Cara Jenkins is a successful author about to embark on her thirtieth novel. When she starts to write it an anonymous letter comes in the letterbox, at first she thinks nothing of it but then they start getting more and more frequent. She decides to write her new book on what is happening but reality and fiction seems to blur together for her. Cara soon believes someone is watching her and following her, is she imagining it or is it really happening.

Keogh is a remarkable talent, and when I was offered the chance to read an early copy of The Writer, I jumped at it.

This gripping novel follows Cara Jenkins, a best-selling author who finds herself paralysed with panic as she struggles to come up with an idea for her much-anticipated 30th book. The pressure mounts when her agent reveals that the publisher is planning a major celebration for its release, and her editor hopes the novel might earn an award nomination.

Just as the stress becomes overwhelming, Cara begins receiving anonymous, threatening letters. She turns to the only coping mechanism she knows—writing. But as she pours her fears onto the page, the line between fact and fiction begins to blur, leaving her (and the reader) unsure of what’s real and who can be trusted.

With its many twists and turns, The Writer keeps you guessing until the final, shocking—but entirely fitting—ending. A taut, clever thriller that showcases Keogh at the top of her game.

Valerie Keogh always knows how to tell a story. This book hot a little repetitive in some parts for me. But other than that was a perfect rainy day read. Characters spot on in real and fiction..I loved the ending but mo spoilers.

Thanks to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an early release of this book
