It took me a while to get into this book and, through extra circumstances, I never quite managed to get fully involved in the story line. I’d like to read it again because I don’t feel it was the fault of the book

This book was a joy to read from the beginning to the end. I loved the storyline and how the characters had a lot of depth and background.
The story is about two unlikely women falling in love while they try to solve a potential mystery. I have to admit that the mystery captivated me from the beginning and had me trying to work out what happened alongside the characters. However the best part about the book was seeing how Cappy and Jazz try to ignore their feelings but fail spectacularly.
Throughout the book, it also became clear to me that this was a book in a series/universe, however it can easily be read as a standalone, as the author made sure not to assume you had read the previous two books and thus gave all the information you needed to really enjoy the book. The only downside of this being part of a ‘series’ is that I now have to update my to buy booklist, having only just stopped myself from immediately buying the other two books.
I definitely loved this book and these are an easy 5 stars for me to give.

I love procedural stories, and Walsh has written some wonderful stories. I might have a “but” here though. Yes, this is fiction and yet there is always creative license, yet I felt some of the procedural side of the plot was a little out there. It isn’t that I didn’t enjoy the story, I did. The characters were interesting and fun. The dialogue was witty and reflective of characters’ personalities. No spoilers—ever.
And it is entirely my perspective; it may not even be on your radar when you read. If you are a fan of this author, as am I, don’t let my “but” make you hesitate. Just sayin’.
As always, any opinions are voluntary and exclusively mine!

I didn't know that this book was the third part of the Campus Police series. But it reads well as a stand-alone book. The first two books are about the other two couples who also appear here.
This time, the story revolves around Cappy, who is back after a few weeks away and her grandfather's funeral, and Jazz, a librarian with a special flair for decorating her office. In this short time, a lot has changed in Cappy's personal life, and she has to get used to it all again.
Brian, a talented football player who was forced to completely change his life after a traffic accident, is found dead. Initially, it is classified as suicide, but Jazz insists on a more thorough investigation of the case, as she is convinced that Brian was looking forward to the future despite adverse circumstances. Cappy is assigned to determine whether it was a crime. The interviews Cappy conducted to uncover all the circumstances and background information were interesting. However, I found it a little strange that a civilian was allowed to attend these interviews.
Jazz and Cappy have mutual friends who are all professionally involved with the campus. The banter between them is amusing, and the romance between Cappy and Jazz is nice and sweet.
An easy-to-read book with amusing and likable characters, good and witty dialogue, and some suspense.

This is the 3rd book in the series.
I had not read any of the others before I got this - but I read them to see what I had missed out on.
It's quite a nice idea. It's not quite a police procedural, but also not quite a cosy mystery.
The set up is the same in each book.
A potential crime occurs. The university police have to take a look and the lead detective teams up with one of a small group of academic staff friends to look at it. They then go on to live happily ever after, and solve the crime on the way.
I may well have appreciated the series more if I hadn't read the 3 books in 3 days.
My only concern - there are 3 cops, there were 4 women. What happens to Ari? Will there be a book 4? a new cop?

To switch up my readings I decided to pick up this book and read some murder mystery tale. Ok, that's a stretch but lets go with it.
Jazz is a library director and when one of the students that studies in her library unexpectedly dies, she is not convinced his death was a suicide. She marchers over to the police station on campus to get the police department to investigate his death.
Cappy is the police officer Jazz runs into at the station and despite not really believing it's murder, she gives Jazz the chance to share her thoughts.
Fast forward to the captain letting Cappy open an investivation and for some reason Jazz is allowed to be part of the investigation even sitting in on some interviews.
It started off good, kinda mysterious but the story dragged on for me both about the investigation as the budding romance between Jazz and Cappy. it left me a little underwhelmed.
An ARC was given to me via Netgalley in return of an honest review.

