This was so much fun! The blind date structure moved the story along nicely and Asil is just so much to hang out with. He is beautiful and he knows it which should be annoying, but ends up being hilarious and endearing,. The ending felt sudden, I want more of those two and the Lioness definitely needs to come back and bring her back story with her. Will certainly re-read when this comes out.

Asil, a werewolf, has been tricked into going on 5 blind dates by an anonymous "friend". They've also started a betting pool. This is the start of a howling good read, because of course none of the dates go as planned. Enjoyed the book, and can recommend it for urban fantasy readers.

Blind Date with a Werewolf by Patricia Briggs is freaking fantastic. The book follows my favorite werewolf from the Mercyverse, Asil. Asil is being set up on five blind dates by a "concerned friend" since he apparently doesn't get out much. Asil quickly finds out that the dates are more than what he was expecting and action packed chaos ensues.

It is very hard to describe this book without giving any spoilers but I will say, I was a little worried given the title. I know, I'm a fake fan lol but I learned that I should never doubt Patricia Briggs because this book was an absolute action packed collection that is so worth the read. I particularly enjoyed the guessing game of victim and perpetrator that happened through the whole book. I loved the fourth date so much and the epilogue was absolutely phenomenal to help us learn more about the Mercyverse. I guess my only real complaint is that I wish it were longer or that we get more installments because I enjoyed this so much.

I highly recommend this book to anyone because I don't think there is any lore. The book is also a good samaritan action packed urban fantasy with no spice so if you enjoy that in particular you will like this but I think anyone who likes action would love this book. I am hoping that we get to see more of Asil's story because I am so interested! What an absolute treat this book was.

Thank you to NetGalley, Berkley Publishing Group | Ace, and Patricia Briggs for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I'm so excited to see Asil's stories collected in a book of their own and to have two more stories as well! I've been reading his adventures in online dating as the stories came out and they are awesome. Just like Asil. Getting to know him a little bit more and meet new characters while he cleans up pockets of evil make this a very fun read. If you have enjoyed him as a character in the Alpha and Omega series, you will very much like this book.

Blind Date with a Werewolf by Patricia Briggs, for anyone who read the first short story in this book and have not read the rest, you will want to read the rest. Briggs is an awesome storyteller who keeps good pace with the books.

Asil the Moor, a centuries old werewolf, is set up on 5 blind dates by concerned packmates who want to find him new friends... and pull his tail. But each of these blind dates becomes a particular disaster, not just awkward social moments, but blood, monsters and fights to the death.

Why I started this book: So excited since I've reread the three previously published short stories and was thrilled to receive and ARC.

Why I finished this book: Asil, has grown on me, as we have discovered his backstory and seen him progress as a character. And the bud of a relationship hinted at, is fertilized in the new short stories making my heart go "squee." Charming, delightful and like all of Brigg's work, it leaves me wanting more and ready to reread what she has already published. On a side note, I love that Briggs writes short stories in anthologies, and then periodically publishes all her short stories in a book. It makes it so much easier to find them again in my digital library. Plus, she always adds a few more never published stories to the collection.

Really glad to see this compilation finally. I'm going to have to reread the second date though. I felt like I missed something.

This book made me feel everything. I went in expecting a fun set of stories but ended up with something so much more intimate and unexpectedly moving. The writing has this warmth to it that made me feel like I was sitting beside old friends. I loved how each story showed a different piece of Asil, not just the deadly wolf but the man who still wants to believe in something good. The moments of awkward flirting and tentative trust made me ache in the best way. There is something incredibly romantic about watching someone who has almost given up on joy try to let it back in; slowly and carefully. Honestly. It left me full of affection and just a little bit undone. I loved every piece of it.
