Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf by Isabelle Taylor
Paranormal romance dual pov
Ebook & audio release date October 7th
Print release date March 24th
Luna is in Alaska for work and gets stranded there because of a snow storm. She finds an inn run my Oliver who is a werewolf. She finds a bottle on the counter and takes a drink. Unbeknownst to her it’s bond nectar and now she is married to Oliver even though she already has a fiancé Hector.
I didn’t like either of our main characters. I thought Luna was too flighty and Oliver was an extreme grump.
This book was not for me. Unlikeable characters and I just didn’t care about the plot.

This was cute and sexy. If you like your cozy romance on the spicier side, this delivered.
The premise is fun and a little wacky but that's what keeps this entertaining. I enjoyed the town and the characters. I thought Oliver and Luna were a good pair. The chemistry was there and their dynamic was classic grumpy x sunshine. There is another man, Luna's fiancé, but he doesn't really cause any issues since they are in an open relationship. This may or may not effect some reader's enjoyment of the romance. I was so/so on it. He just seemed too supportive of Oliver and Luna considering they were engaged. I think his character just came off as strangely accepting. There just didn't seem to be a conflict as to why they couldn't be together and needed the divorce flower so badly if her fiancé was fine with them being together.
The cover is eye-catching and captures the story well.
Otherwise this was a fun time.

***Thanks to the publisher for the e-ARC on NetGalley!***
This is a DNF for me at 28% and I’m going to explain why.
Maybe I’m not cut out for cozy romances. I don’t understand the boundaries the subgenre works in. A lot of stuff keeps getting brushed off like a cutesy moment that I would like them to address. But they don’t.
The FMC (Luna, yes she has a moon name) is a rich socialite from Los Angeles, engaged, and just wants to be taken seriously by her father (who is the CEO of their family company). She attends a work conference in Alaska, and on her way back to the airport, she winds up stuck in a monster-friendly town, Claw Haven, until the snow thaws.
The MMC (Oliver) is the owner of the only hotel in town and a werewolf who can’t shift. Except that part is a secret he’s somehow keeping from his extremely close-knit family who live in the hotel with him. His grandmother is the current alpha and he’s the next in line.
When Oliver accidentally drinks a magical werewolf bonding potion and Luna also drinks the random potion laying around thinking it’s alcohol, they are essentially werewolf married.
You do kind of have to go along with the story because no one’s really explaining how any of this works. And there is some magical divorce flower that can annul this but there’s a shortage and isn’t easily obtained of course. The premise is kind of cute? Who doesn’t like an accidental marriage?
I will say a pro for this book for me is that the publisher’s cover is really good and what initially attracted me to this book in the first place, and I don’t usually go for illustrated covers. The prose is also super easy to read.
However. We do need to talk about the fact that Luna is STILL ENGAGED. To her human fiancé, Hector. The thing is, he’s super chill and NICE. Everything just kind of rolls off him so maybe he’s too chill. Because we conveniently find out that him and Luna have an open relationship arrangement and she hooks up with other guys, and their whole thing is that they talk about it and they don’t fall in love with other people. RIGHT AFTER we find this out, Luna immediately jumps into bed with Oliver.
The bond they have pains them when they’re too far apart from one another and in other books, I think this premise could be super sexy. Except the entire time at the back of my mind, I keep wanting Luna to hurry up and break up with her fiancé. This would be easier to accept if Hector was awful, but he’s not. And I’m supposed to believe Oliver is so okay and believes Luna when she confesses she’s in an open relationship that he hears that and immediately has sex with her when not even an hour earlier they were arguing and haven’t known each other for 24 hours?
This all just happens SO fast. The sex scene here at the start is explicit but not entirely sensual in my opinion, but it happened. I’m not a fan of how this came about and how fast they got together. But YMMV.
I like grumpy Oliver because there’s an explanation to why he is the way he is now. And I was a fan of Luna until the throwaway line that’s totally not needed about her (accidentally) throwing out her college boyfriend’s grandfather’s ashes just because she’s vapid enough to want a vase for flowers she got herself celebrating her HALF birthday. My goodness. She doesn’t reflect on this or seem to feel bad about this at all. But this does make me hate her quite a bit.
I know this is an ARC, so maybe the version uploaded to NetGalley contains the previous self-published text and not the newly edited text because I hope this gets removed. It’s not needed and really chilled me on the character from that moment on.
Other edits I would expect to see is Los Angeles abbreviated as “L.A.” rather than the “LA” in this ARC because they don’t mean Louisiana. And also, if there’s no cell service and Luna didn’t download any offline maps, how did she navigate and find reviews on this Claw Haven hotel in the middle of nowhere? Makes no sense.
The ensemble of characters around town are actually pretty interesting, although there’s really no explanation how things work. Admittedly, the rest of the book could explain it and I just haven’t gotten to that part yet.
You have “monsters” like the werewolves who can shift between human and wolf forms. But then you also have a dragon and a hedgehog who are human sized but fully LOOK like what they are with wings, tails, scales, quills, muzzles, and all. It’s confusing. Maybe this is a norm in monster romances? I don’t know. I am not familiar. Most shifter books are characters that are either in human form or not. I’ve never read the ones being in monster form 24/7. I thought everyone would be vegan as a result but, no, they eat steak. So what are the world building rules? What is an animal you can eat vs what is not? I simply do not know.
The characters are nice and I like them. I assume the rest of the series takes place here in Claw Haven. This is a small town and they are busybodies but they mean well.
The book is easy enough to read. It is in dual alternating POVs and third-person past tense. I think readers who yearn for a cozy paranormal monster romance could really love this if the open relationship aspect of the FMC’s character is something the reader can overlook. It’s something I can go with in a dark romance because the “other guy” is usually terrible but poor Hector here is too nice and I don’t love the vibes the story leaves me with because it makes it impossibly hard to root for Luna and Oliver together as a result.

