This book focuses on a father who seeks out revenge for his murdered daughter. The story is told through Drystan’s POV and starts off with the day of her disappearance and leads up to 2 years after her death. Throughout the book Drystan is reminiscent of his daughter and we get to see glimpses of who Alba was and how much her death destroyed her father. As the story progresses the need for revenge and justice for his daughter increases.
This book was so beautifully written and unique. It was interesting getting to see how his life was prior to losing his daughter and how drastically different his life is after her death. Tamel Wino did such an incredible job of provoking all sorts of emotions from the reader that Drystan was experiencing including rage, anger, desperation, and grief. Getting to read from the prospective of a grieving father who is revenge driven was extremely gut wrenching and devastating. Going into this book I knew it was going to be sad but it left me feeling devastated in the best way possible.
I can’t wait to read the future books in this series.