‘Big Corpse on Campus’ is the third book in the University Police series, and while returning characters do appear, it’s written in a way that doesn’t feel much out of place even if you haven’t read the previous ones. There were a few moments where I felt like I was missing some context, but it wasn’t overwhelming. The friend group is intriguing and added some warmth to the story.
A student’s dead body is found in his room. Because his promising football career had ended due to an accident, the police suspect suicide. But library director Jasmine “Jazz” Harold, who had grown close to him after his injury, isn’t convinced. Though she usually avoids the police, especially after they temporarily shut down her beloved library after the last incident, she’s determined to get answers. The officer she turns to, Cappy Flannery, is skeptical. To her, it simply looks like a young man who couldn’t cope with losing his future. But when her sergeant, who knows Jazz through their friend group, tasks her with this investigation, Cappy starts digging. Reluctantly at first, but thoroughly all the same.
The focus of the book is mainly on the crime mystery, with the romance staying more in the background. I didn’t quite vibe with how the relationship between Cappy and Jazz developed - some actions felt sudden and impulsive - but their chemistry was visible. I genuinely enjoyed the dry humor, the banter and how well they understood each other. I really appreciated no unnecessary drama between them.
Cappy’s internal conflict, though understandable, the mixed signals she kept sending Jazz made me like her a bit less at times. Both characters are overall likable and engaging.
The thing that didn’t sit well with me was the sudden POV shift to Clare and Libby’s. It didn’t add much to the story and simply felt out of place.
Overall, this is a great crime mystery, with just a touch of slow-burn sapphic romance, good amount of humour and well-written characters. The writing is clear and enjoyable. It can be read as a standalone.
I received an ARC of this book from Bold Strokes Books and NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I found this story to be more of an overview of friendships rather than a murder investigation. Too much banter between the group of friends. And I had difficulty keeping track of who was dating who.
I just didn't find it very interesting as a mystery.
I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book seems right up my alley when I read the synopsis. However, when I was about half way through the book, I realized that I did not truly care about the main characters or why the corpse ended up on campus. I'm not certain why that happened. I did not have a problem with the writing, but it must have been the development of the characters. I did not finish the book.

This was such an atmospheric, fun & cute, darling book that gives the vibe of Holly Jackson but make it sapphic

I have not read the other books of this series so I felt like i was missing some past context. I was hoping for more of a mystery it felt like the book didn't focus too much on the murder and more on the romance. It also felt like all the information was giving at the end instead of a build up. On the other note I felt like the relationship between Jazz and Cappy was alright but again felt no build up and was instant attraction and then one minute saying they wont date then going right into it. I also felt like Jazz added nothing to the investigation so it felt kinda of pointless for her to be part of it and I didn't really understand her connection with the murder victim there was no real relationship between them for her to care so much. The plot just felt a little generic.

I love this series and this is an excellent addition to it. This book follows Cappy, Clair's partner from the first book. A fellow campus police officer who has come back from bereavement to find a lot has changed in her absence. Her partner is studying to be a lieutenant, Sargent Kent is looking to move up and has found love, and her grandmother has moved in with her. To add to it, the head Librarian Jasmin, who happens to be best friends to Clair and Kent's lovers, believes a recent suicide was actually murder. As the two work together to solve what happens, their determination to not fall in love is put to the test.
I really enjoy this series. I liked the first two books and this was a wonderful addition. I particularly like how the story unfolds with the case. Without spoiling anything, I liked how it kept you guessing and wondering where it will go, as well as how hard it is to truly know someone. I the mystery was fun to follow along and the romance was cute, especially with Tig and Libby coming back and their connection to the police.
I highly recommend reading this if you are fans of mystery with romance and if you enjoyed the first 2 books. It is not strictly needed to read the other books, but it gives a lot more context to the relationships.

Third in this series of campus novels featuring a groups of sapphic friends, some of whom are the campus police. This novel focuses on Cappy just back from her gramps funeral and Jazz the Viking librarian with an axe on her office wall. Jazz is a wonderful character and it is great to see her have her turn to be featured in these books, she is funny, clever, caring and the banter between her and Cappy is great fun. Cappy is quieter, unfazed and intrigued by the Viking who insists the star player's death was absolutely not a suicide. An enjoyable crime story with great friendship between all the characters.
With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Pretty good murder mystery, with a bit of romance thrown in. The college setting was a great backdrop for this story. The main characters were well written , and had great chemistry. I felt that this book was more of a murder mystery than a romance, there's quite a bit of sleuthing going on. I like that the author brought in characters from previous books, it was fun catching up with how their doing. Also this felt like a very slow burn getting to know you kind of romance between the main characters. This was an enjoyable book to read, and one I would recommend.

