Rickey Larentiis is unrelenting and uses poetic form to conjure spells of experience, of identity, of desire and violence. It was refreshing to read a book of poems that actually takes risks and experiments with form and language, which I see pretty regularly with queer writers—queered form. It was a heavy read but full of resistance.
