This book may seem like just another mafia type romance book but it isn’t. It’s all about saving the FMC’s sister and the sacrifices she is willing to make to get her safe. It’s an impossible task but she will do anything to save her. Even die. Luckily there is another option… a very attractive hot man who has it out for the same man who hold her sister captive. They have to work together without getting distracted or failing their mission. Can they do it?

There is spice and he definitely is the type to fall first and be a little obsessed with her. 🤷🏻‍♀️

4.5✨ I really really enjoyed this books nothing like a mafia book to get you out of a read slump!! Our Fmc Kira was a fighter who was very reliable as in would do anything to protect the one she’s loves and even admits she’s scared for herself which be honest we all would be!! I loved our Mmc Bodhi was very possessive (but not in a controlling way thank god) his relationship with his brother (who’s not his brother) Finn and his sister Sunny was nice to see. Overall I highly recommend this book and really looking forward to reading the next one 😍

I’m in my dark mafia romance era and Sweet Chaos delivered everything I crave! From the moment Kira was sent to seduce a hitman and Dex flipped the entire mission on its head, I was hooked. The tension was explosive and the chemistry was off the charts. This had all my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, betrayal, and that delicious “touch her and die” energy that owns me every time. If you’re a dark romance girlie who lives for sharp tension, and morally grey men, Sweet Chaos will wreck you in the most satisfying way.

I’m a big fan of dark mafia romances and this one didn’t disappoint for me. I loved the story starting off with Kira’s backstory right away and then slowing down a bit while we meet Dex. To me the pacing felt right because it let their relationship build as they transition from enemies to lovers.

I enjoyed the overall storyline of this book. There are some twists and turns as the characters are keeping secrets from one another. But ultimately they do get their HEA.

Overall, I think this is a good start to a new series of books and I’m looking forward to the next book. I recommend checking this book out if you’re in need of a mafia romance!

I was initially excited to read "Sweet Chaos" because I am a dark romance girlie and I enjoy the mafia subgenre, but the book fell flat for me. As this is my first NetGalley review, I will try to go into detail without including spoilers.

I appreciated Kira and Dex's shared goal of avenging their families. Kira was determined to take care of her family despite the odds stacked against her and all the obstacles thrown at her. I also liked Dex's personality. He was a smug and cocky womanizer, but I love those kinds of male characters when executed properly and I think the author did a good job of demonstrating his personality.

However, there were several reasons why I didn't vibe with this book. First, I personally feel that the blurb did not match the actual storyline of the book. That was a bit disappointing and rather confusing as I read. The writing style didn't click for me. There were a few times where characters didn't stay true to their personalities, such as when Kira called the head of the mafia, "boss." It felt out of character in that she only said it to introduce who the leader was for the sake of exposition. I'm also the type of reader that loves insta-love and/or insta-lust, but it felt like the attraction happened so quickly in the beginning of the story. Why would Kira be thinking about having sex with Dex (and him with her) in their very first meeting which involved lots of stress and gunfire? Like that would have been the last thing on my mind in that scene. It often felt like lust got in the way of their motives.

In addition, descriptions and actions were repetitive in the sense that sentences had three clauses. For example: "They knew the timing, the location, my name" and "her bruising lips, thrusting tongue, and biting teeth." Once I noticed the pattern, my brain wouldn't stop pointing it out and it took away from my enjoyment. Occasionally, extra commas were used and strange word choices were made to the point where I researched the words to make sure they were being used correctly.

Even though "Sweet Chaos" wasn't a hit for me, I can definitely see this being loved by readers who enjoy a mafia romance book with lots of action and spice that is easy to digest. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this early.

Mafia romances are right up my alley and for the most part, I enjoyed this one. However, I thought that the story started off slow and I thought that there was a lot of information that wasn't provided to the reader that made it hard to connect with the characters. For example, why was Kira's grandfather betrayed in the first place--was it because Nikolai didn't want her to take over the Bratva or simply because Kira entangled herself to try to stop their human trafficking operation? Why was Yelena basically helpless when Kira found her--didn't even say anything to her, was literally like a statue? How did Kira learn her fighting skills? I just felt like the characters lacked a little more of the depth necessary to be able to fully connect to them and be invested in the reasoning behind their actions and the ultimate outcome.

I enjoyed Bodhi and Kira's love story, and while I also felt like it lacked a little depth, the last half of the book really helps the reader see why they connect so much with each other. The chemistry between them was very tangible, which I liked--FYI, this is an open-door romance. I really just wanted to see both of them, and their love, developed a little more. Overall, I thought that this was a fun read and would recommend for a summer read while sitting at a pool or heading out on a road trip.

The story starts off strong with a flashback of a event that changes Kira's life. Then jumps into current times. Out to get information, she has a run in with Dex. He is instantly fascinated with Kira. This is a dark mafia story. Both characters are desperate to get what they need done, even if it means lying. Kira being part of the Russian Bratva family, won't trust easily, but slowly Dex brings her walls down.

Sweet Chaos is right, after so many lies and twist and turns. There are times when the story started feeling a little slow, but quickly picked up again. I am reading for the next book in November to see what happens next.

Dex (Bodhi Decker) is our male main character and is a hitman…and Kira’s target. She has to get rid of Dex for the sake of her family and herself, but things get complicated. I loved how badass Kira is and how Dex just met his match and is unsure how to handle it. I enjoyed this book and it was a pretty quick read. It also had some mystery/suspense going on that made you want to keep reading.

Loved how badass the fmc was. Was suspenseful and a bit dark without the relationship having much darker themes. intruiging start to a series and liked the dynamic of the couple. not quite 4 stars for me but I recommend it anyway.

This novel is very enticing from the get-go. The cover really draws in the audience, for those who are interested in this genre.
Who doesn't like a bit of bad boy action? This novel gets you captivated while allowing you to feel enveloped in the content and its theme. It does make for a very entertaining read.

I do think the characters sounded a bit younger than they are, which was a bit confusing.
But that aside I liked it.

I love romantic suspense books so I had to dive right into this one! This book starts off with the action right from the beginning and doesn't end until the last page. I liked the storyline, even though it was predictable for the most part. The characters were great. Kira is a bad ass woman and Dex is a sexy hitman ...I mean, you can't really go wrong with this combo can you? I loved the dynamic between these two MC's because you can never really tell who is the hunter and who is the prey. This book was a quick, entertaining, spicy read.