This is the third in the University Police Series from Karis Walsh. I’ve read and enjoyed the previous two books. You could read this book on its own, as there is catching up on who is with whom, but I’d recommend reading from the beginning of the series. And even thought there is a death, these books are surprisingly fun.
A student who was once destined for pro football league is found dead in his room and it looks like suicide. But library director Jasmine (Jazz) Harold who had befriended him doesn’t believe it. She asks her friend, the police sergeant if someone can investigate. Cappy Flannery, a University police officer, gets assigned to it while waiting for Seattle police findings. Jazz asks to tag along with Cappy on some of her investigative interviews. Cappy and Jazz are delightful as they banter and get to know each other better. Jazz’s friend group is intermigled with the university police now because of the romances from the previous books. And these are the kind of people you want to be friends with. Supportive, teasing, and welcoming.
There are only a couple of possible suspects so the mystery isn’t ovally complex. It is more following along as they investigate. Cappy was a standout character whom I mentioned by name in my review of the first book, so I was happy to see her get her gal. And Jazz is fantastic as the strong librarian. Karis novels stay in the PG range for intimacy but the kissing is hot. I hope this series isn’t finished.

Thank you NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books, Inc. for allowing me to read this book early.
This is the third instalment of the University Police Series but can be read as a standalone. However those who have not read the other books in the series may feel they are missing something due to characters and relationships appearing from previous books.
Jazz is an University Librarian who believes that the police report for a former college footballer's suicide is wrong and enlists the help of office Cappy to investigate his death.
This story did start slow at the beginning and it did take time for me to really get into the story but eventually the story found its rhythm and I ended up enjoying it. I love a cozy mystery story and the romance between Cappy and Jazz was entertaining as well.

This can be read as a standalone novel, but I do feel like I missed something with not reading the previous books even with the summary at the beginning which honestly was a lot and unnecessary as this can be read by itself.
This book follows the police detective, Cappy and Jazz who is a librarian. This is a slow burn, suspenseful, mystery book that had its ups and downs. Some of it was unbelievable and others it was just hard to get into it. It had some twists and turns, but I couldn't relate to the characters or really even the story. It was a struggle to finish. Maybe others enjoyed it, but I didn't.

I believe this is the third installment of the ‘ University Police Series’ and the best part of a series like this is the reader gets to meet up with the cast of characters from Ms Walsh’s first two books.
The first book introduced us to a group of professors, four to be exact and in each book we get to read about romance and crime.. The University Campus Police are the ones these professor’s turn to when there is unfortunately a murder on campus.
This time it’s Professor Jazz Harald that seeks the help of the police when one of the students she knows has decided to end his own life. Jazz doesn’t believe the police reports so she reaches out to the campus police, Officer Cappy Flannery. Cappy has read the report herself, even visited the apartment where the young student lived. She agrees with the report but she also reluctantly agrees with Jazz the case should be investigated.
If you have read the first two books then you’re in for a treat, if you hadn’t read the first two books you might find yourself lost because Walsh brings in everyone or so it seems from the two stories. It might be a good idea to read the first two. Very enjoyable read.

This is the third book in the series. In this installment, Cappy investigates the suicide of the star football player. Jazz, the librarian and a member of Libby's friend group, does not believe it was a suicide and is assisting Cappy with the investigation. I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first two; the pace was slow at the beginning, but it improved towards the end. Although this book can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the series in order. Overall, I would still recommend this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC 💕
This is a mystery/romance following Cappy (a police officer at the university) and Jazz (the librarian) investigating the death of a former athlete student, who is assumed to have taken his own life.
I liked the characters, with Jazz being my personal favourite with her optimistic and inquisitive mindset. I was also pleasantly surprised that this was sapphic?!? However, I feel the romance was unnecessary and the plot could have benefited from following Jazz’s perspective as opposed to being third person switching between both our main characters. I feel like their romance came out of nowhere and seeing one of them slowly realising there’s an attraction would have helped that element of the plot. I also think seeing Jazz doing research on her own would have been cool.
