If you enjoy an easy pace slow burn you will enjoy this story. As a first in a series we get to know Kelli and Nora as they navigate a new relationship by starting out as doctor/patient. This isn’t a typical medical or crime story, more like a personal journey for both of them as their walls slowly come down.
I look forward to reading the other books in this series, thank you Netgalley and Ylva Publishing for an ARC.

Very sloooooow burn romance. Maybe a little too slow. There were many, many times this romance could have....shall we say blossomed....before it FINALLY did.
The main characters are interesting...although Dr. Whitmore almost seemed "on the spectrum ".
The dialog is crisp and funny. Story interesting but not new.
Enjoyable read
I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review

Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for allowing me to read and review this book.
I very much enjoyed this book. The writing was great and the characters were well developed. I hope to read more from this author in the future.

I was really curious about this book as I just like cops and doctors mixing as most of the time they could not be more different.
This story is no different. Kelli is a detective with a hard exterior who takes no nonsense and speaks her mind. Nora is a surgeon who keeps to herself at work and privately making her seem very cold. For some reason these two are pulled towards each other.
I gotta say, I did not see it. Insta love is usually lost on me and this story is no different. I didn't see why they liked each other and I didn't feel it either. There was also a lot going on in their lives with work and family and both characters have some major psychological issues they should address before getting into something together. Although I do believe they can help each other heal there was very little dialogue making that connection.
It also took forever for them to act on their feelings so by the time something happened I had checked out.
An ARC was given to me via Netgalley in return of an honest review.

I enjoyed this, I liked the relationship. The Ice queen we see her walls come down, I also liked how this was new to them both. I did expect there to be a bit more cop and more medicine to this book. It was interesting to see there relationship grow whilst they both off work for different reasons. I enjoyed the relationship but that was the highlight.

The story begins with police detective Kelli McCabe being shot while on duty and taken to the hospital. There she meets Dr. Nora Whitmore, the attending surgeon. Nora is aloof and professional at all times and Kelli can’t help but push a few of her buttons. This is a slow burn story of two people letting down their barriers and becoming friends before they can become more. Usually in police/doctors romances there is a police case needing to be solved. That isn’t the case here. Kelli is firmly in an off duty recovery zone using crutches and attending physical therapy. But it is Nora who is thrown for a loop as a resident has made claims against her that could impact her career. Kelli is a friend to lean on and offer support.
I enjoyed this book. Evidently it originated as fan fiction of Rizzoli & Isles and knowing that I could see similarities of the MC’s backgrounds to the tv show. But the story is original and Nora is almost unlikeable; she is so closed off as the story begins. I enjoyed seeing her character change over the course of the story. This book was originally published in 2016 and is the beginning of a series of novels. I would like to find those books and see where is they take these characters. (3.5 Stars)

An enjoyable read with two very likeable characters. I loved the evident chemistry between Detective Kelli and Dr Nora.
I liked the pacing of the book did not feel like the romance was rushed, making this a great slow burn.
However, I wasn’t keen on the excessive swearing. I found it jarring at times and feel it wasn’t needed for the story to flow.

Thank you NetGalley, Ylva Publishing and KD Williamson for the eARC of this book.
A slow burn romance between a doctor and cop? Yes please. An instant attraction between two head strong women. The side characters make it feel like your reading a tv show.

I got hooked for this book after reading the blurb for it. I went in with some expectations and some were met, others were left hanging a little.
Kelli, one of our main characters, lands herself in the hospital after a scuffles with a perp on the scene. She and her partner got shot on the job. Even though Nora is not Kelli's doctor, they do connect however and they both find themselves questioning their feelings for one another. All of this while a legal battle rages on in their lives.
When reading I had so much fun with the banter in this book. The relationship between Nora and Kelli flows naturally, without rushing into it too fast. This was a nice break from books where the romance seems to be there immediately. This book definitely could be categorised as a slow burn, as well as a strangers to friends to lovers.
I got to say that besides Nora's seemingly cold behaviour towards others, you still felt for her when things started to go sideways in her life. Which means the author balanced her character well.
The witty Kelli was also so much fun to read, and though I love a potty mouth, someone needs to tell her to chill a little with the expletives. You also have to know your abbreviations, because they are riddled in this story, often without explanation, which took me out of the book a little sometimes because I had to google them. And I also noticed Rader's name was at one point (that I noticed) written as Radar instead.
I really ended up enjoying this book as a slow burn romance, even though it had some downsides and little mistakes.
And at last I want to thank Netgalley, Ylva Publishing and KD Williamson for the eARC of this book. You can already check out the next books in the series too if you're interested!

