Sam and Forrest were originally college sweethearts but parted ways to pursue their own careers. Little did they know that they would end up in one of the most remote places in the world together. This was a fun and cute second chance romance in such an unique setting! I really enjoyed getting to see Sam and Forrest rekindle their relationship and seeing how each of them kept the other with them all this time even though they've been apart.

Thank you to Harlequin for the eARC!

Two former best-friends and lovers are brought back together when they both volunteer for a medical mission at the South Pole. Forced proximity makes them face their feelings and their fears.

Juliette Hyland writes a compelling medical romance with lots of injuries at the McMurdo Station. I’m familiar with being in isolated areas and having medical emergencies, but it’s scary and Hyland captures these feelings on the page. There isn’t any gore, but the emotions behind the various injuries and illnesses come through.

The ER Doc's South Pole Reunion packs some heat too. I love the chemistry between Forrest and Sam as well as the slow walk to rekindle those flames. Fear and expectations can direct so much of our lives and the author has both characters show us different points-of-view of the impacts of these issues. Anxiety and depression is spoken about frankly along with Forrest continuing his therapy online while he is at the isolated station. Mental health being addressed in a healthy manner is refreshing.

I do wish that there was more diversity in the characters, maybe there was and it just wasn’t described in the story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip to the South Pole. Sam and Forrest made me smile. I was looking to escape from this crazy world and they provided a wonderful one.
