As with all this series it hit the spot and didn't disappoint.
Great to see Jenny find happiness with Edwin after so many false starts
If you haven't read this saga it's highly recommended

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
This story is mainly about Jenny, she feels that she is not as educated as others and she learnt everything through her love of reading.
We also read about how the relationships of Thea, Pearl are developing, and Jenny feels like she’s the only one without a partner. Edwin has a secret and what he’s seen and done in the war still haunt him.
There is a mystery for the girls to solve which involves ones of the new recruits.
Vicki has written a fabulous series, which has been researched well. One which I recommend to read.
I highly recommend this book.

What a lovely story to finish off this series. I loved the fact that all the loose ends were tied up and all the characters had happy endings. I grew to love those girls and will look forward to a new series soon. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

This is book 4 in the bomber girls series by Vicki Beeby and is the last in the series. This book covers the story of Jenny and Edwin.
They experience the last days of the war and the celebration of VE day and the changes they had to get used to after
Excellent.!

Finally it was the turn of Jenny and her story - and the last book in a very satisfying series.
Jenny - who felt undereducated and taught herself through her love of books even though she often pronounced words as she read them. I soar of wished there had been more Jennyisms in the story but there were only a couple this time. Having a deaf daughter with hearing aids I am used to mispronunciations.
This was essentially a continuation of the love lives of Thea, Pearl and Jenny. We had already met them and their beaus in previous books but this one centred on Jenny and Edwin - who harboured a romantic secret of his own and memories of wartime service that haunted him.
He was a bit difficult to like at times though I could empathise with the trauma that had hit him at the end of the previous book. Sometimes I really wished I could have given him a good shake.
There was also a good side story and mystery that was well explained in Vicki Beeby’s notes so I won’t provide spoilers here.
Vicki obviously well researchers her books - and the likelihood of roles that would have been available for WAAFs when the war ended. She also obviously grew to like her own characters as the series evolved and this showed in her writing.
I really recommend anyone that finds this book to go back and read the others - so much interesting information about the work of the WAAFs, RAF pilots and the effects of the missions they were sent on and life in the environs of an airfield .

Part of a series featuring a group of young girls during World War Two. The war comes to an end, lots of happy endings and a little heartache.

The last book in the Girls of The Bomber Command series. I though it was a very satisfying ending to the story, but I definitely didn’t want to say goodbye to the lovely characters yet.
You follow Jenny and Edwin (in my opinion the two best characters) while they struggle with the realities of war. They experience the last few months of the war, VE day and the changes after. In the book there is feelgood friendships. In addition, it has a well- rounded plot that even contains some mystery. It is a very well paced book.
It was a very well-paced book, as there was a good balance between developmental scenes and the scenes with action.
In conclusion. I believe it was a well-paced book, with a lovely romance. Making it a good ending for the series.

A thoroughly enjoyable, well written and impeccably researched WW2 saga - I’d expect nothing less of a Vicki Beeby book. High Hopes for the Bomber Girls was a satisfying conclusion to the series, and it was lovely to see each of the girls find happiness.
There’s a side plot about a mysterious death which leads to a dramatic moment, but mostly it’s a gentle will-they/won’t-they romance. It could easily be read as a stand-alone by anyone who hasn’t read the previous books, although this would reveal which of the other characters end up paired off. But then, why wouldn’t you want to read the whole series? The girls are great characters with intelligence, pluck, and interesting back stories.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Bomber Girls series and this, the last one, was every bit as good as the others. I am sad to say goodbye to the girls, and, I hope, that one day, we might find out what happens later in their lived. Vicki writes so well that every book is a treat I look forward to reading! I can't wait to see what Vicki comes up with next!

We are back with the bomber girls near the end of the war.Jenny still doesn’t know why Edwin turned away from her even though her friends say that he can’t take his eyes off her. Then a local girl Rita is found dead but the police don’t think it was murder just a tragic accident.Jenny and the rest of them think different and set too to find out what really happened to Rita. Will Jenny and Edwin finally get together or go their separate ways? What happened to Rita?Thank you to Netgalley and Canelo.

