After reading the first one I knew this one would be fun too! Josie is just a fantastic writer and I have loved everything she’s put out! Thank you to the publishing team and Netgalky for this ARC

In book two of the Melody Bittersweet series we find Melody and her ghost busting gang taking on a castle and circus ghosts. I enjoy the overall premise of this series. However, I wish these books were a bit more flushed out. Sometimes it feels as if the inner monologue of Melody just rambles on and on. It also seems like we are being told again and again how quirky and weird she is. I also wish that the love story didn’t seem so disjointed. I understand this is a series and you want the romance storyline to thread through each novel, but sometimes it feels like we are taking a step forward and two gigantic steps back. I would like to see a little more progression in that relationship.

I received an ARC for Kooky Spooky Love from NetGalley. I absolutely adore this series. It’s so fun and entertaining with the perfect amount of story and romance mixed in. I hope there’s many more stories in this series. A girl can hope anyhow. This is an absolute must read for 2025. You won’t regret it!

I adored crazy spooky love, so obviously i was thrilled to receive the second installment in that series. Talk about a perfect summerween read. I love the romcom Scooby doo esque Nostalgia this book embodies.

Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for an e-ARC of Crazy Spooky Love. Enjoyed the second installment in the Melody Bittersweet series just as much as the first book. I can honestly say I’ve never read a story involving circus ghosts (including a ghost lion). Loved following the ever developing relationship between Melody and Fletch. Their banter is everything! But also enjoyed seeing a softer side of Fletch. The part about grandma’s gimp mask had me cracking up. She deserves her own series.

Loved the mix of paranormal, mystery, cozy, and romance vibes. It reminded me of the show Ghost with all of the quirky characters. This book kept me guessing, especially Britannia’s storyline. Can’t wait to read many more Bittersweet books.

I really enjoyed the josie books i have read so far. I liked this one but didnt love it. While we do have a love triangle it didnt feel very authentic. Only one choice really felt right. I liked the mystery but at times it kinda dragged. I enjoyed the spooky light feel of the book but i am use to a little more emotion from this author. This is a good palette cleanser book.

This was such a fun, kooky read! I loved the ghostly mystery, the chaotic team energy, and omg the love triangle had me flipping pages. Melody is hilarious, the banter is gold, and I need more of this gang immediately! 🫶🏻

Expected Release Date: 10/28/2025

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the early access. All thoughts in this review are my own.

Okay, I’ll be real — I was THIS close to DNF’ing this book after chapter 6, but I didn’t. I actually put it down for a bit, read a couple of other books, then finally came back to Kooky Spooky Love and finished it.

I didn’t totally love it, but I didn’t hate it either. I definitely enjoyed Crazy Spooky Love — the first book in the series — way more than this one.

Not sure why, but those first few chapters were kinda tough to stay focused on. Maybe because each chapter felt like it took forever to really get going before the pace finally picked up.

For me, Kooky Spooky Love was really held together by three characters:

- Fletcher Gunn and the slow-burn tension he brought
- Melody’s Gran — honestly, I want to be her when I’m older, just rocking fancy clothes and sipping champagne
- Artie Elliott, who was just way too sweet, adorable, and innocent for his own good

Also, I really loved the humour between the characters. The scene with Britannia and Melody in the Princess Suite doing all those girlfriend things actually got me right in the feels — especially when Britannia finally revealed her long-held secrets. I got a bit teary!

I enjoyed seeing a softer side of Leo Dark and his character growth too. I’m curious if there’ll be another book where Melody and Fletcher finally get real about their feelings.

FYI — I’ll be posting my review on Instagram and Goodreads 3–5 days after posting it on NetGalley.

Big thanks to Random House Publishing Group for letting me read an ARC of Kooky Spooky Love in exchange for an honest review!

This is a story full of quirky and fun characters and ghosts. I did not realize this was a sequel, but that didn't hinder my understanding to much. The main character can be a bit all over the place at times, but that fits in with the motley ghost hunting crew.

I really am enjoying this series. After reading this first book I compared it to Scoopy-doo if it were a romcom. I am going to thrown in the old tv show Ghost Whisperer as well. We are back with Melody and the gang as they take on another case, this time in a castle. You got to hear the call at the end of the last book. This time we also have a ghost animal in the mix. Melody is solving another case with the gang, also include Leo and the twins in this… as well as Fletcher. I really like the progression we have going with them. We still have some of those spicy scenes but ind of like Janet Evonovich and the Stephanie Plum books it is taking time for this relationship/situationship to develop and you know I am here for it. I really a hoping there are going to be more books as this series is one now that I feel like I could go to just for a time that I need something not to heavy but when I want a fun read when I still want a mystery to figure out. I can’t wait to read more from Josie Silver and I really can’t wait for more Melody Bittersweet.
Note some of the topics in this one do get a bit heavier than the last one in my opinion and I would suggest looking for author notes.
Thank you to Dell for the complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Ballentine for this advanced copy!

I really enjoy this book. Still want to punch Leo. Still unsure about Fletcher. LOVE Melody, Marina, and Artie.
This time, we are in a big mansion filled with new tenants, ghost nuns, ghosts playing card games, and a dead ringleader of the circus, with two dead trapeze artists.. all caught in a messy love triangle. Did I mention a ghost lion? That's important, too.