I love a werewolf romance — the bond, the connection, the protective instinct. I also love a grumpy MMC.
But i detested the bride’s family. I think the author did a wonderful job of depicting them & painting them in a semi-humorous manner (enough to be entertaining). But it pained me to read those shallow scenes.
I am so so excited for the next stories — especially Nick the orc’s & her brother Clancy’s
Thanking #NetGalley for this ARC

Isabelle has a new reader for life because let me tell you this was the funniest and most entertaining read I've seen in a while and it is such a breath of fresh air.

This was so cute. You don't even know. Claw Haven sounds like an absolute dream and I would absolutely love to visit.
Accidentally Wedded To A Werewolf was such a cozy and sweet read. Our FMC Luna (bit on the nose for a werewolf book lol) was definitely a vapid party girl, who discovers herself during her time married to our grumpy and closed off werewolf Oliver. The two's banter was a lot of fun, lots of arguing, lots of bickering and lots of giving in to the bond. Watching the two of them navigate the intense forced proximity (like he passes out if she's too far away) was funny.
For the Omega Verse besties- don't worry, it's there!!
Overall from the silly werewolf family and their adorable antics to the cute town with its grumpy dragon bookstore owner or shy hedgehog shifter chocolatier- this book was seriously a good time. If you are a fan of the Dream Harbour series or The Spellshop, I would highly reccomend!

Set in the fictional paranormal small town of Cozy Haven, Alaska, heiress Luna Stack accidentally bonds with inn keeper and werewolf Oliver Musgrove. Stuck together until the snow melts and their marriage bond can be undone, the two have to figure out how to live together in the meantime.
This was spicy and fun, a quick read! Both MCs grow throughout the book. Luna stands up for herself around her marketing passion. Oliver figures out how to be close to his family again after an incident a year prior. I look forward to reading more in this series!
My only hang up was the open relationship she had with fiancé Hector, which was just a personal issue for this reader. It was hard for me to see why he would be ok (and encouraging?) of Luna and Oliver. Though it was nice to see others in the town have similar hang ups. Plus I would have liked a longer epilogue, but it was such as sweet ending!
Read this romance for:
❄ Grumpy / Sunshine
❄ Forced Proximity
❄ Close knit family
❄ Finding your way
Open door / spicy!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this eARC!

What a charming easy read!
Ok, I admit I’m finding that I have a soft spot for werewolves and romances and then when you put them together, well, forget about it. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the family and the small town. I want to visit!
Luna did drive me a bit nuts. I wish she had more moments where she was able to drop her part-girl facade, but we get a peek at who she is underneath it all a few times, just not as much as I wanted.
This was totally the feel-good read I needed today.
My rating: 3.5 stars (so rounded to 4)

I really enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Luna and Oliver, this was a fun quick read that was perfect during the 100+ degree heatwave we are having. I loved this whole town, Oliver's family, and just all the side characters. This was my first book by Isabelle Taylor, and I am going to see if there are more set in this amazing Alaska town.

L.A heiress (Luna) meets small town handsome werewolf (Oliver).
It reads like a romcom movie. Cue fun banter, hilarious situation of accidental marriage, spicy scenes and struggles to overcome. Luna challenges her identity as a spoiled heiress, Oliver has a tough time with the past and they both have tension with how they feel about each other. Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf is enjoyable and charming with just enough emotional pull, like one of your favorite romcoms.
The setting is modern day world but with cozy town-folk monsters, like minotaurs, hedgehogs and orcs. You learn more about the whimsical town and the monsters that live there as the story progresses.
This read will give you feelings of giddiness and add a little spice to your life.

