Sometimes you read a book and it is equal parts sad and gritty but still there is hope so you keep plodding through. And it's worth it.
This is not an emotionally easy story to read. There is loss, anger, confusion, and a tiny hint that things will possibly get better. The story really captured the motivations of all the different characters and how they dealt with the obstacles that they made and that were put in their way. Through it all there is something that keeps moving you forward.
It is not a happy book per se, but it is a book of perseverance and love.
