There have been a lot of timeloop romances lately, and I'm not objecting, they've all been really well done. Not You Again adds a twist to it with the whole town taking part in the loop. The tension isn't as present for the reader (of the romance novel that will have a HEA) as the characters in the book, but it was still nicely done, and I enjoyed it quite a lot.

Wow! Damn! This one will stay with you. It was heartbreakingly beautiful. I smiled. I laughed. I cried. my emotions were being played with and torn apart in the best way possible. Erin La Rosa definitely knows how to pull on the heartstrings and I’m not mad it at. It’s truly an amazing work of art!

This was a cute little story. A little slow to start, but I ended up really caring for the main couple and even being a bit distraught when the two are separated.
I’m not always a fan of time travel or time loops or the like but I thought this was done really well - I liked how the entire town experienced the loop and it wasn’t just one person experiencing it on their own over and over while no one else knew it was happening. It was a good take on the genre and made it more interesting.

This one will stay with you; grief, and love, and time loops.
Carly and Adam are absolutely a love story you’ll want to read, but more than them together, the journeys they take for themselves is so so good.
I laughed, I cried, I cried some more. I couldn’t put it down, read it cover to cover in one sitting.

I was hooked into this book when I started reading it. I loved the magical realism element of it meets Groundhog Day. I was curious to see how the loop would end. I was excited to keep going back to read this story to see how it’d end. I will I did not like the ending or how the loop just ends. There wasn’t a real explanation of why, there were just theories. It seemed like it lead up to this big reason of why just for it to end with them theorizing why. That is why Igave this 3 stars (3.75), for the ending. Thank you to NetGalley and Canary Street Press for this ARC.

A quick sweet read, but felt very insta-lovey. I LOVED the idea of the premise of the book. A magical realism trope is always my vibe and I adored the idea of the entire town knowing and being stuck in it. It was so fun and I would have loved to explore that more. I think my issue stemmed from the fact that Carly and Adam essentially avoid each other for over 200 days and then like 10 days after they start hanging out they decide they’re in love. I thought Carly was kind of rude thinking Adam was overreacting about his wife cheating on him with his best friend??? And I didn’t understand the “enemies” to lovers trope when I wasn’t quite sure why these two were enemies in the first place. I loooved the exploration of the parental and family relationships in the book and I really did enjoy the premise I just wish I felt any sort of chemistry between Carly and Adam but it just fell flat for me. Thank you for the arc!

Thanks @netgalley for the chance to read and review Erin La Rosa's next rom-com, "Not You Again." It releases on November 11, 2025.
In the fictional town of Julian, CA, every day is April 23rd after the town and its residents somehow get caught in a time loop during a solar eclipse. Aspiring screenwriter Carly has to relive her Dad's memorial service every time they reset and keeps running into funeral director Adam who is infuriating and infuriatingly attractive. With nothing but time, Carly does a good deed every loop and Adam studies the eclipse. But when they start the develop feelings for each other, the eclipse starts to shorten. Could it be evidence that they are in a wormhole and will cease to exist? Or is it a sign that they might finally be free from the loop?

Not You Again was such a fun and unique rom-com. Carly is stuck reliving her dad’s funeral on repeat until she discovers Adam, the funeral director, is also trapped in his own worst day. They start off clashing, but watching them team up and grow closer was really sweet.
I loved that the time loop wasn’t just for laughs but gave the story real heart. The characters’ quirks and weirdness made them feel so real and added to their charm. The romance felt genuine, and the mix of humor and emotion kept me hooked. The only thing that pulled me out of the story were the repeated “my ADHD brain” comments, which felt distracting. Otherwise, it was a great read that stood out from a typical rom-com.

I received an eARC of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was cute. I like the science fiction of the time loop and how it seems to correlate with the eclipse. I don't really feel like we ever actually found out what definitively caused the loop to start or to end for that matter. I feel like we were left with those questions as well as what happened to certain individuals at certain points (that's the best way to say it without spoilers). I like both Adam and Carly as characters and I thought they were great for each other. They kind of balanced each other out with the optimism and seriousness. I think Adam helped Carly confront things she'd been avoiding and Carly helped Adam confront the people he'd been avoiding. I found the spicy scenes a bit unnecessary to be honest and I feel like the story would have been just as good without them. Overall a cute book and I would rate it a 3.5 simply because I wouldn't re-read it but I will be recommending it to people that like a little sci-fi and romance. I also liked whatever was happening with Heather and Rick! I'd read that book for sure!

