Let's just jump right into the center of the story. The chocolate making machine disaster was an absolute hoot and a half. The author did an amazing job of painting quite the picture with that scene. Before I step away from the chocolate, I advise having a few pieces of your favorite chocolate on hand to read this book. Some of Angie's truffle creations described in each of her chocolate making scenes sounded divine and will have you wish you could reach for one of the confections.
This book is by far the best in the series. We learn so much about Angie. She is a complicate character very well fleshed out making her real from her flaws to her insecurity about being dumb to her worries about everyone else. I've only read a few books in this series so I don't know if any others have shown so many sides of Angie but she was very impressive in this story. I suspect because of her looks and money, she is often dismissed or thought of as a pretty thing which probably helps her joining Paavo's investigations. In this book, with Paavo's future at stake, Angie is all in doing whatever it takes to help clear his name. She tailed suspected, searched rooms, dressed as a bag lady, and generally just listened. People spoke in front of her and she used what she learned to help even if she did blunder into danger from time to time. I refer you back to the bag lady incident.
Paavo is very different from Angie with the exception of both believing in justice and fairness. The mystery that both Paavo and Angie find themselves embroiled in is complex. You have crooked cops and illegal gambling and strange and mysterious characters and Paavo at the center of it all as the supposed fall guy. Alex is straight up a lout and his entourage is no good and I immediately found myself cheering for him to get his comeuppance. The Reverend was the most interesting character on the wrong side of this story. On the surface, at times it seemed like he was protecting Angie and had some good in him. At other times, knowing who he was in cahoots with made him seem bad. I found myself waffling throughout the story to understand his motivations and which side he would come down on at the end.
I almost gave up on this story early on. At first blush, Angie seemed flighty flitting between jobs and careers. . I almost dismissed her, underestimating how truly awesome she was in this story. The fluff might be skin deep but under it was a woman in love who wanted to help her man while finding her own purpose through job hunting and volunteering. She believed in part of the mission but also believed she could help get to the bottom of what was happening and walk away in the end a step closer to the alter with Paavo. I am super glad I read this book,, even if I did eat too much chocolate to do so. I highly recommend this book - come for the zany chocolate escapades and stay for the mystery.
Thanks to NetGalley and Quail Hill Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Angie Amalfi is a budding chocolatier who volunteers at a local mission that gets her in some sticky situations. Does she listen to her detective boyfriend and stick to catering and let him solve crime ? Absolutely not ! Mayhem ensues and she finds herself in some dangerously hilarious predicaments.
Thank you so much Net Galley for this book . I absolutely loved every minute of it !

Another adventure for Angie! I was so happy that NetGalley has let me read another book by Joanne Pence. If you haven't read her books you are missing a treat. As a mystery, I was kept guessing for quite a while. The whole story told with descriptions of mouthwatering candies just out of my reach. I definitely recommend this series,. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.

A new to me author that I very much enjoyed!!
This novel is quite the mystery. I simply couldn't put this adventure down! So many twists that will keep you turning the pages to see who dun it.
Along with chocolate too! Yum!
Wonderful characters that were fun in getting to know as well.
5 stars for a job well done. The writing was awesome and kept me engaged.
I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

Truffles to Die For is a cozy mystery that delivers a sweet balance of charm, suspense, and chocolatey goodness. Angie Amalfi’s quest to create the perfect truffle lands her in the middle of a murder mystery that kept me guessing all the way through. The blend of foodie fun with a solid whodunit was just what I needed for a relaxing weekend read. I especially enjoyed how Angie’s loyalty and determination shine through—even when things get sticky (and not just from chocolate!).

Warning—this mystery may cause intense cravings and sudden bursts of sass. 🍫🕵️♀️
Listen, I picked this up for the chocolate and stayed for the chaos. Angie is equal parts fabulous and fearless, and I loved watching her chase the truth with truffle batter still on her apron. Between crooked cops, a fishy minister, and her man getting framed, she dives in like a crime-fighting Betty Crocker with zero chill (in the best way). If you like your cozy mysteries with a sugar rush and a side of sass, this one’s your jam. Or ganache. 😏🍬

Murder never tasted so sweet.
Truffles to Die For is a cocoa-dusted whodunit with just the right blend of sass, suspense, and scandal—trust me, this one’s a treat you can’t share!

#TrufflestoDieFor #NetGalley is an intense story that kept me guessing and questioning everyone's motives and actions.
Angie was funny while trying to perfect her chocolate business, and her relationship with Paavo had me wondering what was going to happen to them.
I lived this story from beginning to end I'm happy to recommend it to other readers.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.
