TOKYO ALIEN BROS. has never purported to be lighthearted or happy - it's always been an examination of humanity through the eyes of two aliens who want to conquer us, after all. But this third and final volume takes things even darker than before, uncovering the horrors of sexual assault specifically and the horrors human can inflict upon other humans generally.
As our two brothers wonder what it might be like to be sisters, hoping to get a better understanding of the female of the species, outgoing Fuyunosuke gets in over "her" head with a scummy man. After seeing the dark underbelly of humanity, Fuyu is more than ready to torch the entirety of it. But changes are afoot for the mission, and right at a time when Natsutaro is starting to enjoy life as a human.
In these final chapters, the two brothers are the most human they've ever been: showing their love and understanding for each other, nursing deep and traumatic wounds, and learning what it means to truly support someone you care about. The airy ending somewhat undercuts the bittersweet upshot of the story, but the lessons of the short series still ring true.