Set in England during ww2 this is a fascinating and enjoyable read. I haven’t read many books set in England during the war or about the RAF pilots and I found it interesting to read about. I loved Beeby’s writing style which flowed. The characters were interesting to read about.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book, all opinions expressed are my own.

There is something so lovely about beginning to read the next book in a series when you already know and care about the characters and can’t wait to find out what happens next in their journeys through life. High Hopes for the Bomber Girls is a very satisfying conclusion to Vicki Beeby’s Bomber Girl series. Although part of me would like to see a book written about these characters after the war and later in their lives too.
This novel concentrates on the story of Jenny, who is much cleverer than she believes herself to be, even with her mispronunciations of words she has only seen written down not spoken. The novel illuminates the impact of some of the things our servicemen and women had to endure and do in the war years and how this potentially affected their relationships and future lives. Lovely to catch up with Edwin, Pearl, Greg, Thea, Fitz, Deedee and Thomas too.
As always with a Vicki Beeby novel, I got carried away with reading and was eager to get back to the book whenever I had chance. Can’t wait to see what the author will treat us to next.

The war is ending, but her heart is still in battle.
Set in the fragile final days of WWII, High Hopes for the Bomber Girls delivers tension, tenderness, and a heroine you’ll root for. Jenny’s strength and heart shine through every page, and Edwin’s quiet torment broke me. Their story is both a mystery and a love letter to resilience.
If you love historical fiction with grit, warmth, and just the right touch of romance — this one’s a gem.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. Having really enjoyed the previous books in this series (and others I've read by this author), I was pleased to be granted an ARC for the final novel in the series. This book was set in the closing months of WW2 (and the months following) and neatly rounded of the series. All of the characters felt believable, and the Rita/Richie/Ben subplot made this particularly interesting. The story was engaging throughout.

Firstly thank you Netgalley for this Arc
What another brilliant book in this series. Have loved every minutes of this series
Let’s see what you have next for us

Jenny Hazleton loves her job as a WAAF meteorologist, helping the airmen keep safe in the skies. None more so than Edwin Holland (who rebuffed her advances). Jenny struggles to understand why Edwin turned her down when Thea and Pearl tell her they are sure he is love with her. Sometimes the truth is just too cruel!
When a stranger comes to the village it is a shock when Jenny discover who she is and prepares to dislike her.
On the prompting of Thea, Jenny goes on a dare with someone else but Jenny is not impressed with his advances.
There is shock in the village when a young woman is found dead, who will be the guilty one?
I really enjoyed this book as Jenny had been my favourite in the series, even with her mispronouncing words/or because of.
There was so much going on, it just kept me reading. Saddest part was that it was last in series. As I love the authors books I’ll look out for her next one.

oh no! reading this book means we have to come to the end of what has been one of my favourite historical novels of this type. i go into these books knowing they will one day end but with each new book im given hope there might just be one more. sadly this looks to be it though. but at last we have Jenny's turn. or do we? for there is far more in store for her to get to that. but what a joy to read. this was the perfect ending. this book was once again a high hope given and a high hope achieved for both the girls and us readers.
i cant wait for more from Vicki and just hope i am lucky enough to read it because i finished this book in hours and didnt want to put it down. but am now feeling that slight grief a reader gets when a favourite series ends.

Thank you net galley and the publisher for this arc. I’m so upset that this is the end of the series but that said what an incredible ending! I throughly enjoyed this one and didn’t want it to end.

OH no, it's the end of the series..... Absolutely gutted as I have loved this series of books and will miss the characters in them. I finished this book in 24 hours as it was so good and kept you guessing until the end as to how part of the story would go. The series is brilliantly written and engaging and I would recommend it to anyone who likes historical saga type fiction.
Thank you to the publishers, NetGalley and of course Vicki Beeby for allowing me to read an review an Arc copy and for writing such an exception set of books.

Is it finally Jenny's turn to find love? I was so excited to find out in this book. When a dead body appears it won't be smooth sailing! I was thrilled to catch up with all my favourite girls and I am beyond happy for everything they have achieved. Sadly the series has come to a end with this book but it truly is the perfect ending!