I’m such a huge fan of a time loop story and this one was fun because everyone in the town knew, not just the main characters, so that was a fun change! Poor Carly wakes up to one of the worst days of her life every single day, her dad’s funeral adam is the funeral director and him and Carly hate each other, but they have to work together to solve the mystery and break the time loop. But the tension! Whew! Hot hot hot! Really enjoyed this one!

I really enjoy time loop tropes and this one had a very unique spin with the entire town being stuck in a time loop and not specific characters. I really enjoyed that the main characters were both dealing with grief and trauma, but started off hating each other. I really enjoyed all of the side characters and how quirky the town was and that every day something ridiculous would happen because everybody’s stuck in a time loop so why not. I loved the main characters trying to solve why the time loop was shortening and it seemed like it had to do with Their interactions and also healing from their traumas. The ending was very cute and had a bittersweet moment that left me in tears.

2⭐️
I was not expecting this book to be an entire town living in grounds hog day watch living their worst day over and over again. While being fully aware of it at the same time.
This just was not enjoyable and got old very fast. I was over it before it ever begun. This book unfortunately was not for me.

Ground hogs day but everyone knows it’ll keep happening. The main characters relive their worst day of their lives over and over. I couldn’t get into this book. I wanted to like it but it’s missing something for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC!
I have a love and hate relationship with books that are romance and have a sci-fi aspect as it always leaves me wondering why things happened and I felt that a little here. I have read them in the past that I was able to overlook and love, being why I was excited to read this.
It was a fun quick read but the romance felt flat at times. A solid read!
This also remind of a movie with Andy Samberg called Palm Spring.

This is a solid 3.5 romance novel that had a fun premise. The romantic scenes are a little weird and sometimes the big plot/character flaws aren't really addressed and just linger out there, but I enjoyed the premise and the world building, and it definitely kept me interested.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley.

So you know what groundhogs day is? This reminds me of that. This isn’t the typical story I read, but it was cute. I’d give it a 3.5 ⭐️ rating. It kept my attention enough to keep reading, the characters were ok and the story was cute. It isn’t a book I’d say you have to read or you’re missing out but it’s a good, cute and easy read

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin trade Publishing for an ARC.
I have enjoyed a couple of DeLa Rosa’s books and is excited to receive an advanced copy of this new one. I was interested in the plot, the idea of time loops, and to see how it all played out.
I struggled with the main characters at first until truly seeing their flaws and finding them relatable.
Things that I enjoyed:
-enemies to lovers trope
-banter and chemistry
-spicy scenes
-unique story line
-interesting side characters
-unpredictable “third act breakup”
Things that could use a bit of work
-even after finishing the book, I can’t fully tell why Adam and Carly like each other beyond surface level things. I feel like depth could have been added for the love story to be more epic.
-the loop resolution felt really anticlimactic for me after all the build up
-the ending and epilogue felt rushed
-I know that this book asks us to suspend belief a lot but Carly and Adam don’t even engage until over 200 days into the loop. I find it hard to believe that no one in the town including the scientists banded together prior to this.
The plot and vibe was similar to an Ashley Poston novel if you’re into that!
3/5⭐️ for me

I picked up Not You Again by Erin La Rosa because of its adorable cover (seriously, how could I resist?), but what I got was so much more than just a cute romance. This book delivers laugh-out-loud banter, sizzling chemistry, and a surprisingly deep emotional core—all wrapped up in a clever time-loop premise that actually makes sense.
Unlike some time-loop stories where the mechanics are handwaved away, La Rosa’s characters actively try to solve their predicament with science, logic, and even a little desperation. And just when I thought I knew where the story was headed, the author introduced a fresh, unexpected variable that made me pause and go, “Wait… that’s genius.” (No spoilers, but trust me—it’s a game-changer.)
The romance? Chef’s kiss. The steam? Off-the-charts hot. The emotional payoff? Perfect. La Rosa balances humor and heartbreak so well that I found myself equally invested in the characters’ personal growth as I was in their steamy scenes.
If you love rom-coms with a sci-fi twist, Not You Again is a must-read. It’s smart, sexy, and impossible to put down—exactly the kind of book you’ll want to gush about to friends.

This book is unlike anything I’ve ever read. It was interesting but confusing at times. I’m not sure I know what happened, what caused the main issue, but maybe that’s what was meant to happen. They don’t know and we don’t know. I liked the characters and I liked the gradual love story. Overall a good read. I’m glad I stuck with it.

Groundhog day romance! Hate to grudging allies to lovers ++ set in a small town! I had so much fun reading this book ahhh