“Blurred Lines” is a slow burn romance about a cop and a doctor. Two strong personalities clash and that alone gave the book really great potential. However, it was no more than okay.
Kelli and her partner Travis are shot on a mission and are hospitalized. Both have multiple gunshot wounds and undergo surgery. Nora, a determined doctor who loves her job more than anything, literally stumbles into Kelli's case. A short time later, Nora is sued by two colleagues and accused of sexual harassment. Kelly and Nora slowly grow closer and give each other support during this difficult time.
Kelli and Nora really were two power women. Very different, but they both knew what they wanted. The attraction was clearly noticeable and the slow burn really runs through the entire book. However, I have to admit that I didn't connect with the story. I didn't like either Nora or Kelli. They were unlikeable, which is why I couldn't really enjoy the romance. Nora was too closed off for me and seemed like a block of ice almost until the end. Kelli, on the other hand, couldn't formulate a sentence without using curse words. The surrounding stories also made it hard for me to read the book to the end. It didn't touch me that much and that's why I can only give it 3 stars.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me an ARC.

4.5 ⭐️ Didn’t know I needed a cop/doctor romance in my life, but I did! The way the plot was laid out was not what I expected and I loved it. It was so much more than just a cop and doctor falling in love. There is a second book coming out that I hope continues to tell what happens to the characters. KD makes you care not only about the MCs but the side characters as well. There were some strings that still needed to be tied up at the end with one particular side character. Also something super picky and it may just be a “me” thing, but we never get told how old the MCs are and idk, I want to know.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Blurred Lines by KD Williamson was such a satisfying read for me. If you’re into character-driven romances with slow-building tension, witty banter, and a good amount of emotional complexity, Blurred Lines is definitely worth picking up. It left me smiling, a little emotional, and very glad I gave it a read.

Apparently I’ve been living in some sort of grotto and missed this book when it was first published in. 2016. And what a shame that is, I could have enjoyed the witty banter and fun characters in this book a lot sooner.
This book started off as a Rizzoli & Isles fanfic, another reason I should have discovered it sooner. I love Rizzoli & Isles! Anyway, quirky characters, fun banter, story bit stretched in the middle section, but I highly recommend. I’ll surely be reading the other books in this series.

Blurred Lines by KD Williamson is a slow-burn, character-driven romance that expertly balances tension, vulnerability, and emotional growth. Detective Kelli MacCabe and surgeon Nora Whitmore may come from vastly different worlds, but both are driven, guarded women who put duty above desire—until a tragic event forces their paths to cross. What begins as an uneasy alliance evolves into a friendship layered with unspoken attraction, challenging both women to confront their emotional walls. Williamson crafts complex, relatable characters whose chemistry feels earned. With its mix of sharp dialogue, heartfelt moments, and a thoughtful exploration of trauma and connection, Blurred Lines is a rewarding read for fans of emotionally rich, opposites-attract romances.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book
a doctor and detective ... what could go wrong ....
kelli was bored... she had been shot and had survived but being in hospital was driving her up the wall... and people were keeping things from her.... she was a bit of a potty mouth and loved making the nurses uncomfortable but she needed to know stuff...
dr nora whitmore didnt suffer fools gladly and her reaction to kelli and her potty mouth was weird but they soon had an understanding kelli would try to get a reaction out of nora and nora would try not to react....
with a sexual harrassment case being brought to the hospital and dr whitmore being suspended whilst under investigation it was up to kelli to help out
not a bad read love a good hospital drama and this helped that craving... nora and kelli were an interesting pair both strong in their professions and supportive of each... really good storyline for them both

Cops and Docs series (book one) off to a fantastic start
This story is easy to read, high on drama with loads of witty banter between characters and sizzling chemistry between Nora and Kelli. I look forward to reading the entire series and getting to follow these characters around a little longer in the two books that follow.
Kelli loves to banter and often comes across a rude or brash even though she is capable of being polite when she feels like it; I didn’t like her much in the beginning of the story or the way she treats Nora and others but she grew on me (it’s very much like Jane and Maura’s interplay on the TV show ‘Rizzoli and Isles’ TV show). Her family is boisterous and playful, her relationships with her current and former partners on the police force reveal more about Kelli’s personality and feelings which she often tries to hide. Some of the conversations between her current partner Travis and Kelli would easily qualify as shop talk, not politically correct to anyone listening in on them, and Kelli has a definite ‘potty mouth’ as her brother calls it; she is a smartass and some readers may find her unappealing for those reasons. Nora is more straitlaced, clinical, aloof, literal and unintentionally hilarious with the blunt things she says to colleagues who try to ruffle her feathers. There are hospital politics at play in this story as I had expected but tons of laughs to offset that and other dramas happening in the story to keep it interesting.
It’s very slow burn between Nora and Kelli and understandably so given the drama swirling about in each of their lives, but reading their relationship develop slowly from strangers to friends is very satisfying. I wondered more than once if the story was inspired in part by ‘Rizzoli and Isles’ or was previously an AU type fanfiction story for the Rizzles relationship given some of the similarities (which may appeal to fans of the show and the Rizzles pairing in general); there are enough differences between the show and this book however for it not to be a carbon copy, and to be a compelling read in its own right. If anything it’s an improvement on the TV show in terms of telling a gripping story with the right balance of comedy and drama, along with some mystery and romance tossed in; where the show was lacking, this story is not and I hope the remaining books in the series only build on that foundation in every way. I am eager to read the rest of the Cops and Docs series (book two is out now and book three will be out later this later) to see where the story and characters go from here.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