The atmosphere in this story was absolutely charming—warm, inviting, and whimsical in a way that made me wish I could pack up and move there. Imagine a quaint little town with all the cozy vibes and supernatural creatures lurking about? That’s a mix I didn’t know I needed. I especially enjoyed the close-knit pack dynamic. There’s something so comforting about the idea of being surrounded by a group of people who always have your back. Honestly, sign me up.
Now, Luna... wasn’t exactly my favorite. She came off a little too pampered and had that over-the-top, Valley Girl attitude that grated on me at first. That said, she did show some growth by the end and managed to shake off some of the immaturity. I have to admit, her back-and-forth with Oliver kept things entertaining. I’m a sucker for the classic grumpy/sunshine pairing, and they definitely delivered on that front.
There were a few plot points that felt off, though. One scene that had me raising an eyebrow was when Luna just casually drank a mysterious bottle of alcohol she found lying around at a random inn in remote Alaska—seriously, who does that? Also, the sudden shift from hostility to hooking up felt a bit jarring. I get the forced proximity trope, but the transition could’ve used more buildup. That said, their connection eventually felt more organic as they spent time together and started opening up.
The finale, though? Loved it. Watching Luna finally reclaim her agency and make bold choices was so satisfying. She realized her potential and didn’t let anyone hold her back anymore—I was mentally fist-pumping as she left that spa behind. And Oliver going full-on protective alpha mode? Yeah, that was definitely a highlight.
In the end, this book was a delightful and comforting escape, with just enough spice and heart to keep me hooked.

So, a little backstory. This book was independently published before it was picked up by Harlequin/Harlequin-Romance. First, I love the passion the author showed for her work and that so many others believed in her that she was able to publish it. Second, I am reviewing the copy of the book being released by Harlequin-Romance. Ok, now that we got that out of the way, let’s go.
TL/DR: So hopefully you have read the synopsis? Awesome! Now, if you love stories with grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, an accidental bonding, a FMC that comes into her own and a MMC that is poked and prodded gently out of his grumpy exterior, some spice and a sweet, cozy town filled with all kinds of paranormal creatures who don’t hide what they are, this may just be the book for you. I honestly loved it. I wholeheartedly recommend picking up a copy.
Now, if you are still reading what can I really say that the synopsis didn’t that won’t ruin the book for you? Umm, there is a super cute hedgehog who owns a chocolate store that makes chocolates that are werewolf safe. How sweet is that? From the descriptions I wish I could crawl into the pages or order some online.
There’s a bookstore owned by a grumpy dragon with a cat who has its own merchandise. I mean, come on!
Honestly, the relationship between the FMC, Luna and the MMC, Oliver is sugar and spice and grumpiness with a side of stubborn from both of them. Their relationship develops organically, even as the spice from their bond develops beside it.
I would like to thank the author, Harlequin-Romance and NetGalley for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and my review is voluntarily given. As always, I wish you happy reading!

This was OK! It was a little dry and needed a little more excitement, background, and chemistry. The writing style wasn't for me and I found myself falling asleep at times

Okay this was basically just Alexis Rose (Schitt's Creek) fanfic and I am here for it. Luna really rode the fine line between awful and endearing, so her redemption arc was even sweeter. Her poses and fake smiles made me want to throttle her, but it made me like her that much more when Oliver brought out her true personality. I cackled at the scene where Luna is trying to make Oliver a grilled cheese and her temper actually comes out. The smutty scenes ended up still feeling pretty emotional because of the way the bond works, so I think they enhanced Luna and Oliver's relationship instead of being a distraction.
A spoiled heiress gets trapped in a tiny Alaskan town for 2 months after accidentally bonding with a grumpy werewolf with trust issues. It's a pretty straightforward story that isn't super deep, but it is exactly what I wanted after reading several heavier books in a row. My only complaint about the book is that side characters were really only used for plot advancement instead of being standalone. We don't learn anything about the Musgroves other than they used to live in Arizona and Uncle Roy's past. How did Ben and Sabine meet? Why does Aunt Althea have a gold tooth? I assumed it was important because it was mentioned so many times, but I guess not. There were a lot of characters introduced that have no purpose, so I can only assume that this book will be a series and we will learn more about them in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Books, and Isabelle Raylor for the free eARC.

A charming blend of wit, whimsy, and supernatural romance, Accidentally Wedded to a Werewolf is delightfully unexpected. Isabelle Taylor delivers a clever, fast-paced story with just the right amount of tension and heart. The chemistry crackles, the humor lands, and the emotional moments hit with surprising depth. A quick yet satisfying read for fans of paranormal romance with a twist.
