Thank you to Central Avenue Poetry, NetGalley, and Simon and Shuster for this ARC.

This poetry collection is absolutely stunning. The format of this is so unique and exciting. Full of gorgeous metaphors and heartbreaking candor that had me tearing up multiple times. Conlon shows how being deeply personal can lead to some of the most impactful art.

This is a beautiful book of poetry that combines theater and finding oneself into a gripping story. I'd love to watch this on stage but it was easy to picture from her writing.

Such a unique and captivating poetry collection! I loved the way this was formatted and the way each section told a complete story. Props to the poet for her vulnerability and for turning her pain into such beautiful words. Recommend to all!

This was just beautiful. I was moved, and not just by the stage direction. I love the mix of poetry and theater, it worked so well. It was a very quick read and I'm looking forward to reading more by Conlon in the future.

Thank you Central Avenue Publishing and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

God, this is fantastic. Caitlin has outdone herself. I was hooked right from the beginning, when the premise was explained, and I stayed hooked the whole way through. I wrote down so many lines and just put exclamation points next to them. I love love love this book, and I definitely want to own my own copy once it's out.

Also, not super relevant to my review, but reading the first section (about the mother) while pregnant was a trip 🥲

Highly recommend this to any fans of poetry or Caitlin Conlon, but also to anyone who feels like they're putting on a performance for one reason or another.

Thank you to Netgalley and Central Avenue Publishing for the chance to read and review this ARC.

I was a huge fan of Caitlin Conlon's first poetry collection, Surrender Theory, so I requested this book as soon as I realized it was available. It did not disappoint! The formatting was really unique and grabbed my attention from the start. The poems were raw, emotional, and descriptive, and there were a ton of lines that I highlighted. I thought the section "The Father" was particularly strong. I'd recommend this book to all poetry fans, and I think it's safe to say that I'll read anything Conlon writes at this point.