Leo and Melody are forced to work together to figure out what happened between the ringleader and trapeze artists, and Fletcher has decided to join in on the fun and write a story about Melody! Did I also mention they're all staying together in the same place?

While I figured out early on what happened, I loved the journey to get there. You see more into relationships of Leo and Melody, and also Fletcher with Melody. Very excited to continue this series!

I do gotta ask, tho.. why does no one visit her dead grandpa that's just chilling out in their bedroom?

I need to bring this to all the bookclubs this fall. I had the most fun while also getting that nice warm blanket cozy feeling reading this. The romance is a subplot in my opinion but it doesnt feel lacking. I love the ghost vibes and this is my first ghost hunting/ Ghostbusters series and I am really loving it.

Okay, I am surprising myself with how I have fallen for this series about a ghosthunter. This is definitely outside my usual genres!

The second in a series, Kooky Spooky Love is sweet, fun, heartwarming, and adorable. Melody Bittersweet, our heroine, can literally see dead people (and is revealed in this book, also dead animals.) Melody is funny and fun, but her supporting crew is equally enjoyable. Her mother and grandmother also work in the supernatural (family genetics, right?) and live right next door, filling Melody's life with sugar, unsolicited advice, and love. Melody's best friend Marina, the sweet and observant Artie, and capable and organized Glenda Jackson keep things going at work. Between Melody's ex, fellow ghosthunter and TV star Leo and intrepid reporter Fletcher, our ghosthunter's romantic life is complicated, spicy and kind of fun.

Summary: Bridget Jones meets Ghostbusters with a splash of Stephanie Plum. I began with doubt but ended with enthusiasm. Definitely recommend, even if, like me, you don't enjoy supernatural stories.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

I told myself I wasn’t going to do this to myself again. But my conscience told me I had to. If you follow me or my reviews you know I was not kind with my review of book one in this series. And I had high doubts that I would torture myself with another book. However, NetGalley & Dell had already been so kind to give me both books and I wanted to give Josie Silver one more try. Especially because so many people love her books.

So here we are back again but this time to review Kooky Spooky Love. Now I will admit this one was better than the first one. The pacing was much better, less plot holes and the love interest problems I had in book one were slightly improved.

Now my favorite element of this book our trio of wacky adorable characters: Artie, Melody and Marina were back in tip top form. I love this trio so much their bond and friendship is everything. And freaking Artie my man coming in clutch. He continuously makes me laugh and if Josie gives him his own book I’ll read it.

Like I mentioned the love triangle in the last book left little to be desired. However, Melody and Fletch both had some pretty redeeming and evolving moments and I enjoyed watching there relationship start to really flourish. Plus Leo was more than just an annoying character. Who would’ve thought the man had a soft side.

Even with all of that said if there is to be more books in this series regrettably I’m calling it quits. I think there’s better books out there that follow this same book formula so to speak. Now even though this isn’t for me. I would recommend fans of Josie checking this book out.

Lastly again big thank you to NetGalley & Dell for providing me an arc to read and review.

I loved all of the ghosty chaos in this book! This is a cute cozy mystery that was also part romcom and was so much fun to read. I loved the theme of grief as it felt so raw and pulled at my heartstrings.

Was super excited for the second book in the series since I really enjoyed book one and the ghost plot sounded really interesting.

First off, I loved the ghost in this one. I found the mystery and the tragic story really good. It certainly pulled at my heartstrings. I thought everything involving the mystery was wrapped up nicely.

The Ghostbusting Agency is still a hoot. The shenanigans this group gets into is nuts haha. I liked that we got to see more of the characters, especially the two love interests. Both are so good it's becoming hard to choose.

Would recommend if you enjoy cozy mysteries with ghosts and romance!

2.75 I enjoyed the first book in the series, and immediately picked up this second one. I liked the ghost part of the story, but it just had too much crude sex language and behaviors for me to love it.

The book was previously published under another of the author’s pseudonyms, Kitty French.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Ballantine for the opportunity to read and review this book prior to publication.

This book was so much fun! It’s equal parts cozy mystery and ghostly chaos, with slow burn romantic tension. Melody Bittersweet is hilarious and awkward, and I adored watching her juggle ghostbusting with her wildly unhelpful team. Josie Silver writes the perfect paranormal rom com that’s impossible to put down!

I am loving this cozy ghost hunting series so far! It was so funny and lighthearted but also has some deeper elements to it. I'm really enjoying getting to know these kooky characters better. I loved the ghosts in this one and the mystery was really good. I loved how that all wrapped up. We got to see a bit more of Leo and that made me like him more. I still really like Fletch but man I hope he starts to believe more as the series moves on. I can't wait to see what hijinks the Ghostbusting Agency gets up to next, and I can't wait to see all of the characters relationship develop more. If you are wanting a cozy mystery with a touch of tension and romance, make sure to check these out!

Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine - Dell for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book was quite a captivating read. It’s about grief and letting go and choosing to love through the nonsense. It’s madcap and moving and full of warmth wrapped in ghostly glitter. I loved every haunted, hilarious second.
