This book was a great way to begin to shift mindsets on church leadership. The author does a tremendous job of helping people to see the importance of the APEST in our leadership of churches today. This book has th potential to be very helpful to many leaders who face the daunting task of leading.
The author does such a wonderful job breaking down how to begin to share leadership in healthy, God honouring ways that can be the foundation for the church to operate as it should, which is a disciple making community that isn't focused on one person. The authors experience with some of the issues of modern day biology issues that plague many denominations and fellowships is important to help bridge understandings.

Leadership is an important issue to have clarity on, especially for Christians who are seeking to be faithful. Every Christians are called to lead in some capacity: at home, at work, in church, in the community, and in the world. The author observed rightly that when leaders are proud or immature, that person will not be a good steward of that power that comes with the leadership position. I do differ from the author in a few areas, I can feel her pain when she is a woman, who is gifted with much spiritual gift, but is called to step down from leadership because she is a woman. I believe that the Bible teaches that men are called to lead the church as elders/pastors, But sadly, there are many men who are not qualified, or disqualified, to lead. And such men will abuse their power or hold on to their power rather than share it. The Bible's teaching on leaders is to serve as Jesus came to serve and not to be served. In order to serve the church, the elders need all the help they can get from the body that God has given spiritual gifts to. Yet, gifts and abilities are not the primarily qualification to leadership, as God has revealed to us His design for how the family and the church is to be led.
