in this series.

Book 1 of The Capello Family Series

Emma Tallon has done it again! I intended to start this book and red a chapter or two. Luckily I had a day off work because once started there was not way I was able to put this book down.
All the Bravo's, hell yeah's and as many stars as possible. Hooked. The good news is this is the start of a new series. Superb , interesting characters. some you will like, some you won't. i aways feel like an author has done a great job when you find yourself talking to, arguing with the characters.

Family is everything, until they become a burden, an embarrassment. Some lines should not be crossed.

I am so excited to see where this series will take us. If this is just the start, imagine how epic the series is going to be. 'No pressure'

Emma Tallon has certainly made her name in genre. Way up the top of the list and a must read author for me. I just can't praise her enough and thank her for the many hours of enjoyment I've had reading her books.
Absolute corker of a read.

Tallon begins a new crime family drama - an excellent beginning to my next addiction.
Family betrayal on all sides mixed with a terrifying matriarch, male ego, strong women and found family. Very excited to see where this series will go!
LOVE the references to the Drew family still bummed that series ended.

This new series from Emma Tallon was always going to have big shoes to fill, and as a big lover of the Tyler and Drew series, I was eager to start reading.
Maria,Alex, and Antonio Capellos are a force to be reckoned with, but when betrayal rears it's ugly head and Antonio breaks all the rules, how can the family survive and how will they move forward.
A solid storyline that at no time fails to keep the reader engaged and filled with intense drama throughout.
As we've come to expect from Emma the women are both strong and forceful and the stand out characters for me were Cat and Maria,I'm especially looking forward to seeing how Cat's story plays out along the way.
Book 2 is sure to be a cracker, and I can't wait.
And by the way, this new series filled them shoes perfectly.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

My favourite author in the gangland genre and I loved the Tyler series and the Drew series that Emma wrote so was excited to see there was a new series out. I wasn't disappointed. Gripped from the first page we meet the Capello family, mum Sophia and her three children. Maria leads a double life, a .successful lawyer by day and Mafia boss by night and her two brothers Alex and Antonio.. Plenty of suspense and mystery I couldn't read it quick enough. I just hope we don't have to wait too long for the next instalment.

We have a new series, and what a story it is! You'll be hooked from the very first page. Meet the Capello family—Antonio, Alex, and Maria. They're ruthless but fiercely protective of their own. Maria is a talented lawyer by day and a mafia boss by night. One brother is good, the other is bad, and this is their gripping story. I absolutely can't wait for book two!

A cracker of a new crime thriller from this author that never let's me down.
We meet the Capello family, Antonio, Alex and Maria.
Can you really trust the people close to you.
Betrayal cuts deep, when it comes from within the family.
The Gangster underworld as the mob boss is dead, it's time for the next generation to step up.
Maria working as a lawyer through the day, and a mob boss at night, her family is everything, and now Antonio has broken the rules leaving bad blood, can the Capellos survive.
A Family Betrayal has you on the edge of your seat right till the closing chapter.
Mind-blowing cases and chapters.
Nobody messes around and I'm now eager for more.
Exceptional excellence and above all loved it!!

Book 1 in the Capello family
W.O W what a fantastic start to a new series, with the Capello family I was hooked!! I loved getting to know the characters and snippets into their lives.. Alex/Antonio, the brothers, Maria their sister and Sophia their mom.. when Cats dad sadley passes away, the family business would be left to her, BUT the company and all the assets including Cat and her daughter Orlas home and car have been left to Greg her ex partner, why??? Would her father have left them with nothing? They were his world.. A chance meeting in a cemetery may change cats predicament, with the Capellos help, can she re gain what is rightfully hers?? It's tense,, action packed highly recommend 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read from me.

This is one of my favorite authors in the gangland crime genre. She has already blown me away twice with fantastic series—one featuring the Tyler family and the other the Drews. I was sad to say goodbye to them, but now she's back, and I couldn’t wait to dive right in.

We are introduced to the Capellos: Mama Sophia and her three children—Maria, Alex, and Antonio.

Maria actually leads a double life. She’s a successful lawyer by day and a formidable figure in the mafia world by night. Alex is the head of the "firm" and Antonio is often a loose cannon… Which, of course, makes him a danger—not just to his enemies, but also to those around him and to himself.

What I absolutely love about this author is that she doesn’t forget her ‘heroes’ from previous series, and often gives them a guest appearance in her newest one.

Is this a good first book? Absolutely! I enjoyed every word, every action, and every betrayal. Let’s face it—being betrayed is never fun, but when it’s by someone you know well and hold dear, it cuts so much deeper.

I can hardly wait for the next book to come out, and I'm counting down the days. Judging by the ending of this story, I'm already convinced we’re in for a treat. Amazing book, and once again I was sad when I finished it. The saying is correct: all good things come to an end. ;) 5 stars

Thank you.

Oh my goodness, Mrs T stand up and take a bow because this is a Masterpiece. Just when I thought you’d peaked, you come back with what is possibly a book of the year for me.

As a huge fan, this instantly shot to the top of my TBR. I saved this for an evening where I knew, I could delve between the covers and allow myself to become fully lost in the events unfolding.

Now, I LOVE Freddie, it’s no secret. I was nervous when Tallon rocked up with the Drews but also loved them. Now, we are introduced to the Capello family and I can’t lie, I NEED more. I honestly can’t wait. I need to know what is coming next.

This book is a complete masterpiece and everything that I’ve come to know and love about a Tallon book. I have no regrets in devouring this in just one sitting. I just need more.

Tallon is able to really pull the reader in and keep you hooked. You feel as though you are watching the events unfold. I’m here for every nitty gritty moment that takes place.

Emma is a master of her craft and this book is testament to why she’s so fantastic. There is nothing negative I can say about this book. It’s a read worthy of all the praise and should be on everyone’s radar.

I’ll be recommending this to anyone and everyone who will listen.

It’s been a long time since I’ve sat on the edge of my seat, devouring a book like I just did! I found myself shocked and riveted right to the end. It was perfect blend of mystery and suspense. You won’t be able to put this down until you’ve finished!

I was hooked this book isn’t like any other suspense or thriller I have read. I just wanted to keep turning the pages the second I started! It was a great start to the The Capello Family Series. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Brilliant book. It took me a while to get used to the new characters, as I was so used to Drew. Yet, in classic Emma Tallon style, she included previous characters. Her books are so hard to put down, and I'm never able to predict what will happen next.
